I have eaten here for a number of years, and have also used their take out a number of times, and the food has always been good to very good (although I have prior post on disappointing calamari order size). We ordered take out last night and it was a bit disappointing. The chicken in the sorrentino was a little tough, either over cooked or pre-cooked and then the ham, eggplant, mozzarella wasm added on top and placed into oven to melt the cheese. The chicken also had a slight taste to it, which it never had in the past. The other dish was veal & eggplant parmigiana deluxe, which was okay, although would have liked to be able to see and taste more eggplant, and small section of the veal was a little tough, but this could have just been the cut of the veal. We may give it one more try as we do want to support our local businesses. Also, the restaurant is now adding the 4% convenience fee if you pay with a credit card. Other places like Ardsley Cucina, Pastina in Hartsdale, nor Mariachi Loco 2, have not taken this type of action yet. read more

Nice size family style portions. Lots of available free parking. Private party area towards the back and really nice tented front area as well. Food is fresh and tasty. Pizza is an excellent thin crust style with lots of flavor. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Great place for some good casual Italian American cuisine. Sitting here in pizza beat now as we speak DISGUSTED. We came here there was tissue on the table decided to stay BIG MISTAKE. We ordered a pumpkin martini and a whiskey Apple cider. The whiskey apple cider had a dead fly in it!!! Disgusting and when asked for the manager they said we went to make a delivery run!!! They made us another drink but we couldn't drink or finish our food! A lady came over later on and took the drink off the bill but this was our first and last time eating here ! read more

Bad experience. No customers at all so how can you mess up an order? Look at the pic. $10.95 salad with one slice of cucumber and one slice of tomato that goes on a sandwich. Not even a tomato wedge or grape tomatoes? And the gorgonzola was months old!!! so I paid $25 for pork chops with peppers. Actually was pretty good. Veal Marsala, the best on the planet here. My family has been going here with me since I was a little girl and it is a out go to for family get togethers. Whenever i'm in the mood for straightforward, consistently good traditional New York Italian fare Pizza Beat is one of my favorite local spots. The chicken and eggplant combo with spaghetti is my normal favorite. We normally split a mini plain pizza as an appetizer. This place doesn't need to be any more popular than it already is, because I want to be able to get a table! It's legendary in the area. Locals tell stories of "going there for the first time when I was 16 years old, before the three kids!" 'Plenty of parking, a truly friendly staff and well prepared, wholesome food make this place a winner. BUT (there's always a "but," right?), this is NOT originally created, lavishly prepared fine Italian cuisine. It's more like "Yee-haw, Let's Have Fast Food Eye-talian"! But you don't pay Manhattan prices here, either. Some of my friends don't like the look of the place. I find it functional. It's, like, "post modern blah." It's a reasonably large establishment, so, if there's a small line by the cash register on a weekend, don't get all ****** off, and walk out. If you look to the right as you walk in, you will see the pizza ovens, but I always feel like I'm spying on the kitchen workers, so I don't look. Booths near the windows look out on a suburban nightmare of parking lot after parking lot. 'Truly ugly, but fascinating if you get all philosophical about it. Everything inside the restaurant seems to be beige. But the basics are there, and 99% of the fresh food they put on your table (usually pretty quickly) will be *very* tasty, and delicious, with a reasonably good presentation. You will find all your "traditional" dishes here: all the parms, and the pastas. They have a full bar, TV's here and there, and a back room area that's *a little* quieter. At peak hours, this is a great place for families and small parties, so it can get LOUD! Holy mackerel! Just thinking about Pizza Beat makes me HUNGRY!!!! :( read more

The definition of a fallen empire. I'd been coming to Pizza Beat since I was a child (about 22 years) and so have my parents before me. It USED TO have such amazing food and the owner Joe knew everyone by name. It is an utter disappointment what it's turned into. Given, the management and ownership has changed so I'm 100% sure it has everything to do with that. We ordered the buffalo wings which were still RAW & PINK on the inside! Baked Clams have been a favorite of mine from Pizza Beat & they were soggy and tasted undercooked. Completely nauseating. As for everything else quality is sub par. This used to be an amazing italian eatery now it's just a health hazard. Just goes to show the best things in life never last forever. Step your game up! This used to be 5stars. read more

I stopped by the pizza beat with some friends to grab a bite to eat. The location is great and has more than ample parking which is nice. The server was nice and pleasant and so was the staff. The entrees were ok. In comparison to other restaurants of the same type I would say the food here was average at best. I wouldn't travel out of my way to eat here, but if I was nearby and wanted to grab a quick bite it would suffice. read more

Very disappointed. Ordered food recently- they have increased all their prices, cut back on their portions, AND charge a 4% processing fee if you use a credit card. I ordered manicotti and got 2 mediocre pieces and it came with a salad, which consisted of iceberg lettuce. The old price of this dish used to be $15. I was charged $21! It seems as though they are taking advantage of their customers, especially with charging a 4% credit card processing fee. Most restaurants charge between 2-3%. Will not go back there- they lost a customer. read more

This place is clearly a town go to. The crowd was racially diverse which was cool to see. Lots of people celebrating birthdays, family dinners, some couples too. The restaurant is quite large. The menu has plenty of variety of Italian dishes. We ordered a sausage and a regular slice as an appetizer. The slices were clearly not fresh but the sauce was ok and the cheese was flavorful. It was a crunchy slice but still had a flop to it. My partner ordered a chicken franchise and vodka penne and I ordered spaghetti and chicken parm. The dinners were very good! Each plate was 20 bucks and we got a lot of food for our money. Honestly, I was surprised it was good. We also got desert. The Nutella donuts were incredible! The lava cake was chalky but it was good. They were clearly previously frozen deserts but they were still good. We'd go there again. The service was good. read more

The food was good but nothing outstanding. I agree the tomato sauce is very good and our waiter was friendly and attentive but the place has zero atmosphere, is showing it's age, and the bus boys are a little too quick to remove food/drinks from the table. For a Monday night they had a decent amount of people dining, but it wasn't crowded and no one was waiting for tables. I felt like we were being rushed and there was no need for it at 7:30 PM. One in our party ordered the shrimp, clams over linguini and the shrimp were a tad overcooked - not terribly but they were on the border of being tough. Also the taste was very strong so I believe they were also bordering on being old. Fish should not smell or taste fishy, it's a real turn off. The baked clams were good as was my ravioli parmigiana although there was way too much melted mozzarella. I swear I thought I had one or two more ravioli's but it was just more mozz! If you have a craving for Italian American food you won't go wrong here but I'm Italian so I'm a bit more critical of Italian restaurant food. read more

I want to tell everyone to go try out one of my family's places to eat especially now during COVID 19 virus. I have known Miguel the new owner for over 35 years when he started out as the CHEF. Miguel still runs the kitchen and his signature dishes are still the best. His Mussels Fra Diavolo is the best there is. Also he makes an old fashion Italian dish TRIPE which is as good ad my Grandma use to make. Simply put going to Eat at Pizza Beat is like eating with the family. We cannot wait to go back and sit down in the restaurant where we love the waiters and waitresses who are the best and make you feel like family but Don't wait for that go sample their food via take out!!!!! This is one of those places I have passed a million times, always meant to go to, but just hadn't gotten around to it. This time I decided why not, I was in the area and was thinking of grabbing a pie for dinner. I expected one of those counters up front with a restaurant to the back. This place is definitely more of a restaurant than a pizza place. There is a sign on the door stating no slices after 5:00pm. The restaurant looks like a nice casual place. Not dumpy, but not fancy, absolutely family friendly. I just walked up to the host desk/register and ordered a pie to go. The pizza was very good. Cheese was nice and salty without being overwhelming. The toppings were ample. It was a bit greasy, but not too bad. Crust was good and thin. As a pizza place, I really enjoyed it. Worst meal I've had In a while. Place was empty and that's always a tell sign. It looked like an outdated spacious diner. Sat a table of 9 and one table wasn't even the same height as the rest. Service was below average from the server who messed up my beer & salad ... Twice. I'm not a stickler but it's not that you're so busy and you forgot, it came across as careless. The busboy was more attentive and helpful than him. My penne a la vodka tasted worst than chef boyadee. No presentation, no salt, no home cooking. On top of that .... A nice hair in it. Sent it back and got a fresh one but lost my appetite. Calamari app was tasteless with soupy greasy marinara sauce probably from a can. Chicken Parmesan: thickly breaded & dried out. Spaghetti & meatballs no real Italian flavor, I can make better at home with questionable "handmade" meatballs. Later went home to doctor it and way EXTREMELY better. Lasagna the only mediocre thing here but noodles were too over cooked. Id rather go to the UNOs across the street. read more

Came here because my fiancé and I were absolutely starving. We ordered baked clams and mussels marinara. I was craving clams and mussels, idk why I ordered seafood from a pizza joint but the second I smelled the clams I instantly regretted my decision. The second decision I regretted was taking a bit of the clams. They tasted exactly how they smelled. The waiter was not attentive at all. There was a couple seated to the left of my fiancé and I, came in a half hour after we were seated, got their food before us and also I had to literally interrupt the waiters personal conversation with the couple because apparently they were close friends, just to ask for a refill on my drink. Then I had to wait what felt like forever, to even catch the waiter to ask for my check. This place has great reviews but my experience personally SUCKED. read more

Come here if you want a fordable old school Italian food at a good price. Perfect for families with kids. a little noisy in the place needs updating. But the portions are humongous I got the chicken parm with two gigantic cutlets that I had to take home my wife got pasta with garlic sauce the best she's tasted in a while my daughter got her normal chef salad when she said was good however some of the lettuce was very white. Was greater as soon as I went to the door by the owner. Food is absolutely delicious and the place is extremely clean.

This location was amazing! I had gone with my significant other and we had an amazing time. The food was delicious and everyone there was extremely kind to us. I would high recommend coming here when you can or even after the pandemic is over! It's a lovely spot and it's worth 5 stars! It also seems like they do pay attention to what people say; for example: I had read a review regarding how loud the music gets in the restaurant but when I had listened, it wasn't too loud so they must've kept that in mind for future references. I appreciate a restaurant that really pays attention to their customers and tries their best to accommodate all :) definitely gonna be returning soon! read more

I first have to say the restaurant was very accommodating we called last minute for 14 people and they were already and set up when we arrived. The service though was not good. Some ordered pizza and others entrees and it took an additional 25 minutes for the entrees to come out after the pizza. The clam pizza was ok a little over cooked, cesaer salad was good as well. The coffee took another 20 minutes to come out and we brought a cake so he didn't have to serve the cake. It seems if your not a regular customer you are not paid attention too. Skipped us to talk to another table next to us about 3 times. This place has always been a staple in my family. My father used to take me here as a kid. I'm 44 and the food is still delicious as I remember. Anytime I've come the food has been consistently good. The service has gotten better as growing up I can remember the wait staff sometimes seemed a lil unmotivated but efficient. They were very attentive and pleasant this visit. read more

Don't let the silly/dated name fool you: This is a really good family Italian restaurant - not white-tablecloth fine dIning, but generally high quality fare. Good pastas and Italian American favorites like chicken francaise, veal parm, etc. I've been coming here a few times a year for 25 years and, without a doubt, they have the best old-school gnocchi in Westchester. Not for everyone; some prefer them light & airy, and you'll have to go elsewhere for those. . If you like deliciously weighty "belly bombs," each one worth savoring, this is the place to go! The "new" owner was the chef for all those years, and he has maintained consistency while making small upgrades (tablecloths, glass instead of plastic glasses) elevating the ambience a little. This is one of Yelper Ben Y.'s favorite places to chow down, especially on their individual pizzas. He takes me here often whenever I'm in the area, and it is always a swell time. He gets a plain individual pie and I used to get that too, until I recently ventured to try the meatball topping on mine. Amazing decision! The meatballs were homemade and totally complimented the great taste of the pizza. The customer service here is great! Ben Y. is a regular (outside of the Yelp term to be "a regular") at Pizza Beat, so the waiters know him. They always seat us promptly and know to bring over big glasses of water (he's a big water drinker). They know what he gets and come to take my order, and soon enough our pizza is before us. Water refills come often. I love the Pizza Beat experience. Really great food, nice people, and a nice guy to have a pizza with. read more
