We ate here the other night, and honestly, I don't want to give any restaurants in Big Pine a bad review because it's my hometown, and there are VERY few restaurants to choose from. However, eating out is an expensive investment, and this place just isn't cutting it. Service was an issue, the place was being run by young people doing more visiting with each other than helping anyone and they took forever to accomplish anything they were asked to do, or had to be reminded that they were asked to do it. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, which was a mistake. We should have followed the lead of the locals, who all seemed to be ordering pizza. Our pasta was overcooked and the sauce seemed like a mix of canned tomato sauce and chopped tomatoes, devoid of any spice at all, not even salt. The meatballs were bland, as well. At best, this was cafeteria or hospital style spaghetti, certainly NOT Italian. read more

I had some time to kill and decided to grab a sub here; and I'm so glad I did! I ordered Giuseppe's Special, and it was absolutely packed with meat and incredibly delicious. The portion size was great, too. They had a few TVs on playing FIFA, which made the experience even better while I ate. The lady and gentleman working up front were both incredibly nice and truly made me feel at home. I actually wanted to come back the next day to try their pizza, but they were closed for the 4th of July. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area to try it! read more

The pizza is delicious! As with other reviews, you should give yourself an hour wait time after you order, although ours was done in about 45 minutes. We ordered take-out, but husband and son sat and had a beer while waiting. The interior is nostalgic and the service was friendly! read more

We stayed next door for the night and was drawn in my the good smells. The food was TERRIBLE and my husband was up sick all night from it. The pizza crust was tough and hard to eat. Calzone was flavorless. Garlic bread inedible. The food was also pricey. We will not be going back that's for sure. read more

Worst experience never going there again, my husband and I are locals. Before Two Brothers Pizza closed their service wasnt great would wait at least an hour or more for food and it was never made right. Would ask for no onions each time we ordered and they always put onions on it. When they opened we thought we would try it again and hoped the service changed but no. Waited 2 hours for a medium Pizza and 2 sandwiches, and once again put stuff on the pizza and sandwiches that we asked not to be on there. I stopped in here on my way home from a long solo road trip. I needed to make a stop for lunch and Bishop was looking way too busy. I found this spot down the road on the main street of Lone or Big Pine. Inside the place looks brand new. Very clean and nicely decorated with memorabilia celebrating the Sierras. They have more than just pizza so I ordered the lasagna, I was pretty pizza'ed out. The lasagna was delicious. I ordered a beer and was happy to see they had a selection of craft beer. I had high hopes for this place, and it did not disappoint. My family of 3 ordered a large pizza, garlic knots and 3 fountain drinks and it was well under $30. I even asked the owner how he could operate with prices this low. You can taste the freshness of the from scratch ingredients. It is a nice family run restaurant and you can tell they take pride in their work. On top of all this the building is historical. I don't know what a truly authentic pizza is supposed to be like, but I like that I can buy pizza by the slice here (sometimes). Their sandwiches are also delicious and they do not skimp on the meat. The small sandwich is more than enough for two people to split. I would skip the salad, though. One of the friendliest places I've ever been to! After a long day of driving and visiting Death Valley on our way back home, we decided to stop by the restaurant! As we had not eaten all day - we were starving and decided to stop here for a couple of slices of pizza and some garlic bread! The fact that we had not eaten all day had come up while talking to Gigi! And Gigi offered us more pizza than we had asked for - for free! She was super friendly and allowed us to eat in the store while we we waited on our garlic bread. Definitely one of the friendliest places I've been to! The pizza was pretty good, we had a couple of slices of pepperoni and a couple of slices of their cheese pizza. The highlight definitely was the garlic bread. It's a shame that the owners has no care to protect tourist and and locals alike. This establishment has good atmosphere and great food. It would be a shame for this spot to get shut down for lack of reasonable measures like using face masks it's not that hard. Many people will remember dining in the building thats once hosted Rossi's Steak & Spaghetti. Brett and Gia did a beautiful job restoring this historic local building and preserving the Big Pine history. Everything on the menu is great, I love their sandwiches, they're huge and if you're feeding a group the Giant 28" pizza is impressive and so good! The tiramisu is the best I've had. They are a sweet family operated business and treat their customers like family. I know the last few months they have been trying to adjust to being a small business surviving in this Covid-19 world. read more

Just finished a 4 day hike in Big Pine Lakes and they were just across the street as you drive out of the road led us up to our trail. All I said was, Pizza by the Slice, and it was just stuck in everyone's mind. We went across to check it out, hoping we don't smell too bad, and decided to stay for a bite. Really good combo deals such as two slices of cheese pizza and a drink was only $6 or two slices of your choice and drink for $7. After 4 days of eating dehydrated food, pizza sounded amazing and it tasted amazing. The place is well kept and clean with vintage decor. The staff were friendly and helpful when my friend asked about vegan options. He made it work, so we it was all good. They heated up our slices and it sure looked good. It was thin crust, but just enough fluff to taste like it's thicker. I got the pepperoni and cheese with a rootbeer. Wooooo that was delish. I took a bite of the cheese and then two bites of the pep, then back to the cheese with a sip of the rootbeer. It satisfied all of our stomach and was ready for the journey back home. My daughter stopped in on way home from first time visiting Mammoth. It was on recommendation from boyfriend whom stops when he goes hunting. The place is clean and they are a very friendly family! Pros: food is fresh, order was correct, food is tasty, service is friendly, environment is comfortable, food is affordable, restaurant is new, furnishings are nice, atmosphere is light, and air conditioning works. Pros: oven baked Italian sausage sandwich with peppers was tasty, but only warm. They left off the Italian dressing and mayonnaise as I requested. I was worried about this because the waitress couldn't note this on the computerized cash register. She told the guys in back. They apparently remembered even after an hour of cooking. Pros: Calzone was hot tasty and excellent and very sizable (it was the small one). Fully met expectations. Cons: it took exactly 60 minutes from when the receipt was printed to when the food was brought to the table. Restaurant was slightly more than half full. Server said the Calzone takes longer to cook when they are doing large pizzas. Cons: many people after us in line received their food before us. Note: they have 5 other restaurants. So I presume they'll figure out how to make this efficient. I will try this place again, but I'll give them a month first to see if they can dial in the cooking process. read more

We travel around a lot, as many now do, and pizza is one food that the whole family will eat. But not this pizza that we recently tried. When we order pricey pizza, you expect decent tasting pizza. When you order dominoes or little caesars, you know what you are going to get. This pizza from Two brothers from Italy (I'd be embarrassed if I was Italian after eating this pizza) was neither cheap nor edible. My kids get excited for pizza from the airport, pizza looking stuff from school, pizza from Little Caesar's and really good Pizza from a good pizza restaurant. They wouldn't finish their pizza from this place. I couldn't either. It had a cheap, old tasting cheese. I don't think I've ever thrown out fresh pizza before. But I have now. Yeah I get it, it's big pine, in the middle of Nowhere 395. But save your time and money. It really isn't worth it. read more
