I've been calling this my hidden gem pizza spot, but now I'm spilling the beans. Pizza di Roma is near my house strangely at the bottom of a random apartment complex next to I-35. Yet they make a few different stlyes of pizza... napoletana and pinsa romana. I've only had the pinsa romana slices, and recently I ordered a full tray. Just look at the picture. The pizza is awesome!

This is my new favorite pizza place. The owner, Tony, was so nice and shared that his pizza crust recipe has a unique mixture of several types of flours (ie 0, 00 and semolina) that he has specifically crafted to achieve the perfect crust consistency. Honestly, the bread that comes with your order is some of the best I've ever had. It's chewy, fluffy and has a great flavor. We got the pizza that is rectangular--I forget what it's called. It was the prosciutto and mushroom one. It is the fluffier crust versus the Neapolitan-style, which is a thinner crust. We also got the pasta Bolognese, which had a really great flavor as well. I forgot to ask him if he makes the pasta too, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did. I really enjoyed the food here and we are definitely coming back again! Thanks, Tony.

First time going to Pizza di Roma, and I can say it definitely won't be the last time. We ordered a Margherita pizza and mozzarella sticks. Everything was perfectly cooked. I hate it when cheese sticks are overcooked. Same with the pie, Margherita has to be done just right, especially with the thinner bottom crust. They use San Marzano tomatoes (my absolute favorite) in their sauces. San Marzano tomato flavor just stands out from other breeds of tomatoes. Pizza di Roma really captures the essence of the tomato. Mixed with other fresh ingredients like cheese, basil, etc. makes everything on the menu a recipe for YUM!

YUMMM! This place definitely deserts five stars! The ambiance, customer service and food are all top tier. The pizza was reheated to have that crispy crust and the pizza itself melts in your mouth. Gourmet all the way.

Nice little pizza spot that probably doesn't get as attention as it should. Nothing fancy, no fuss, but great pizza. Service was quick and friendly and the prices are reasonable.

Menu and kitchen area. Clean, good stuff.

This was a delightful surprise. Not what we expected from the profile - a bit smaller - many locals from surrounding townhouse / apartments doing pickups. We almost left - but smelled good, we'd come the way, tables open.. so went for it. All of got different Napolitano style pizzas - one gluten free in our group... the pizzas were outstanding. Seemed family ownership, friendly service, great music being played - This place on our list. We will be back.

Inviting relaxed atmosphere and fresh delicious pizzas. We ordered the Napoleon style crust with pepperoni and green olive, the caprese salad (comes with arugula!) and then 2 slices of the Roman style, which is crispier and twice baked. All was great!! The magic seems to be in the crust.

Pizza di Roma is unexpectedly incredible. Tiny little pizza and pasta shop that features both Roma style and Neapolitan style pizzas. We ordered a whole Roma style pepperoni and onion - simply the best. The owner shared that they ferment the dough for two days! Crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. We ordered the spaghetti pomodoro - tastes like an Italian nonna made it. And the Mediterranean salad was ‍ - chef's kiss. Service was lovely and the space was clean. Highly recommend. They also sell pizza by the slice. Wish we took photos - everyone was starved.

We chatted about Rome and so he brought me a slice of Roma pizza! The crust was crazy good!! I give it an A+!

Just had the best pizza in Austin Texas! I am a pizza fanatic and this place is a little hole in the wall and worth the trip! Met the owner super nice guy and knows his pizza! He uses only the best ingredients and proofs the dough for 48 hours using top notch flour and yeast! I haven't had pizza this good since I went to Italy. I was so bummed all the pizza places that looked good closed at 9:00. This place is open till 10:00! So happy! I'm from New Orleans and we just get started at 9:00!!

This place is a true gem! Absolutely delicious slices of pizza. I like to get a bunch of stuff so I don't get food fomo and I'm glad I did. Got meatballs as an appetizer which comes with 3 meatballs in a delicious sauce I was dunking crust and the bread in. I got a few slices (margherita and funghi) that were great. Great toppings and also very reasonably priced per slice. I also made sure to buy a tray for the family so I'll get more feedback on the pinsa di Roma slices later. But it smelled absolutely delicious in the car. But the standout? Their rigatoni amatriciana was so freaking delicious. Perfectly cooked fresh pasta and the flavor bomb. I have zero food regrets

If you're searching for some of the best Italian food in Austin, look no further than Pizza di Roma! This little restaurant is located in a mixed use building that I may have driven by 100 times if my friends didn't recommend, they are serving up some of the most authentic and delicious Italian cuisine in town. The pizza is simply outstanding--perfectly crisp yet chewy crust, topped with fresh, high-quality ingredients that transport you straight to Italy with every bite. Go for a classic Margherita or a pepperoni pie, it's wonderful . Big props for selling by the slice. And let's talk about the pasta--an absolute comfort food game-changer! It seems to be made fresh in-house, with that perfect al dente bite and rich, flavorful sauces that make you want to savor every forkful. The spaghetti and meatballs and Rigatoni are must-tries! The spicy rigatoni was our favorite. Whether you're dining in or grabbing a pizza to-go, Pizza di Roma never disappoints. A true taste of Italy right in the heart of Austin--highly recommend!

Great pizza and wonderful service! Came in for a quick lunch and ordered a slice of pizza funghi and the rigatoni amatriciana. They warmed up the pizza slice and it was delicious, perfect crisp to the crust, melty cheese and plenty of mushrooms. Then came the pasta which was made fresh. Piping hot rigatoni and perfect amount of sauce, I couldn't taste the guanciale but still delicious nonetheless. Fast friendly service and would return to try another slice or pasta!

The area is quite small but I went at 10:30 on a Tuesday and it wasn't too crowded. The front parking is horrid but there's also parking in the back. I tried the turkish eggs and the mortadella sandwich. We wanted to try the cookie as well but they unfortunately had sold out because of a large order before us. Very sad but maybe another time. Turkish eggs: 3.5/5 The eggs were perfectly cooked and the chili oil had nice garlic flavor. The bread was lovely quality. The sauce wasn't my favorite and I don't think it paired well together but it wasn't bad. Mortadella sandwich: 4.5/5 This was the star of the show. The bread is great and the pesto brightens the sandwich up. The arugula is a nice touch and the cheese is delicate. There's a ton of meat which I appreciated. Last week I was on a break from keto, and my husband read my mind. He took me here as the first stop on a rainy Friday night date. I know they have good sandwiches, but they also have their "bait shop" schtick. They're not near any significant fishing spots, and I didn't see any evidence of bait, but whatever. Their sandwiches are good, so they can get away with it. While I ate my sandwich on the patio, we discussed the novelty nature of many Austin businesses, and which ones can hold up and which ones are pure hype. I ordered the Club sandwich. It's not a true triple-decker club, but it was the sandwich that had the best variety of fillings in my opinion. Everything you'd expect in a classic club, but easier to eat because it wasn't stacked absurdly tall like other clubs. The sourdough bread was very crispy, and the meats, cheese, and vegetables worked well inside. On the side I got potato salad which I like more than their other option, which was chips, but the potato salad wasn't anything special. Their patio was the perfect spot to enjoy a rainstorm. They have some glider chairs off to the side that are good for lounging on, but when it really started to rain we moved in to the center of the patio. I'm glad I got a chance to try Handsome Dan's. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon because huge sandwiches like this need to be an occasional treat for me, but if you're in the Springdale area looking for a satisfying meal, this is it!

I've been for both lunch and dinner, and lunch is clearly the peak time, which makes sense given the sandwich, salad, and soup menu. It feels built for the midday lunch crowd. The kitchen runs very efficiently, the line moves quickly, and online ordering is very easy. It's counter service, but I've taken meals to go a few times and everything traveled well. As of February 2026, it still has that brand new restaurant feel. The interior is bright, clean, and modern, and there's a ton of outdoor seating. However, you are just off 38th Street and across from the Seton medical complex, so al fresco dining may not be the quietest experience depending on traffic and time of day. Overall, a great addition to the area for lunch (or dinner).

Kitchen and smoothie room in the back. The staff running this place are quite nice. The choice of artwork adorning the walls appears to be different from other Soup Peddlers. What's good about Soup Peddler? Despite their name, I prefer their smoothies over their soups. Their soups are prepared offsite and delivered in the morning to all Soup Peddler locations. Thus, no location is aware or can predict what will be on their menu for soup specials each day through the week. However, other than their daily specials, they usually have a set soup menu. Their soups are served in a paper cup, and you can get crackers and oyster crackers with them. They also offer grilled cheese sandwiches. Those sandwiches are, well, pretty small and simple. I've had their Apple-Muenster Grilled Cheese, no complaints. Don't expect to be filled up on that though. Again, smoothies are where it's at. They offer monthly smoothie specials, discounted daily smoothie specials, and staff favorite creations. Of course, you can always create and customize your own. I tend to get their matcha, turmeric, or banana and nut based smoothies. Any sweetness is obtained from their fruits used, but sometimes date syrup is used as an ingredient. Anyways, smoothies are yum, and that's why I keep coming back.
