I stopped in and had an early dinner Sunday and was looking forward to a good pizza. I ordered a pizza for the table instead of the buffet. My usual, a large pizza inn special and 2 salads. The service was very good. Service has never been an issue. But to my surprise when I got the pizza, it was so lackluster and tasteless. The quality of their food has really gone downhill. Then I got the bill to pay and I was shocked when I saw that two tiny salads were literally cost more than the entire large pizza. This was insulting as hell. The salad bar alone does not offer anything special or spectacular to warrant such a ridiculous high price. The salad bar alone was $8.99. This was the worse visit ever. I will never go back. I can't believe the owner sold out to corporate and raised the prices so high. The quality of food does not match the price whatsoever. read more

Let me begin by saying that today , my co-worker and I decided to order lunch from this establishment. Per the website , the lunch special was one large 2 toppings pizza for $11.99 and the dessert pizza was an additional $11.99. In total our order was 25.86 . We chose not to Door Dash for delivery to save a few coins and opted to pick the items up. The order was picked up and brought back to the office, to our disappoint what we received wasn't what we ordered and or anticipated devouring. In short .. the order that was placed was for a split topping pizza one side (Italian sausage & pepperoni) the other side ( pepperoni & bacon) and a pineapple upside down cake pizza for dessert. What we received was a split topping pizza one side (Italian sausage) & the other side ( pepperoni & bacon ) The mistake: they left off the pepperoni on the other side of the pizza..... Ok understandable mistakes happen , but the true disappointment was the Dessert Pizza. The pictures on-line verses the pizza that we received were not the same. In fact the pizza we received looked like the Bavarian Pizza. I will post photos. I did call to express my concern for I thought that we received the wrong order . The gentleman I spoke with was nice, respectful and straightforward. He said that we did in fact receive the correct order. When I explained that what we received looked like the Bavarian Pizza with added pineapples and not the Upside Down Cake Pizza displayed on the website , he then said that the pictures on line is something determined by the cooperate office and the pizza that they make are not the same. I then told him that we would at least try the pizza before making assumptions as it relates to the taste, and give a call back , but the disappointment and comparison to what we thought we would receive verses what we actual got was to far fetched. To say the least we were very disappointed. I didn't bother calling back - for I understood there was no way for them to correct the issue in regards to the dessert pizza, and secondly , we were only permitted a 30 minute lunch, so time would not permit any corrections if any. So why leave this long review...... What you present on your website to a consumer entices one to try new things, when one does make a decision to try a new establishment it would help, if what was presented online was the same and or close to what - was actually provided. And hear me this is not a gross understatement either, what was presented online , wasn't anywhere close to what we received. So the 3 star review may not mean much, but this review was left in hopes that going forward, Cooperate would do better in regards to how they present things to the public and or there potential patrons. Had this been another establishment this could have been considered - false advertisement. Nonetheless - there are enough issues in the world - than to worry about a pizza order gone wrong. So there you have it. My honest review. Overall, staff was great, customer service was good, and the taste of the pizza - not bad.. Now the question at hand, would I return and give it another try? My co-worker says she will, she enjoys the food and really likes the family atmosphere. Amanda says, "63 percent of the kitchen staff at her restaurant on Woodruff Road have special needs and she goes above and beyond to make them feel apart of the team, regardless of their limitations. I did an Uber Eats order where they sent me the wrong pizza, then was sent a full refund by Uber Eats then reordered and put in the description to go directly to the restaurant to not forget the icing I PAID for on the pizza and it showed up BURNT (like black) and guess what, no icing! I give up. Last year I ordered delivery of the XL NY style pepperoni and cheese. The flavor was great and I loved the nicely charred pepperoni slices. Which is why I gave it two more chances despite not getting the extra cheese I asked for. Each time no extra cheese. There was barely any cheese on it in the first place. Last night I tried one time. This pizza buffet keeps busy which means the selection is always fresh and rotating! They have a great salad bar and huge variety of pizzas. The salad bar even had pickled okra! They also had pasta, garlic knots, tater tots, and a few other hot items. They have nearly a dozen different pizzas offered at a time and are constantly replenishing the selection. All the classics like cheese, pepperoni, sausage, veggie, supreme, etc. and they had specialty toppings out like buffalo chicken and taco salad. All varying crust types and thicknesses! If there is a certain type you like but don't see then you can request it which is really nice. One of my favorites that I always make sure to save room for is the chocolate chip dessert pizza! They also had a few other sweet options with cinnamon, apples and cherries as different toppings or fillings. Not impressed. My medium pizza arrived and the first think I noticed was the crust was folded over. Did they have a large pizza crust and realize it had to be smaller to send to me? It almost brought me back to my old childhood Pizza in after every football game. The ladies running this place were very efficient and eager to help out. Pizza was very good and they were very quick to restock. The only bad thing I could say is I think I gained an extra 3 lb by eating the cookie dough pizza. You can't just eat one and walk away... That's the only reason I will lie and say I won't go back again. From the outside it doesn't look like much but inside they do a good job. Tonight I went to place a order I usually get good service here at this location but tonight service was not exceptional first I looked at the website to make sure what I was about to order was correct I then called to ask what came with the order and was told something opposite than what I received I then told the girl on the phone that I was about to place order online she said she was going to go ask the cook if what I asked for was what came with the order I then placed my order and was told it would be ready online at 8:45 arrived to pick up the order the order had not been started was told the printer was out and my order was not even started, had to wait an extra 30 minutes for in the drive-thru line waited so long I had to go in for my order when asked to speak to a manager and just see if anything would be done for the inconvenience she says because I already paid for my order there was nothing that could be done (I'm pretty sure thats not how things work) but did let her know the services I received was not exceptable I got my order home and it was burnt rolls and spaghetti so as for my trips back to this location NO ID RATHER NOT!!! I will be contacting someone about this matter money doesn't grow on trees and having it to waste is not what I like to do....whomever the manager was on duty needs to be replaced!!! Pizza Inn hasn't been in my town since the early 80's and as a kid it was my favorite by far! So when visiting the area I found out there was one near my hotel, coupled with this locations response to a jackass customer complaint, I made a visit! The pie was as good as I remembered (sorry, not as good as my local mom-n-pop pizzeria) and the service excellent. While their main thing is the buffet, we opted to order our own. Literally single handedly, the worst pizza I've ever had. The only reason I gave it an extra star instead of 1 is because their chocolate chip pizza was actually super good and gooey. I chose the wrong day too. Super bowl Sunday. I brought two pizzas and I was told by my guest to toss it that's how gross it was. I thought I was ordering better pizza then Chuck E Cheese or Pizza Hut sadly mistaken it was undercooked and nasty and wet and dry at the same time. I have missed Pizza Inn!!! It was a staple of my freshman year at NC A&T State University-having dinner at the Summit Avenue store was a treat and welcome break from the bland cafeteria food. I hated so much when a couple of years later, it closed and became a Bob Dunn auto dealership. I can still taste the Supreme thin crust pizza and the tangy, French salad dressing, not to mention- my favorite chocolate chip cookie pizza. Fast forward nearly 23 years later. My travels find me in SC and hungry. Imagine my delight when I see an actual Pizza Inn in Greenville. DAY MADE! I hate I didn't get to take any pics, but that was the last thing on my mind. Everything was a delicious as I remembered-even down to the sweet tea and (ashamed to say)-my fav. chocolate chip cookie dessert. There was one noticeable difference (besides the fact that my Pizza Inn memories were from Greensboro). This particular restaurant was diverse in its' staff. There were "special needs" employees there and it warmed my heart. My hat is totally off to the management team for this hiring approach. More businesses could learn from you. Childhood memories made here. The pizza is good and the buffett is not expensive compared to how many choices of desserts, pizzas, and salad options they have on display. They are very slow. We waited for over20minutes for our order. And when we got our pizza my individual taco pizza wasn't right it was just sauce , we took it back and they were like oh we forgot to add the stuff...is it rocket science to make pizza ?!?! Very unsanitary. While we waited for our pizza to be cooked a person in the back,cooking the pizzas, took a drink of their soda and then spit it on the ground. Next to where a bowl of wings was waiting to be mixed. I would recommend somewhere else! Especially since their pizza is overpriced. Great service, hot buffet, and they keep it stocked! If you order anything special it is brought out in a timely fashion and they also bring a plate to your table. I've known other pizza inn locations to just put it on the buffet and you just had to watch for it. First time here but was really pleased! Both of my daughters under 6 loved it as well. This Pizza buffet is decent. The staff was very friendly & attentive. The pizza is ok, some tasting better then others, but overall, it's a buffet. Great for kids who don't really care what stuff tastes like, especially pizza. But adults, who prefer great tasting food, just endure it. The price isn't bad though, and I only went because my children love pizza, especially a place where they can get unlimited pizza plus dessert pizza.
