I have been going to this pizza joint for many years. Now being a Brooklynite I can't help feeling guilty that I love these deep dish pies so much lol. This pizzeria is located in the shopping center of Caesar's Bay. The restaurant is always clean, the staff is always friendly, helpful, and professional. The owner is always present and still on top of his game. I have tried everything they make in this restaurant. But I find myself ordering the margarita slice more times than not. Sandwiches are good as well as their rolls. Honestly the only thing they need work on are their mozzarella sticks. But it's not bad enough to give this establishment less than 5 stars. They have a good niche and have the deep dish pie down on lock. I will be coming here for many more years to come. read more

Didn't think I could eat bad pizza in Brooklyn. Waited 20 minutes for 2 slices to heat up in the oven. Sauce was from a can for sure, the pizza had no flavor! I had the nonna style slice and I had to dump chili flakes and garlic onto it to tolerate the lack of taste. First time ordering anything but pizza from D' Amore. Usually when we are down near Best Buy or kohl's I'll always stop for a slice. I love their pizza. I was on grub hub and when they popped up I decided to check out the menu. I was surprised, lol, I always thought it was just pizza, rolls, rice balls etc. so I ordered lasagna and a regular mixed salad. Hubs got the pasta with meat sauce, prosciutto and mushrooms. The lasagna was full of meat, I actually saw ricotta and plenty of mozzarella, sauce was good too. Salad was just a regular mixed salad, iceberg, red onions, cucumbers and tomato. Everything was fresh, it looked fresh besides tasting that way. The lasagna noodles were perfectly cooked! Not mushy at all. Next time we'll try something different. I've passed their other store on Ave U and it's always crowded with people sitting and eating more then just pizza. Before there was Kohls, there was Cesar's Bay and before that- Korvette's. When I went to Cavallaro JHS- we often came here for a square. Their Sicilians are what they were known for and we would sit in a booth and have a slice and a coke. Well the booths are still here and the pizza tastes the same. Think the name changed, but they kept the Sicilian recipe. Though cooked by different folks and slightly remodeled, that Sicilian is stellar- flavor, crispy crust, sauce, cheese- it is a classic, Brooklyn square! read more

I have been to D`Amore a few times over the years but this was my first time placing the delivery order on the phone, the woman was very nice and patient. We had a few questions. In the end we got a Med 1/2 Ricotta 1/2 Sausage...nice covering with the sausage...cooked perfectly. Grilled veg antipasto was ok, had a lot of stuff which was great. Calamari was still warm and crispy when it arrived at my door. AND everything came within a good amount of time, (I think faster than she quoted us, which is rare). Hard to find a pizza place that makes excellent pizza and the rest of their food is great..So many pizza parlors but so few truly good ones. D`Amore never disappoints. read more

One of the rare mom and pop pizzerias that still make pizza with crusts that are actually crusty. Most pizzerias these days produce floppy pizzas, which are abominations! Been going to and ordering pizza from here since I used to work at zbest carwash just out side ceases bay.....alas it has become a stop and store (storage building)....so about 18 or 20 years.. They have excellent pizza, and other pizzeria stuff (rolls, fireballs, etc) The place itself has alot of seating and is usually busy. Considering I live in Coney island (not too close), delivery is always prompt and correct. Tis the season for shopping and this location is nestled in a shopping center with Kohl's, Baby's R Us, Best Buy and other stores. I was glad to notice this venue bc I had a hankering for a slice of Sicilian pizza! The place has plenty of seating but it was a little odd ordering because there is no real counter with a register, You just order over the glass enclosed pizza. When it was my turn to order I came across a glass encased display that had REAL zeppoles!!!! And ONLY 3/$1! I nearly lost my mind! I haven't had this kind of zeppole in over a year and it was at a Long Island feast! I was soooo happy! The zeppole didn't disappoint, it was warm, sweet and doughy with the perfect amount of crisp. I did order the sicilian slice also! Though I probably could have just eaten all three zepp's! lol The Sicilian was a tad flatter than I'm used to but the sauce and cheese were good and it was perfectly cooked. I've been living in Bensonhurst over 20 years and never have I had the pizza or visited this pizzeria until earlier this year. My boyfriend and I ended up here because most of the pizzerias we called in Bensonhurst didn't make medium pies which was what we wanted and needed. My boyfriend called up Pizza D'Amore and they said they make medium pies so we ordered a mushroom pie (I forgot how much it cost). We arrived at the pizzeria on a Monday afternoon and it was majorly crowded, noisy, and dirty. It was especially crowded because it just happened to be Mid-Winter recess. There was a lot of empty and greasy plates laying around certain tables and crumbs (how eye-catching). The pizza in the display windows didn't look very appealing. We also ordered mozzarella sticks too. The mushroom pizza was mediocre. It certainly wasn't the best pizza that I've had. I think on a scale between 1 to 5, the mushroom pizza would be a 2 (second lowest). It didn't taste very good compared to other pizzerias I've been to and it was cold-ish when we picked it up. The mozzarella sticks were falling apart (unhappy face) even before I touched it and in my opinion, it was a little too salty. Everything else here is also a little pricey. Overall, I was having some high expectations from Pizza D'Amore since it's been around for a very long time and I thought it must taste good or doing something good if it's been in business for this long. I'm a HUGE fan of pizza. And I'm picky with my pizza. But this PIZZA is SO good! The sauce was perfect! I had the BBQ chicken slice and it was great, it was so big and filling... but you know you can never just eat one slice... who does that... I had a square and I seriously loved that too. I don't know if the rest of these reviewers were high out of their minds when they went here, or just don't know what good food is. If they liked this garbage pizza, they'd probably think Mama Celeste makes a mean pizza-pie for $1 in their grocery store's frozen food section. I went here after going to Best Buy which is nextdoor. I was -starving-, and thought anything would do. I was wrong. I ordered a deep slice of their meaty pizza, a standard slice of pepperoni, an order of (over-priced) mozzarella sticks, and a Coke. Note that I ordered a Coca-Cola, from their Coca-Cola fountain. Upon receiving my drink while I waited for my food I took a sip from the straw and, having a discerning palate, I looked up to the woman behind the counter and said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I asked for a coke." She responded that it was a coke, and I said as nicely as I could, "This isn't a Coca-Cola, I'm sure it's some sort of cola, but it's not Coke, and that's what I ordered." Her only response was, "Well, it's not Pepsi!" I said I was sure if we went to the taps we would find it was generic-brand cola syrup being fed to the fountain and she said (as rudely as humanly possible), "Well, you already paid for it, so you might as well drink it." I'm sorry, I worked in a restaurant for quite some time, and I know my tastes. It only costs you a few pennies, so just give me my money back and throw out the f-ing soda. It's not a big loss to make a customer happy. When I sat down to eat, the deep-dish meat pizza was foul. I don't think the dough had been cooked all the way through in half the pizza, but somehow the crust itself was almost rock-hard inedible. The pepperoni slice was slimy and soggy, but still not as unappetizing as the deep-dish slice with it's burnt crumbles of sausage. The mozzarella sticks were pretty crummy considering how simple it is to toss frozen cheesesticks into the fryer, and I felt like a sucker for paying as much as I did for the half-order. I drank about a quarter of the off-brand cola, crammed as much of the disgusting food down my throat as I could, and tossed the crusts and full cup into the trash can. As I left, I took a picture of the tacky neon sign outside so I would remember this awful establishment's name. OH. GOD. I almost forgot the music piping through this place. Imagine being stuck on hold with the utility company, but at a high volume, while you eat. It was like a radio station which catered to people who only owned one album, and it was the soundtrack to Titanic or something. What a disaster. read more

This place has been here for a long time and I have been eating from here a long time. I first started eating here when ever I went shopping in that area but that I found out they deliver to my house so we would order from here sometimes. There pizza always taste excellent! I never had a day were it didn't taste good. They also have a couple of the special slices or you can add your own toppings on them too. Another thing I loved to order from here is there wraps and they make a few different kinds. They have a Mexican one that I loved it came with chicken, peppers, lettuce cheese and some sauce and it was so tasteful. The other one I used to get a lot was the chicken caesar salad one and that was really good. They also have stuff like mozzarella sticks and fried ravioli and you can get some sauce on the side with them. To end off the meal you can get zeppoles! They make them here!! I ordered food via the Yelp app since it was Friday and did not want to cook. I ordered a pie of cheese pizza and some buffalo wings. The food arrived faster than anticipated which was great. The pizza was delicious but the reason I didn't give this place a 5 was because of the wings. When I order buffalo wings I expect them to have some type of spicy sauce on them. I received plain chicken wings with blue cheese on the side. I called the restaurant and they explain that the menu should not read that way. Anyway, my boyfriend ended up eating the wings. Bought from this place for my daughters and wife. They ordered AND PAID for a Sicilian pie with pepperoni which they charged me in full. The delivery arrived late They delivered half pepperoni and the delivery guy had the nerve to reply "no tip"? when I called they passed the phone around like a hot potato to about 4 staff members. Got to love there thin Sicilian. Many great dishes and staff is very friendly. One thing though they recently raised prices which is fine. But I recently ordered a wrap and asked them to add American cheese.. They charged me 2 bucks for two slices of Kraft cheese which I felt was ridiculous. So glad Pizza Damore has multiple locations. I don't want to trek all the way over to Mill Basin just for my fix. This location is more of a pizza joint than the Mill Basin location which has a dining room. It's all good to me though! This was my first time at this location. I didn't have my contacts in or my glasses with me, so I couldn't read the menu and unfortunately they didn't have any handheld menus for the vision impaired. The counter guy told me in his super thick Italian accent that they were redoing the menus. So off the top of my head I ordered the Frankie Special pasta. Verdict? Pizza WAYYY better than the Mill Basin spot somehow and the pasta was just about the same (still banging though!) I hereby declare this Pizza Damore on par with the other location! I LOVE this place! My fiancee is a Kohl's junkie, and we look forward to the pizza here every time we're in the shopping center where it's located. Quite frankly, I'm shocked by the 1 and 2 star reviews. I got to this yelp page thinking they'd at least have a solid 4 star rating. Pizza D'Amore, is BY FAR, the best pizza in the area. I've gone here more times than I can remember over the past 10 years, and I've never been disappointed. Their crust is, quite possibly, the best I've ever had. Really. Their sauce and cheese are solid. Their spinach rolls are fantastic! They have a large amount of toppings and food options. Their prices are average, I'd say. I've never used the bathrooms here, so I can't comment on their cleanliness, but there's a Best Buy and Kohl's right next door, so if you've gotta go, and you don't find this pizzeria's facilities up to par, you can always go next door! I can't comment on their coca-cola syrup either, as I don't drink caffeinated beverages (stupid heart problem - it sucks), but they have a cooler with a lot of drink options. Now keep in mind, this is a pizzeria in a shopping center. It isn't Totonno's or Lombardi's, or even Di Fara. But for what it is, it's great! read more

This place was absolute garbage, the baked clams were so disgusting i cant even begin to describe it.
