Went there this first thing in the morning when they opened at 1100. Noticed empty parking lot and were the first customer of the day. Upon entering, was greeted by a young cashier. She had the most warm, welcoming and friendliest smile. She took our order quickly and was very polite said we could eat either inside or outside seating. We sat inside on the bench table and waited about 10 minutes until she brought us our hot wings with bones and pizza. The hot wings tasted okay but the small size pizza with pepperoni was very fresh and surprisingly excellent quality, not oily at all and perfect bread thickness and taste. Overall, excellent customer staff service, good price and great quality not-oily pizza, would definitely buy again if I happen to stop by.

Just because it's located in the middle of California, you can still have Great pizza , can't go wrong really good pizza. My salad was Greek humongous w real lettuce not just regular iceberg filled w chopped red onions, bell peppers feta cheese, cucumbers and zucchini. Seating indoors or outdoors w a decent view of trees. Served in a timely manner too. They did not have the cheese ravioli my granddaughter wanted so she settled for the chicken fettuccine, she said it was mid. ( I think that means good)

Small "Big D" pizza (ironic, I know) with sausage instead of pepperoni. Delicious!

Last time we ate here about a year ago, we were not too impressed. Pizza was lackluster at best. However! On my recent visit this weekend, I got a small big D pizza, with sausage instead of pepperoni. It was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. It was delicious and made with definite care and thoughtfulness. Toppings were plentiful, fresh and tasty. It was just a really, really good pizza.

Me and some friends went to the Pizza Factor Saturday evening because it was the nearest restaurant in North Fork. We ordered for take out because the summer heat made the restaurant feel like the inside of an oven. The service was great and the cashier was friendly, but the food is mediocre. It took about 30 minutes for the food to be prepared, so if you decide to eat here, order ahead for pick up.

The food and prices both completely exceeded our expectations. I ordered the lasagna, and my wife had the shrimp scampi. The shrimp were absolutely huge, and the portions for both dishes were more than generous. The lasagna was exactly the style I love -- not overly soupy, with perfectly cooked noodles and great flavor throughout. We also ordered a caprese salad and four adult beverages, and our total bill was only around $100, which was surprisingly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. We'll definitely be coming back.

The food was bland and lacked flavor across the board. My daughter's chicken was poorly trimmed and had visible fat on it. My own meal didn't arrive with the rest of the table because the wrong plate was brought out, and it had to be remade. By the time I received my correct dish, everyone else was halfway through their meal. Service was also lacking. We had to ask multiple times for drink refills, and there was no acknowledgment, apology, or attempt to make things right after the delays and food issues. For a restaurant that is only open limited hours each week, we expected a much higher level of quality and attention. Sadly, this was one of the worst Italian dining experiences we've had. We hope management takes steps to improve both food quality and customer service.

Ravioli Bolognese: The standout dish. Rich, meaty, satisfying, and exactly the kind of homemade pasta dish that makes this place worth visiting. Pepperoni Pizza: Excellent crust, good char, and crispy pepperoni cups. Simple and really well executed. This is genuinely good pizza, not just good pizza for a mountain town. Caesar: One of the more unusual Caesars I've had. It arrived with essentially whole heads of lettuce, celery, and a homemade crunchy component that reminded us of a savory funnel cake. The homemade dressing was excellent. Different, fun to share, and memorable. Pasta: This is where Vulcania really shines. Everything tastes homemade, and I'd be comfortable ordering just about any pasta on the menu. Chicken Parmesan: Pretty good overall, with a creamy, rich sauce over the top. It was a little too heavy for me, but everyone else at the table loved it. Meatball: I would skip this dish. The meatball was undercooked and felt like it was lacking a binding ingredient. One thing worth knowing is that the kitchen isn't particularly flexible about modifying dishes. That makes sense for a chef-driven restaurant, but it's worth considering if you have picky eaters or prefer lots of substitutions. Overall, Vulcania is still the best pizza and pasta we've had in Mammoth. The handmade pasta is the real draw, the pizza is excellent, and dishes like the Caesar give the menu enough personality to make it more interesting than standard Italian-American food.

I called and inquired about a few things and when we arrived, we were told a different story. Long story short, use OpenTable to make your reservations and avoid the headache. Outside Pods- If you're interested in sitting in the pods outside, it's an additional $50-100 (depending on the day) and can fit 6-8 people. We had several kids in our party and they enjoyed the novelty of it. Our waiter Cam was great and made up for the poor service with the host. He had great recommendations as all were spot on. Cam recommended "family style" as many of the entrees are large and it gives you a chance to sample everything. We started with the asparagus summer rolls and tricolore salad. Both were delicious and refreshing. For the entrees we shared the cacio e pepe, margherita pizza, orechiette nero and chicken parmesan. Again, everything was excellent. For dessert, the gelato comes with three huge scoops along with three zeppoles (Italian donuts). The food was excellent and probably one of my new favorites in Mammoth.

Some random American music was playing, I think. I like that the room felt a little old and a bit dark in tone, but that there was also a decent sized window that provided some brightness to contrast it well. The service was fine, I have no complaints here. The main thing that I'm not particularly fond of based on a single visit to this restaurant is the food. To start, there are a lot of things to choose from on the menu, and you can choose what meat that you want with your pasta. I don't particularly like that kind of set up to begin with, because there's a chance that I could choose a combination where the flavors don't really complement each other. I don't want to have to be a professional chef or even need to be knowledgeable in food in order to know what tastes good on the menu. In regards to the actual food itself, I thought it was weird that my raviolis already were kind of cold when they came out. In addition to that, none of the food I received striked me as particularly bursting with flavor. The flavors felt muted and a little bit dull. It wasn't bad, I just wouldn't call it a superb fine dining experience. If I'm back in Los Banos, I would want to try this place again, but I think that I should ask the server what I should order instead of trying to craft it myself.

Drinks and appetizer came out quickly until we had to wait for our mains. Didn't time it as we were still enjoying our evening but we waited an extended amount of time. Needless to say we weren't the only ones waiting. With the wait aside we absolutely LOVED our mains! The Gnocchi in the pink gorgonzola sauce was amazing! The gnocchi were soft, pillowy, and cheesy. The sauce was creamy with a sweetness from the tomato sauce with a slight acidity. Highly recommended. The ravioli rustica was delicious. Perfectly cooked ravioli were stuffed with spinach and cheese and sauced with a creamy sweet pea puree. All topped with slivered almonds, which added a nice nuttiness to the dish. Needless to say we cleared the plates. Dessert was their special pistachio tort. A flourless pistachio cake topped with rich chocolate ganache and more crushed pistachios. Rich and decadent. We also ordered their Crème Brûlée. Creamy, smooth, with a slight sweetness. The burnt sugar was perfectly torched with a great crackle. Would order again. A great experience nonetheless. Will definitely add to our rotation for date nights.

If a restaurant is going to add that kind of charge, it should be clearly disclosed upfront before customers order or make reservations. Pricing here has gotten out of control (a hamburger is 30-35 dollars....a *hamburger* ?!?), with service nothing particularly special. So you will be paying roughly double, or more, for the price of a menu roughly equivalent to the quality of an Applebee's. The restaurant will argue these are the new inflationary market prices, supply demand dynamics, summer travel pricing to offset slower winter travel season, etc etc. But reaming the customer ain't a great recipe for having folks like me ever returning.
