Our order: Rigatoni Amatriciana, Polpette di Casa (meatballs), Pizza Prosciutto Funghi Porcini, Roma Pepperoni Pizza slice, & Margherita Pizza slice. The pizza slices were perfect. If you like pepperoni, you'll LOVE their Roma Pepperoni. So much pepperoni per slice, it's great! The Margherita slice was equally delicious. The Pizza Prosciutto Funghi was surprisingly good. It sounded good when we ordered it, but it was better than expected when we bit into it. The meatballs are tasty and the Amatriciana has an authentic flavor to it. This is by far the best Italian restaurant and pizza place in Austin. As I live nearby, I've been here so many times that I've had the pleasure of getting to know the owner and his team who run this cozy establishment. I've never been disappointed. The calzones are nice and filling. The pizza is made from a well fermented high quality dough and you can tell in the texture and flavor. I've never been bloated eating here. The sauces are flavorful. I often come here for the Chicken Parm panuozzo and the chicken parm spaghetti. I also really enjoy the panuozzo con prosciutto. As for appetizers, the suppli is fantastic. Found this place recently and gave it a try on two separate occasions (both pick up). First one i had the funghi pizza and a slice of lasagna, the pizza was WAY too salty, I believe they marinate some of their mushrooms as well as fresh ones and that was just overkill. The lasagna however was delicious, pasta was overcooked but the sauce made up for it. Now second time we ordered the classic margarita pizza and bolognese. The pizza was okay, very soggy in the middle due to the high amounts of oil used and the bolognese was the blandest sauce I've tried in a long time, again pasta was super overcooked, you couldn't twirl the pasta because it instantly turned into mush. That was a one bite and done experience for us. All in all, the staff was pretty unfriendly on both occasions, not sure what that was about. Can't have mediocre food and be rude, gotta pick a battle lol. Will most likely not be back unless it's specifically for the lasagna. You guys have such a great foundation to work with, a few small Improvements could really make a difference (coming to you from someone also owning a business in the food industry) read more

Fantastic food and service! The pizza Roma style was delicious. The crust was perfect, the sauce super flavorful and a lot of great quality toppings. Every inch was covered in pepperoni. A hidden gem and hands down one of the most authentic Italian (real Italian, not American Italian) restaurants here in Austin. We checked it out on Wed after seeing this place on IG, and it's wonderful to finally find a place that serves pasta similar to what we had in Italy. The pinsa (Roman-style pizza) slices were hot and fresh, and the crust was absolutely delicious. It's more like fresh bread than standard pizza crust. The standouts are the pastas. Ask for them to be made authentic style to get the true flavors of Italy. The pasta were perfectly al dente and the sauces were perfectly seasoned. The tomato sauce for the rigatoni was well-balanced; not overly acidic or sweet. The procini mushroom pasta (not on the menu) was creamy and fragrant. We're going to be going back often!! read more

Back two weeks after our first visit because we couldn't wait to try more pasta dishes. I got the tagliatelle bolognese and shared with my daughter. We finished the entire bowl (generous portions) and took home the leftover sauce because it was too good to let it go to waste. My partner got the fettuccine Alfredo and finished his entire bowl too. Pasta was perfectly cooked and the flavors and consistency of the sauces were incredible. We got a couple slices to take home for dinner. The sauce on the margherita was so fresh and good yet somehow the crust didn't get soggy at all, even after brining it home and reheating. Next time I go I want to try the panuzzos, but it'll be impossible not to order pasta while I'm there too. Super friendly service again this time. I am so happy to have found this local gem!! Never have I ever had such a delicious salad, they really know how to do it!! Everything's so fresh and crisp. We also tried the pizza and pasta. The pizza was so yummy. I've never had any bread like that before. The pasta was slightly undercooked, but the flavor was amazing. I'm pretty sure it was a one off. I'd also prefer the bacon to be a little crispier, but again, the flavor was fresh and delicious. I met the owner and although I didn't get his name, I really appreciated his presence and service. It wasn't til I went to Italy a few years ago that I really started to think it was possible to have great pizza (I always think of pizza as comfort food so good pizza is tasty but nothing special). The pizza at Pizza di Roma is on par with some pizza I had in Pompeii, which is a high compliment. We also got their cheese sticks which were OK, but the pizza was great!
