I visited pizza guys 2 days ago and I was very hungry but was not in the mood to eat a pizza because, I am on a diet and I was shocked! when I knew that they got a lot of type of salads and wings. so I tried there crispy chicken salad with hot wings and it was mind blowing the salad was fresh and wings was really juicy & tasty and the price of everything was justified. I'm HIGHLY upset! While trying to place my order online the website kept stalling and updating itself. I FINALLY got my cart to act right after i signed in smh. I placed my order which was a xl all meat pizza and a orange soda. I get sent a email 45.93 was charged to my card i check my receipt and somehow the soda was deleted and 2 cheesecakes was added! I called the store explained the situation to TWO different people the manager finally says don't worry I'll take the cheesecakes off and add the soda and the money will be sent back to your card. Fast forward to the order i check the tracking app and it says my order has been delivered which it had NOT been 30 minutes later i get a call the food is outside with the WRONG ORDER!!! When I lived in Dublin, I used to order pizza guys all the time. Their restaurant was 15 minutes away from my house and the pizza would show up in 30 minutes. Hot, perfect and ready to eat. Trying to show loyalty to a company that has always treated me well, when I moved to Oakland I started ordering pizza guys again. Bad decision. A couple weeks ago I placed an order for a large pizza with buffalo wings and a soda. The entire order took one hour and 20 minutes to arrive. The pizza was cold. The soda was warm. I didn't make a fuss about it. Earlier today, I decided to give them another chance. I called them and identified myself with my phone number so they could see my purchase history. I let them know that my previous order took way too long and arrived in an inedible condition in an attempt to avoid the same problems this time. The guy on the phone promised me the pizza would show up hot and soon. One hour and 15 minutes after placing the order, my delivery wasn't here yet. Interesting because they are restaurant is only 6 minutes from my house And it's a Tuesday night with nothing major happening in the area. I had to call the restaurant to figure out where my food was and they promised me it would arrive in 10 minutes. When the delivery driver arrived, The pizza was cold and the sodas were warm. I let their delivery driver know that I did not want the order anymore since we had decided to go somewhere else and that I just wanted my money back. The delivery driver forced me to take the pizza and told me that if I wanted my money back I needed to call the restaurant myself. When I called the restaurant, they told me that in order for me to get my money back they would need to send the driver back to my house to see the condition of the pizza. Ridiculous. I packed the pizza up in my car and brought it back to them myself. When I arrived, their staff was rude and their environment was disgusting. Pizza boxes directly on the floor. Chicken wings sitting exposed on a counter. Not a very clean environment. I don't know or care what their problem is. There is a specific way to run a simple business such as pizza delivery. Pick up the phone, take the order, charge the credit card, Make the pizza, deliver the pizza. I'm no chef but I know it doesn't take an hour to make what I ordered. If I had to guess, it only took about 10 minutes. That means that my order sat around either in the driver's back seat or on a counter somewhere in the restaurant until they decided to make the 6-minute drive to my house. During this time of Covid 19, there are plenty of struggling businesses that are working hard to keep their doors open, their customers happy, their employees and their bills paid. This is not one of them. Do yourself and the community a favor and take your hard-earned money somewhere else. Also, every time I called they put me on hold and the hold music they have playing is the worst rendition of a singing commercial I have ever heard. Absolutely terrible! read more

Placed an order 2/25 and was charged 64.37 twice. Called the bank to see if it was pending and to Let them know it was a double charge. Bank saw the issue and took care of it. I placed an online order a few weeks later Nd then get a phone call Saying they wont deliver because of fraud. I literally spoke to The manager and gave him transaction history that they charged me twice and then he approved the delivery. Guy shows up, checks my ID and card and its good to go. Ive placed three or four orders since no issues. Placed an order at 522pm today and get a call at 557pm saying I must pick up. I asked him if it has to do with the same situation in February considering I havent had issues since. He says I did fraud atleast two or three times after that which is completely false. Best pizza and wings I've had in my thee years in Oakland. We had multiple specialty pizzas and have been pleased with them all.

Its very rare I 1 star a place especially when the service isnt bad but this pizza honestly simply sucks. My roomate has ordered it several times during football games for everyone and everytime its soggy as hell to the point where it falls apart like it was dunked in a swimming pool before delivery. Im no health nut and dont mind greasy but cmon briefly laying 1 slice on my plate leaks enough leftover oil for me to cook fried rice afterwards. They use a good ammount of toppings rather then skimping and seem to mean well but your much better off with a frozen pizza or any of the mediocre corporate pizza delivery chains. read more

The pizza is delicious and it's so close to my home. I usually send my bf to pick up the pizza and after a few weekends in a row they started to recognize him. The staff were so nice and welcoming, they tried to give us free sodas (we don't drink soda though LOL). I highly recommend it and they have never messed up our orders. Try the chicken wings too!! I go downstairs to meet them, i waited up to 45 min outside and no one showed up. I tracked the order as i placed it online, and the order status is marked under "eating". I call to figure out what's really going on and the store mentions the order is still on its way, and should be here in 5 min. 20 min past i am still waiting outside, and there is still no pizza that has shown up. I just recently discovered this pizza place. I was skeptical at first but completely changed my mind after trying their pizza. The guy that took my order (forgot his name) was very nice, accommodating, and professional. He honored a deal that I saw on their website for half and half of their premium pizza. I ordered a large half and half of the impossible meat pizza. He very patiently explained to me that the impossible meat pizzas are considered premium and not specialty pizza and so therefore does not qualify for the coupon I saw but went ahead and honored it anyway with a $2 upcharge. I was completely ok with that. My bill for the half and half large premium pizza was $28.64. I also got the free 2 litter soda for free since I picked up my order. When I went and reordered the same pizza again, he continued to honor the price. I appreciate that so much. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return. Hopefully, he can continue to honor the price he gave me. The only negative I see with going to this place is parking. It may get difficult to find parking. This isn't their problem. Three pizzas were very flavorful. Can't wait to order there again. read more

If there was an option for zero stars, I would select it. Such a negative experience with this place! Ordered a pizza around 10 PM on a Saturday. The driver called me around 11 to advise he was concerned about having his car towed for being double parked, so he basically threw my pizza at me when I met him at the door to the building. (Keep in mind that delivery people double park in the Lake Merritt area all of the time.) When I got the pizza inside, I discovered it was not what I ordered. I called the restaurant back to advise and asked for a refund. The person I spoke with said they could only give me a 30% discount on my next order. If I wanted a refund, he said I would need to speak with a manager (but, of course, one was not on duty). Regarding the future discount, I told the employee that this was my first time ordering, and based on my experience with them, it was doubtful I would again. He advised me to text or e-mail him a picture of my pizza to make sure it was actually made incorrectly (Gee, thanks for basically calling me a stupid liar; I think I know the difference between pepperoni and sausage!). Then, he insisted on making a new pizza, which he said would be delivered in the next hour. (Sure, because everyone wants to wait TWO HOURS to get the pizza they originally ordered!) I asked if I should return the first pizza when the delivery person came because it was not going to be eaten, but he said I should keep it. When the second driver came to deliver the correct pizza, he was standing next to his car, and I had to tell him to come into the gate. I guess I was supposed to go out to meet him at his car at midnight? What kind of "delivery" is that, and why am I paying $3.25 for it? (Especially, when I already tipped the first driver.) I followed up with the restaurant the next day to see what they might be able to do to compensate me for the inconvenience and their "delivery" service, and the manager talked over me, didn't listen, and gave me attitude. He said that I should have returned the first pizza; didn't I realize that by keeping that $20 pizza (that I didn't order), they had already compensated me for my inconvenience? (WHAT?!?) He seemed to completely disregard the fact that HIS employee told me to keep the first pizza! And, when I told him about the lack of customer service from his delivery people, he told me that they don't allow their drivers to get out of their cars after a certain time (I think it was 10 PM.). Who has ever heard of such nonsense?!? If you want lackluster pizza, running out to a car to pick up your order (which may or may not be correct), and a completely frustrating experience all around, I recommend ordering from this place. Otherwise, I recommend going to your neighborhood market and buying a frozen version. If will taste about the same, and you won't have to deal with the BS that is rampant here. read more

So I ordered two large pizza's from here on a Friday night so I can tolerate the pizza taking a little bit longer than normal, but I ordered my pizza at 8:15 and it did not arrive at my home until 9:55 that is an hour and forty minutes. I had called several time's during that times, they then told me that the pizza guy would be calling me. He then called me at 9:40 saying that he was getting close and he had hit traffic on the freeway. Placed order...overpriced to be sure, but it's a local joint not a corporate conglomerate, so again, whatever. Received email confirmation. 30 minutes - 45 if it's busy. An hour goes by, no pizza, so I called them up and was rewarded with someone speaking to me who has English as a 4th language or something. "Oh, sorry, boss, the guy...he was in car crash. So we send someone else, okay, boss? Sorry, boss." (I'm not even making this up.) Pizza arrives nearly an hour and a half after I ordered it. Of course, it's cold, and with an entirely different excuse from the driver as to why it's late. "Oh, we're really busy, the other guy, he didn't even call in. Next time we'll be super-fast." The pizza was good, but nothing I'd really write home about. Better than the Hut or Scumino's, but that's as far as I'll take it. Over priced food. Flavor is mediocre. I wouldn't recommend ordering here unless you have no other options.

First off, let me just say that the delivery time and packaging of the pizza was great. Beneath the lid, there was a separator and a piece of foil to prevent smashing. This has been a problem with other pizza deliveries, especially when you order a 2 liter of soda with it due to logical stacking. The person who i placed my order with made the process harder than it actually needed to be. From asking for my address to ordering soda. "give me a 2 liter of sprite AND coke." "we don't have coke... we have pepsi." "ok, give me a PEPSI then..." i understand brand identity, but if placing the order for the pie was difficult, why make it more complicated? ...you know what i meant. just give me the soda or the closest equivalent to it. when the delivery person showed, i was greeted with only a 2 liter of PEPSI and the pie. they must have forgotten my sprite...oh, i'm sorry... SIERRA MIST. Perhaps, the person was too busy unnecessarily correcting the customer on a simple concept. I ordered an extra large garlic tuscon chicken or whatever. what did i get? artichoke pizza with a few pieces of chicken here and there. keep in mind this is an extra large pizza for several people. maybe, if i ordered the artichoke pizza, i'd get chicken all over it. here's part of the problem: the artichokes look like chicken, so they skimp on the chicken. the other ingredients were good, but i ordered chicken for a reason. the bill came to ~$28. the delivery guy was friendly, though. gave him a nice tip for coming out to my neck of the woods. i probably won't order from the pizza guys again. if i do, i won't be ordering any of their specialty pizzas. i'll most likely order from somewhere else... read more
