Without checking I had decided to drive back home and as soon as I opened the box, a long strand of dark hair was found in my pizza. It was baked inside the pizza itself. Please be aware of the nastiness of the staff and management. I had called on the 20th to schedule a delivery for the 25th. We had asked if they were open to which they confirmed "YES". They took the order. My plans changed so on the 24th I called at 11am and requested a cancelation due to a covid outbreak in my family. She then said we aren't open to which I said we had asked and it was confirmed for the 25th on the phone. I was instructed to call back as no manager was there yet. When I did call back they told me to hold and then hung up. Later on at 6pm they charge my credit card for half of the order. They charged a card that I had used 6 months ago and not the one holding the reservation. I'm disputing the charge and must WARN EVERYONE THAT THIS PLACE HOLDS YOUR CREDIT CARD information AND THE CSV SECURITY CODE. I live just 2 blocks away from this place and I will never go back! There have been several instances that I've gone in and been treated poorly by staff. I used to come here all the time after my softball games with my family when I was younger and always looked forward to my games because I knew there was a good chance that we would be stopping here after. For years I've driven past this place & never bothered to try it until this week. I was being nosey in the neighborhood & wanted Italian food so I decided to give it a try & boy am I happy I did. Quality over quantity, grandma slices have chunks of garlic and basil all around. Ordered pies to be delivered as well when I had my apartment warming. Great service and quick delivery. Also recommend the chicken bacon and ranch pizza. Melts in your mouth and all the taste buds are satisfied. Great for date nights as well as they have a nice seating area. This place is a great Italian restaurant that serves pizza, seriously! Authentic Italian flavor in everything that I have tried here. I mostly get slices, they have a wide variety at the counter, ziti, margheritta, grandma, chicken bacon ranch and my favorite chicken ceasar (which is sometimes hard to get because its so popular). This place is always packed, which says a lot. They have a "dine in" area which they just remodeled and made it twice the size, and then they have the to-go line at the counter. Great customer service, counter guys do a great job of moving the line quickly. I have also tried there calamari, which is also pretty good.....I consider myself to be a calamari expert! There menu is huge, sandwiches, pasta dishes, seafood, paninis, salads, wraps, soups and brick oven pizza. Price is average, but its completely worth paying for this type of quality. This place is located in a shopping complex so parking isn't a problem. They delivery and accept credit card. They loose a star because wait is kind of long sometimes. read more

After just spending $500 on catering from this restaurant, we're never ordering from here again. The food was fine for the most part. Although a few people thought the salmon wasn't as good as last year. However the reason why for the one star is due to the manager who argued about the return for the racks. We returned the racks but he also wanted the aluminum trays back. When it was explained that we didn't return them last year but we received our full deposit, it fell on deaf ears. Overall, he refused to give back the $10 out of the $40 deposit. I could understand if they were metal chafing dishes but these are the type of trays that you buy at a 99cent store. Having good customer service usually goes a long way. Because now every time people ask me why I won't order from Pizza Classica, I'm going to be telling this story to everyone. As someone who works with catering companies all the time, I can say that there's plenty of other great quality restaurants that will treat their customers well. I wouldn't go so far as to label it "crack garlic bread" but it's an excellent start. craving something fairly basic to test the waters here, I had orecchiette with broccoli rabe and crumbled sausage. filling and delicious, it was pulled off without a hitch, and packed with plenty of garlic. prices are pretty inexpensive, and there's a Yelp check-in for a free soda. My daughter had their cheese from the kids menu and she loves it. I had their Chicken Caprese, which was really good and filling. Great potion size. Dining area looks great. I took my sister and family to dinner here and they loved it. They in turn took some other of town guests here after. If that doesn't say anything about this place then I do not know. Me and my dad come here once a week during a week. I'm very picky with my italian food, this place is absolutely phenomenal. The chicken parm is the best ever and I live in Howard beach where italian places are everywhere but pizza classics destroys them all. Their sauce that they use is a cooked sauce that makes the meal. The tomato sauce they use on the pasta is top 5 of the best sauces (or as we heavy Italians say "gravy" lol) that I've ever had in my life. The service is excellent, the staff is excellent, however the main dining area is a bit crowded but still not worth removing a star for. I will start off by saying I do really like their food, but the service here needs some work. All there areas (delivery, pickup, and in house) are subpar. In the past few months I have had a delivery quoted at 35 minutes which arrived in 76 minutes and then they got mad at me because I wanted to refuse it at that point. My wife, kids and myself also tried to dine in.... We were one of seven tables seated and the waiter basically ignored our table after he took the order. Had to walk up to the bar to get a refill on our drinks. And just today, a slow Tuesday with little traffic in the store, we placed an order for pickup. Nothing extravagant, two pasta dishes and two slices and we were told it would be ready in 20 minutes. We got there in 25 minutes to give some extra time and continued to wait..... Still waiting as they say a few more minutes..... Still nothing at 40 minutes. The place is, by restaurant standards, empty. We try to cancel the order at this point and the guy says "let me go in the kitchen and check" and wow, turns out it is there. Got the food home, finally, and the pasta tasted rubbery as if it was under a heat lamp for a while.... Which it probably was. The service staff is either incompetent, poorly managed, or just lazy. I eat here very often for a reason! It's like thanksgiving year round! The food is so good, the portions are very large (enough for you to share a dish or even take some home), the service is good and the eye candy that stops in here for a bite is good too. I've read the reviews about bad service and I'm pretty sure I can pin point it to one particular waiter. Trust me fellow Yelpers, if you go back and ask for Juan, you won't have a problem. Sodas are regularly refilled, the pasta is perfectly cooked and the pizza is dee-lish. I've had almost everything on the menu but I am very biased to a few dishes. Try the Baked Ziti Bolognese and the Baked Manicotti. Both are yummy. The Bolognese sauce is a perfect blend of meat to cream and the fresh cheese melted over it just makes you see stars. The manicotti is a very large serving (as are most of the dishes here). It's four large manicotti with a creamy ricotta filling. I recommend the rice ball and the calamari from the appetizer menu. The rice ball may be pre-prepared but at least it tastes good, not like frozen food crap. The Calamari isn't rubbery like in other places (which is what mortifies me). There is the ubiquitous bread basket to start off the meal and pretend to decorate the table and even that is well made. It's not over the top frills. Just good ol' fashioned bread and garlic knots. Other dishes I recommend: the Chicken Scarpariello is soo good. It helps that all the entrees come with an option of a pasta side with marinara/meat sauce or salad. I always request the Penne with Bolognese sauce (which is another $2 extra). I always enjoy the Pork Chop Voldostang. Everything here is just very well flavored and well executed. A few notes: it gets PACKED during dinner time so if you intend to eat there be ready for a 10-20 minute wait. They do deliver but it takes them a very long time and their delivery zone isn't too broad. They don't have a full bar but they do have a wine and beer selection. It's Italian-American food, the key word here is "AMERICAN" so my dear Italian friends, I once again ask you to tune your palate to the American channel and not Italia. This is the place to go for a yummy hearty dinner with friends without frills or jackets and ties but with good enough food to make you feel like it's Thanksgiving... in July! read more
