I've been calling this my hidden gem pizza spot, but now I'm spilling the beans. Pizza di Roma is near my house strangely at the bottom of a random apartment complex next to I-35. Yet they make a few different stlyes of pizza... napoletana and pinsa romana. I've only had the pinsa romana slices, and recently I ordered a full tray. Just look at the picture. The pizza is awesome!

This is my new favorite pizza place. The owner, Tony, was so nice and shared that his pizza crust recipe has a unique mixture of several types of flours (ie 0, 00 and semolina) that he has specifically crafted to achieve the perfect crust consistency. Honestly, the bread that comes with your order is some of the best I've ever had. It's chewy, fluffy and has a great flavor. We got the pizza that is rectangular--I forget what it's called. It was the prosciutto and mushroom one. It is the fluffier crust versus the Neapolitan-style, which is a thinner crust. We also got the pasta Bolognese, which had a really great flavor as well. I forgot to ask him if he makes the pasta too, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did. I really enjoyed the food here and we are definitely coming back again! Thanks, Tony.

First time going to Pizza di Roma, and I can say it definitely won't be the last time. We ordered a Margherita pizza and mozzarella sticks. Everything was perfectly cooked. I hate it when cheese sticks are overcooked. Same with the pie, Margherita has to be done just right, especially with the thinner bottom crust. They use San Marzano tomatoes (my absolute favorite) in their sauces. San Marzano tomato flavor just stands out from other breeds of tomatoes. Pizza di Roma really captures the essence of the tomato. Mixed with other fresh ingredients like cheese, basil, etc. makes everything on the menu a recipe for YUM!

YUMMM! This place definitely deserts five stars! The ambiance, customer service and food are all top tier. The pizza was reheated to have that crispy crust and the pizza itself melts in your mouth. Gourmet all the way.

Nice little pizza spot that probably doesn't get as attention as it should. Nothing fancy, no fuss, but great pizza. Service was quick and friendly and the prices are reasonable.

Menu and kitchen area. Clean, good stuff.

This was a delightful surprise. Not what we expected from the profile - a bit smaller - many locals from surrounding townhouse / apartments doing pickups. We almost left - but smelled good, we'd come the way, tables open.. so went for it. All of got different Napolitano style pizzas - one gluten free in our group... the pizzas were outstanding. Seemed family ownership, friendly service, great music being played - This place on our list. We will be back.

Inviting relaxed atmosphere and fresh delicious pizzas. We ordered the Napoleon style crust with pepperoni and green olive, the caprese salad (comes with arugula!) and then 2 slices of the Roman style, which is crispier and twice baked. All was great!! The magic seems to be in the crust.

Pizza di Roma is unexpectedly incredible. Tiny little pizza and pasta shop that features both Roma style and Neapolitan style pizzas. We ordered a whole Roma style pepperoni and onion - simply the best. The owner shared that they ferment the dough for two days! Crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. We ordered the spaghetti pomodoro - tastes like an Italian nonna made it. And the Mediterranean salad was ‍ - chef's kiss. Service was lovely and the space was clean. Highly recommend. They also sell pizza by the slice. Wish we took photos - everyone was starved.

We chatted about Rome and so he brought me a slice of Roma pizza! The crust was crazy good!! I give it an A+!

Just had the best pizza in Austin Texas! I am a pizza fanatic and this place is a little hole in the wall and worth the trip! Met the owner super nice guy and knows his pizza! He uses only the best ingredients and proofs the dough for 48 hours using top notch flour and yeast! I haven't had pizza this good since I went to Italy. I was so bummed all the pizza places that looked good closed at 9:00. This place is open till 10:00! So happy! I'm from New Orleans and we just get started at 9:00!!

This place is a true gem! Absolutely delicious slices of pizza. I like to get a bunch of stuff so I don't get food fomo and I'm glad I did. Got meatballs as an appetizer which comes with 3 meatballs in a delicious sauce I was dunking crust and the bread in. I got a few slices (margherita and funghi) that were great. Great toppings and also very reasonably priced per slice. I also made sure to buy a tray for the family so I'll get more feedback on the pinsa di Roma slices later. But it smelled absolutely delicious in the car. But the standout? Their rigatoni amatriciana was so freaking delicious. Perfectly cooked fresh pasta and the flavor bomb. I have zero food regrets

If you're searching for some of the best Italian food in Austin, look no further than Pizza di Roma! This little restaurant is located in a mixed use building that I may have driven by 100 times if my friends didn't recommend, they are serving up some of the most authentic and delicious Italian cuisine in town. The pizza is simply outstanding--perfectly crisp yet chewy crust, topped with fresh, high-quality ingredients that transport you straight to Italy with every bite. Go for a classic Margherita or a pepperoni pie, it's wonderful . Big props for selling by the slice. And let's talk about the pasta--an absolute comfort food game-changer! It seems to be made fresh in-house, with that perfect al dente bite and rich, flavorful sauces that make you want to savor every forkful. The spaghetti and meatballs and Rigatoni are must-tries! The spicy rigatoni was our favorite. Whether you're dining in or grabbing a pizza to-go, Pizza di Roma never disappoints. A true taste of Italy right in the heart of Austin--highly recommend!

Great pizza and wonderful service! Came in for a quick lunch and ordered a slice of pizza funghi and the rigatoni amatriciana. They warmed up the pizza slice and it was delicious, perfect crisp to the crust, melty cheese and plenty of mushrooms. Then came the pasta which was made fresh. Piping hot rigatoni and perfect amount of sauce, I couldn't taste the guanciale but still delicious nonetheless. Fast friendly service and would return to try another slice or pasta!

The East Austin location can get pretty busy, so it's best to arrive early if you want to avoid a long wait. There's even a cute cat that roams around, which adds to the charm. The Carbonara Alexandra has always been my favorite. The bread at Patrizi's is truly unmatched in any form. Marfa tomatoes were so fresh!! Entrees: the Great Leopold and Karah's Diavolo (we had a ton of leftovers, as the portions are deceptively large). Love having so many vegetarian options and especially one with a nut-free pesto. Finally, the kitchen happened to have an extra beets dish and passed it over to us (which was so nice!!)-- I will actually order this one in the future as the taste was splendid and unique. I highly recommend ordering family style for the table but make sure your whole party is on board with splitting the check evenly because the restaurant does not break up the check according to diners only split evenly, I believe up to four ways. Example: Our check was $822 (included gratuities) for seven people and we were only able to split evenly four ways. Roughly $118 each. It is what it is but I didn't even get a main course. Just a glass of wine, a half of a piece of bruschetta, some of the Caesar salad and a small portion of the gnocchi (all shared) I'm glad I got to experience Red Ash, but now that I've checked that off my list, I'm good.

After giving our keys away we walked into what is a beautiful outside area at Juliet's. It's a nice mix of feeling like you're in downtown Austin but also not. We went inside to request two seats outside and this is unfortunately where everything fell apart. After being seated all the way at the very corner of the restaurant near the entrance, we didn't receive water for 15 minutes. In fact, we had to ask for water, as well as silverware, from a person who was cleaning a table- not a waiter. We didn't order until about 30 minutes after being seated. We noticed that others around us who were dressed nicer for the occasion were receiving service but we were not (jeans and a nice top as opposed to a dressy outfit). This is less of an accusation and more of an observation. It took another waiter noticing that we had not been served to come over and take our order, and that was 5 minutes after we had to flag down a busser to ask for water. The flip side of that whole first part is that the food was pretty good. We got complimentary table bread (after we asked for it since it never came before our main meal) that was soft and went well with the olive oil it came with. For our entrees we got the shrimp scampi and chicken parm. The shrimp scampi was fantastic and light with creamy and bold flavors in-between. The chicken parm was maybe the largest chicken cutlet we've seen given out at a restaurant. Not only was the cutlet massive but it was delicious as well with a nice, light breading and cheese on top. The spaghetti alongside it was a nice touch but this was a true chicken parm entree as it should be. We were offered a complimentary dessert as an apology for the miscues before we ate but turned it down (still good of them to offer). Leaving was easy as the valet was very attentive and quick to get our car. We wish we could say our time at Juliet's was perfect because the setting and food are very nice and a fun change of pace from the surrounding blocks. However, it's difficult to overlook the mistakes made from the jump. We noticed that another table next to us was also experiencing bad service and looked unhappy enough to leave in the middle of their meal/ We're always open to having good food again so hopefully the next time we're here things are different. Just an unfortunate bittersweet taste to what otherwise would have been a fantastic meal.

Such a good find in Austin!…read more If you're ever craving pasta, this is the place to stop by. We went on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy, but everyone who came in was still able to get a table. It feels very authentic. No Italian-American staples like Alfredo, meatballs, or garlic bread, which was actually refreshing since I'm so used to that style. You can either sit down first and take your time with the menu, or order in line before grabbing a table. Either way, they're very chill about it. Another cool thing: they're BYOB and will even cork it for you. Saw other guests bring their own glasses too, which was a nice touch. The pasta is clearly fresh. I'd recommend the macaroni with mushrooms and sausage. I got the tagliatelle with lemon shrimp cream sauce and loved it, though now I'm curious to try one of their non-cream-based sauces next time.
