I'm giving 3 stars because there was one bright spot with the friendly employee, but I don't think we'll be back.

My rye bread was not as flavorful as I have come to expect when requesting rye bread and the slices were really quite thin. My wife also reported her hash was delicious. And the soufflé pancake looked incredible, though arrived several minutes after the rest of the party's food so was scorching hot coming out of the oven while our food had cooled to room temperature. I would love to see the restaurant continue to grow out of these pains and I hope others can come and enjoy it, but I had a less than stellar experience and unfortunately despite the kind servers doing their best to make this a positive experience, I do not plan to return.

This combines house dough with garlic confit, tomato jam, mozzarella, pickled red onion, chevre cream, arugula, and lemon oil ($30 for a 16-inch). The crust is outstanding, and the combination of toppings was really great. Plus it pairs perfectly with a glass of IPA or two.

I have not yet visited Italy but PIZZA MAMBO has to be the next best thing to being there. When you walk in through the outdoor seated area the aroma beckons you and you are instantly transported. A true Jewel of SW Mich, my host ( of the same name) graciously welcomes you all while managing phone orders and pick up orders. I had the Ultimate Carnivore and it did not disappoint. Owners Dave and Tim along with a top notch crew, clearly are meticulous and given to culinary perfection. The Italian sausage has distinct flare amid savory notes of sage and thyme and is shipped in from Chicago. The creamy melted cheeses are from Wisconsin and the stars of the show, the crust and sauce are housemade. Oh did I mention the Tiramisu and key lime pie are world class.
