    a pizza on a table

This is one of our favorite spots! We tend to sit outside which is a must in Minnesota. The service is efficient and we usually have our pizza quickly! We love to split the Biga - I love toppings but my daughter doesn't so it's a great way for me to get extra toppings. We love to get there by walking or biking and grab ice cream next door at Pumphouse after--or sometimes before!

Our youngest wanted pizza and ice cream so Pizza Biga was a perfect location in our neighborhood because right next door is Pumphouse Creamery. We got there about 45 minutes before closing and didn't think we could still dine in but to our surprise the server was still serving. The dining inside was empty and it was super hot yesterday so we stuck with A/C for indoor dining and got to pick wherever we wanted to sit. It was great because we got a table for six by the window. Our food came right out and didn't have to wait very long. When we were almost done, there was a line at Pumphouse Creamery so the server said that we didn't have to be in a rush and can take our time to finish up. The pizza crust is like eating an Indian naan bread, crispy on the edges act soft in the middle. Just how I like to enjoy my pizza. The pizza size is like a personal size pizza but could be shareable. But I think I could have finished the whole pizza if I didn't need to save room for ice cream. The pizza dough is so light and fluffy that I didn't feel bloated at the end where I felt like I ate too much. This is probably my third time here. Great pizzas for a reasonable price and it's local. Definitively will be back again. They two beers on tap otherwise there's a wine list.

Absolutely loved this little pizza shop! We were going to see a show at the parkway and grabbed some dinner before! The place is tiny so highly recommend going during the week or on a slower day to ensure you could get a table! The staff was so kind and the food came out so quickly! The pizza dough is incredible (probably due to the fact it's attached to Turtle Bread Company). The pizza is wood fired and had so much flavor! Simple yet delicious. This seems like the perfect place for a date night! Parking is only available on the street but we had no problem finding some close by! Can't wait to go back!

In south Minneapolis, in the quaint neighborhood of Chicago Ave is this fabulous pizza shop! Pizza Biga had an amazing selection of pizzas- we settled on the Bianca and Dan's Balsamic pizza with artichoke dip as an appetizer. It started out wonderfully and just continued through every dish. LOVE this place!!!

Yum! First pizza here, and definitely won't be the last. We picked up 3 wood fired pizzas here plus a tasty mixed greens salad. All 3 of us were perfectly happy with our meal including the veggie (red sauce, mushroom, red onion, pickled peppers, mozzarella), pepperoni (red sauce, pepp, mozz), and Biga pizza (red sauce, mushrooms, capicola, red onion, pickled peppers, mozz). The crust was nicely fired, toppings plentiful, cheese melty, and portion size was definitely bigger than personal size. We would have had plenty with just 2 pies, but the leftovers were happily devoured for another yummy meal.

After a failed attempt to get something from Turtle Bread (they don't really offer much after lunch hours end), I decided to try out the pizza here. While the restaurant itself is pleasant enough, I was rather disappointed by the pizza. The staff on the Pizza Biga side were attentive and quick to prepare my order, so that was wonderful! If I end up eating here again in the future, I'll have to try something else. I got a Margherita pizza and found the texture of the crust to be chewy with an adequate amount of firmness to it. The sauce was more on the bland side and that was a bit unfortunate. Even some crushed red pepper flakes didn't help the flavor much. The ingredients seemed fresh though, so that was a plus. I'm curious as to whether having a different pizza with more ingredients would change my mind. Unfortunately, there are so many fantastic pizza places in the Twin Cities. This one just didn't stand out to me.

Just got our second Amazon delivery from Pizza Biga. So very happy to have found great pizza. Finally. We got three pizzas and a salad. I must say the salad is really good too. The Margarita, delicious sauce, chewy flavorful sauce, fresh basil. Yum. The mushroom pizza was awesome too. The Sausage pizza must have been good. It disappeared. My new go-to place.

Half of a small caeser salad and tasty pizza.

Good stone oven pizza. Shared a small Caeser salad. I liked overall. Yummy dressing clinging to the romaine and nice homemade croutons. Got a half pepperoni/ half sausage pizza since my companion wasn't as daring on toppings. I loved the crust! Preferred the sausage. Wanted more cheese. Overall tasty experience.

Our "sausage" pizza.... Seriously an inadequate amount of sausage for $13.

This is an Argentina style pizza, which is my first time having it. The crust is literally the best part and I don't even like crust on any pizza. The shredded cheese that they put on the pizza is very delicate very fresh. I can't wait to get other pizzas and try those other toppings. I also got the beef empanada and it was very fresh. Very good. I would rate that 10/10.. The empanada did not break apart when I took a bite into it. It was absolutely piping hot and it comes with a chimichurri sauce and you actually don't really need the sauce. You order at the register which is nearest the door and you find a place to sit they will bring out the food to you. There are stands with water, water cups, napkins, and plates.

She then made her rounds around the restaurant, the two hours I was there. I found the presentation completely inappropriate for a restaurant. It felt more like something you would see at a strip club or Vegas nightlife venue than at a restaurant, and it was especially jarring at a 5 PM event. Honestly, I would have found it inappropriate regardless of the time. I'm Latina and all for a good, sexy time. But there is a time and place for everything. Beyond that, the restaurant was extremely crowded and hot, and they were already running out of food. Given the number of people there, the food situation was poorly handled. I also had an issue with my drink charge. It was listed as $9, but I was charged over $11, while my friend was charged only $10 for hers. That inconsistency was frustrating. Unfortunately, between the uncomfortable atmosphere, extreme crowding, heat, lack of food, and billing discrepancy, this was a very disappointing experience. I've since seen other reviews mentioning long waits, and after experiencing the chaos myself, I can understand why.

The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and authentically neighborhood-focused. Whether you're stopping in after a bike ride, meeting friends for brunch, or grabbing a late-night bite, it feels like home. The service team is outstanding. Hannah went above and beyond, crafting two custom coffee martinis that were every bit as good as anything you'd find at a dedicated cocktail bar. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to see you that's the standard here. The brunch is excellent, especially on the patio when Minnesota weather cooperates. When my friend and I walked in, we came into a fairly spacious dimly lit space with loads of people inside. We were immediately informed that there would be over 1.5hr wait for a walk-in table. We were given the option to wait for bar seating as it would probably be quicker - and surely, it was. We did have to wait quite a bit, but it was a tolerable amount of time and definitely less than what it would have taken for an actual table. My friend and I decided to share 2 pizza pies as we wanted to get a taste of two different flavors, so we eventually settled on Korean BBQ & Perfect Pickle Pie. KOREAN BBQ As it was created by a Korean chef, it definitely had true authentic Korean flavors. As a Korean myself, I was very familiar with this soy vinaigrette and have tried this on many salad before - so, it was hitting home for me. Also, you can't go wrong with the bulgogi/beef short ribs known to all those who had Korean BBQ before. The combination of the sauces that they use for this pizza is definitely very rich, full of umami. I personally enjoyed it. PERFECT PICKLE PIE This pie was a totally different flavor to the Korean BBQ. It's less rich and maybe can be overpowered or considered more bland compared to other pizza flavors. But when tried together with the BBQ, it balances out the richness of the BBQ with the more subtle/less umami flavors. This pie gives more of a tangy/sour taste that pickles provide and more of a crunch due to the chips that are added on top. The dill is present, but not overpowering. It's a nice low-key kind of taste that people who like pickles will enjoy. Overall, the flavors were very rich in every pizza pie that we had that our mouths were bursting with flavor. It was definitely the most unique pizza toppings that I've had and can see why it's so highly regarded. I can tell that they really are meticulous with their every process and that their pizza guy by the wood fire oven is expertise in what he does. My friend and I walked out quite satisfied and I was honestly more full than I expected.

There were gnats, yes, but it wasn't bad. But it did strike me that we were warned, but then no mention was made about what to do if the plague descended. Not a good start to the evening. We waited maybe 15 minutes until water arrived, at which point the server said he'd be back to take drink orders. Another 15 minutes later we ordered drinks. We saw them 20 minutes later and ordered then. First round of food arrived 20 minutes after that (arancini, quite good -- the highlight of the meal). But then it was a 40 minute wait until the second round of food came. By this point we were starving. There is simply no reason to have to wait that long for small plates. The same overly familiar server thanked us for our patience, said that he checked on the order assuming it got lost but then was informed that no, it's just slow. I said that, yes, we had been waiting long and that we were getting quite hungry. He assured us our mains would not be that long and then added "Yes, this has been the shift from hell." The mains did arrive more promptly, and they were... fine. The pasta was overcooked by a fair degree, and sauces were of a quality that any decent amateur home cook could make themselves. The pizza had an excellent crust. But when you're paying this much for a meal, you want more than a good pizza pie. Server arrived later saying that to apologize for the wait, desserts would be comped, but then... we waited so long to put in a dessert order we just asked for our check. So: incredibly slow. Service that was overly familiar to the point of reminding us that we were having a terrible time. And then no adequate compensation was made for the fact that we were having an awful time ON MY HUSBAND'S BIRTHDAY, which I had noted when I made the reservation. So, diners beware.
