Pizza My Heart is a pizza chain restaurant with multiple locations across the San Francisco Bay Area. This location is in Santa Clara close to downtown and Santa Clara University. Inside this location looks like an old school diner. I ordered a slice of the big sur ($6.50) which had multiple kinds of meat. We're regular customers at Pizza My Heart and have always had good experiences at other locations, which made this visit especially disappointing. The gluten free pizza is amazing!!! It seriously makes me so happy. Ever since I became gluten free, i've missed good quality pizza and let me tell you-Pizza My Heart as it. It tastes identical to their regular pizza. Additionally, it doesn't come with a crazy long wait, just because it's gluten free. They are efficient and delicious!! I eat it nearly every other week! I've been here twice in one week, both times they messed up my order. The first time, they burnt two pizza slices and then left two others sitting out while the other two burned. When I checked on my order they offered to recook all of them but we didn't have the time. The girl told me she would give me new ones and not charge me for it even though I technically had already paid for the slices. We ended up eating some burnt pizza and cold pizza. I retuned five days later and ordered two slices. They lagged on these and when I asked, I told them which ones. The worker asked if my slice had mushroom and I said yes, which it did (it was the Big Sur but they gave me the mushroom magic). I took the slices to go. When I got home and opened my box, it was one correct slice and an incorrect slice (just mushroom pizza). I had to return to the restaurant to get this fixed. When I explained, the girl said "I asked if it was the mushroom one" which frustrated me even more because they should've also double checked the ticket, but they appeared to have lost it which is why they were lagging on my order. While I was here, a girl came and told them she had ordered 2 cheese slices but only got one. They popped another one in the oven for her but like 5-7 min later I heard the worker who took was correcting this mistake say "who was the cheese slice for" and then proceed to put the slice back on the line. I was the one that told her it was a slice to fix one of their mistakes. Both times they did try to compensate for their mistakes in a range of ways, but at the same time, if they are making a mistake every time I come, then that is testament that the overall operations of this place is a mess. It is not sustainable to always be fixing mistakes and it also should be something that is problem solved on a more impactful way (create more effective systems, retrain the crew, hire better workers) Although it is a college vibe, that doesn't mean it should be such inconsistent and mistake ridden service. Hopefully this improves Update (minutes after posting this one since I typed it while they were fixing my order). They were very friendly; I say they, as I spoke with a Lady and what I think was the Owner or Management person. I was asking questions and she asked the man, he begin to have a full conversation in the mist of all his work. He made it fun, and interesting and also transparent, wow, wouldn't expect that at a busy Friday Night place of business. Still, this is one of my favorites to get a slice of pizza. I like the thin crust, which is crispy on the outside and chewy. The crust has flavor! I order different pizza slices depending on my mood- Big Sur, Piggy Piggy, Maui Wowie, Manresa Pesto, Pepperoni., etc. I like their chicken walnut salad with balsamic vinegarette. This is my fav location because parking is available and it is near Santa Clara University so there is a high turnover of pizzas not sitting under a heat lamp. I've been to this location twice so far, for the Big Sur combo pizza with 40 cloves of garlic on it! I'm not sure why I love their pizza so dang much...it's just really, really good I guess. Usually I prefer hand tossed crust over thin crust, but this place does it right. Very New Yorkish, you can fold it over and chomp chomp chomp away! The young men who work there are all very nice and friendly, look like college boys. While my husband and I were waiting for our large pie, we noticed a homeless man walk in and ask for something to eat from the guy at the register, saying he did not have any money to pay. The friendly young man gave him a slice of pepperoni, which I thought was incredibly sweet and generous of him, and made me like this place even more, that they were nice enough to do that. read more

Pizza my heart was so apologetic, and was kind enough to replace the order at no cost. The food itself was AMAZING. I like Pizza My Heart pizza the best, especially its vegetarian options which typically are limited at other pizza restaurants. Recently I ordered the Little Sur and thought it was wonderful. The Virgin Creek was good though far too much pepper on the crust. Was that a mistake or intentional? And for my guests I ordered the Old-School Pepperoni Pizza and Maui Wowie. I also appreciate the service at this location which has always been friendly and prompt. Though Pizza My Heart is more expensive with the online specials plus the frequent dining card the cost becomes a bit more reasonable. read more

Some fire pizza right here! I like to go to this pizza place in between law school classes at Santa Clara. They have pizza all ready to go but also right out of the oven and fresh! They give really nice portions of pizza for a great price. If you are in dining dollars at SCU then they currently accept those ACCESS card points. Pizza was superb- I like to get the bbq chicken, the everything pizza, and the pepperoni. All of their options are really good. Pretty good. I hadn't been to this one as usually it is crowded with the college kids, but lately it seems pretty empty. Had a couple slices and a salad. Borders on cheap even. My kid loves this place as he can fill a punch card up and keep it until he rides up to sneak regular pizza slices; He and mom go to get pizza in LG sometimes GF and fake cheese, and the stamp cards work at all of them. The Health dept reports are pretty cool, the pizza timer situation could be worrisome as the restaurant is empty most of the day, but back in college (really all the way up to marriage) I would eat slices later after sitting on my table all day(s) and thats just how we do. Plus L usually goes right after open when the pizza by the slice is still hot from the oven. There is a huge outdoor space and nice tables, probably nicer outdoor space than most of the impromptu parking lot "patios" springing up everywhere. read more

Why is the pizza not as good here as it is in Los Gatos and Santa Cruz. While the toppings are the same (and taste the same), the crust is always flimsy. We ate at the one in Los Gatos a week ago and the crust was perfect as always - crisp. Not sure why this location cannot do the same. The service here is also lacking. Los gatos has smiles and really enjoy your business. This location just seems like they do not really care. Talking to each other more than the customer. It seems like we are doing them a favor. That might work for the college crowd, but show a little thanks. Hell I even tipped for take out and it just seemed not appreciated.
