Moving from Chicago to Palatine my wife and I needed a new pizza place. Once we had Pizza Bella we didn't need to look any further. The pizza is always delicious but their service is always amazing. Pizza always comes out on time, hot & ready. When you go to pick up your pizza you are greeted with smiles and hospitality, regardless of how busy they are. I've tried many, many gf pizzas in the northwest suburbs and have never really found one I liked... until now : ) Dominos, ironically, was my favorite, especially at $7.99, pretty cheap for any gf pizza. PB was $20, almost 3 x more AND about 3 x better : ) If I didn't know it was gf, I would still say it tastes good. Every other gf pizza I've had has been "good... for a gf pizza." I will never step in here again .I grew up in the restraunt industry and I have never seen this. We went and sat down and asked for the specials, they told us there is only specials for To-go orders. so I decided, Ok I will just order the pizza that is on special and will take it to go No big deal .My kids were hungry and we decided to sit outside at the tables. when the pizza was ready, we sat at their ourside tables to eat it. we did not have beverages or food from another restaurant just the pizza we ordered from here. a server from this restaurant comes outside and tells us we can't eat the to-go pizza outside at their tables. I can imagine if they were busy, but they were dead every table outside was unoccupied . They were upset we were not eating inside at full price is my guess. We had the best night at Pizza Bella. We had wanted to try the new dine-in location for a while and tonight was the night! We had the MOST pleasant server (Thank you, Frankie!) and the food was amazing. We'd been patrons of Pizza Bella for years when we'd first moved to Palatine at its prior carry out location. We'd used them for pizza and catering for birthdays, baptisms and family parties. I will say the outdoor patio was perfect and the indoor area looked fresh and welcoming. We ordered fried ravioli as an app, chicken tenders (huge!) and a NY style pizza for mains. Everything was incredibly hot and fresh. The pizza had generous toppings. The bread basket to start...omg, foccacia?!? Amazing! Our kids' drinks were always replenished and my husband and I both had a great beer/wine choices. Have I mentioned Frankie our server was the best?! We even have leftovers for tomorrow. Frankie got everything boxed up right as a storm was coming in too. We waited about an hour for our pizza and it came out hard as a rock. How do you mess up a cheese pizza. They were hesitant to make us a new one. It was cold and inedible. They did comp us for the pizza, but we still had to wait 20 minutes for a new one. Watched everyone at our table eat. Barely an apology and then avoided our table the rest of the night. First visit since they opened. Service was good. We prefer a tomato based Mariana, not a vodka Mariana sauce, too pinkish looking. Pasta ok, meatballs homemade, 3 for 6.00, a bit to small. Today it was 45 degrees at the time we visited, they have one set of double doors, and it was really chilly inside. They will have to do something for the winter time. It was quite uncomfortable. Also wine list was limited to 5 reds and 5 white, prices starting at 36.00 plus, a little high in my opinion. A glass was 9.00. Also not conversation friendly, a little loud at times. My wife and I went to Pizza Bella for dinner tonight, sat at the bar and had a wonderful time. Tim the bartender was attentive and made us feel comfortable, the restaurant has a full bar. Really good.... I would definitely order again and recommend this place. There's only 1 thing that is negative, but I can't blame them. Their delivery takes a long time. When I placed the order they said it could take an hour and half to two hours. Yeah, that's a long time but at least they warn you. My guess is that they get so much business that everything takes a long time. If anything, that means they are really good and busy. We wanted to try a big variety so we got a lot of stuff. Of course we got pizza. They have a pizza called Brother Marc, which is basically a meat lovers pizza with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, and meatballs. Can you believe it.... definitely a lot of meat. It was really good and well balanced. It didn't feel like it was too much meat. We wanted to see how good their pasta was, so we ordered the Pasta Bolognese, which was also very good.... Better than many of the Italian restaurants I've been to in the area. I was craving a calzone so I had to try it. The cheese calzone normally just comes with Mozzarella, but Pro tip....ask them to mix ricotta cheese as well. Makes it more creamy and tasty. I have been going to this restaurant for many years. I ordered yesterday and the week before and I have to speak up now. The food is terrible. The name of this pizza mecca is Pizza Bella. It is a little pizza joint tucked away in a strip mall located in Palatine, Illinois. The place has an old school Italian feel, where quality is the main focus and fresh ingredients are used over cost. Pizza Bella is run by charismatic owner and Chef Tony Defilippis. He will treat you like a member of his family when you walk in the door. Now this place does not just make a run of the mill pizza. He makes delicious one of a kind style pizzas. The Bruschetta style pizza was my favorite. It was made with vine ripe fresh tomatoes from the garden, basil, juicy chicken, and crust so light you will think you are eating a piece of heaven. Another stand out pizza is his Detroit-style thick crust made in a custom special pan loaded with pepperoni and creamy ricotta. The ricotta is so fresh and the pepperoni is perfect and crispy with a perfect crunch and spice. Another pizza that is definitely on the list to try is his Buffalo chicken pizza. It comes with tangy buffalo sauce and perfectly cooked chicken. The spiciness from the buffalo sauce works so well on this that first timers will wonder why they haven't ever tried this before. You would never think from the outside of this restaurant that it was pumping out some of the best food and pizza in Chicago and suburbs. I, myself make the drive to check Pizza Bella out every chance I get. My only advice that I could give is to get there early as soon as they open their doors because people line up to get a slice or a full pizza from this place. I almost do not want to post this because I don't want this place to get even more popular than it already is. This is not just a hidden gem in Palatine, it's a gem in the entire state of Illinois. It's the perfect storm of a great owner, fresh ingredients, and unique one of a kind style pizzas. Who knew that all this has been in your backyard and you just have not known it?
