My Son and I walked into Pizza Palace Starving from an eventful Day. Service was kind of Slow and getting our actual pizza was even slower. I had no idea the pizza was thick, and I mean thick crust. Totally disgusting and not worth eating. The toppings do not even go all the way to the crust, which is a good 1" thick or better, along with the messed up square pieces they cut the pizza into. I hate pizza cut like that, it so annoying. I will never return to this establishment ever again, and would not recommend it to anyone who likes pizza, it's totally GROSS. Do your self a favor and don't let the fancy building fool you like it did to us. Go elsewhere! you'll be glad you did. read more

Meh. I'm VERY picky when it comes to my pizza given I don't eat it a whole lot. So you really need to wow me to make me come back. I only had one piece of a friends "personal" pizza, and it was alright. Nothing to write home to my mom about. I opted for a chicken sandwich and the portions were huge. It took a lot out of me to finish it. The waitstaff was a 3/10. She took forever to give us our drinks and was gone for most of our meal only to return to give us our check. We also tried coming here one night when they were still open for about a half hour and they basically shooed us out of the door. I get it, you want to go home but you don't need to be rude about it. I guess it would be good if you were in a bind and dying of starvation, but I wouldn't make a special place to come here. read more

The atmosphere was nice and laid back. I did not order pizza, but rather a tuna sandwich. MY husband's meal came with a salad, which was more like a plate of grated cheese with a side of lettuce. My sandwich was good, but pretty generic. The prices for our food were reasonable. The service for my husband's food was good, however they made the wrong sandwich for me so I had to wait longer. read more

I'm honestly shocked at some of the negative reviews here on yelp... I have been going to Pizza Palace with family and friends even since they were at their previous location. I have never had an issue with the food or service, not once. If you like a thick crust with a good amount of fresh sauce, this is the place to go for pizza. If you're looking for a thin crust, there are plenty of others pizza places to choose from in town. Their Italian dinners are great for the price, they also have a nice drink selection, and the staff is always friendly. read more

Pizza Palace makes me lose faith in humanity. This travesty of an "italian" place is always fuller than the quality of the food would suggest. Maybe its just me or maybe everybody else is ok with eating garlic flavored cardboard. The pizza here is worse than the $5.99 cheapo garbage pizza you can get at Stop and Shop and the rest of the menu items are just as bad. Be prepared for frozen pre-shaped veal and chicken patties, soggy and stale vegetables in salads and even the soda taste odd. I like Torrington Pizza Palace for pizzas, grinders, and salads. My family and I have been going here every 1-2 week for decades. I request a well done pizza wherever I go so it's crispy. There is only one other place I would recommend in town for pizza and I think I have tried them all. Pizza though is one of those things where everyone seems to have a preference. read more

The grinder I got had way to much sauce, I asked for roasted red peppers and got green and red and weren't roasted. The only thing goo was the bread. Years ago this place was amazing but clearly there was a reason why the air conditioning wasn't on, the TVs were off and 1 waitress working as we were the only ones inside. For a Connecticut Pizza restaurant...it's not all that bad. I've always wondered how even though it's so close to both New York and New Jersey, Connecticut still can't make a half-way decent pizza. Pizza Palace does a little bit in their favor with a great menu to help make up for any inclinations that the food might fall short. Their grinders are great and I must say their salads are top rate. It's a good home-town atmosphere with a nice little bar area and friendly staff. The food is definitely very good for a pizzeria and thats what keeps us coming back, time after time. read more

I want to like this place so badly. First, let me start off with the food: love it! The downfall of this place is the service. The waitresses are generally nice, but not the least bit attentive. I have only eaten here once but it was very good. My family stopped here for lunch and I wasn't feeling a pizza, so I ended up getting a hamburger. I was nervous about ordering a burger at an Italian place, but I was pleasantly surprised. My burger was cooked perfectly, the bacon was delicious, and the steak fries were great too. Stopped here for lunch after hiking. Food was great. I had the chicken Parmesan was so good. My husband got the personal pizza I almost stole his food was so good. My daughter had a burger just yummy. The decor was nice and waitress was so nice and attentive. Definitely on my list of repeat restaurants. read more

FIRST of all, I stopped in on a FRIDAY night and their hours clearly state open till 11. I went in at 9 was told to "sit wherever I wanted" just to sit and wait for 20 minutes for a GOD DAMN WATER while there was only TWO other tables. Pathetic. Not only was there trash legitimately EVERYWHERE but they also proceeded to turn off half of the lights and make the whole experience extremely uncomfortable. Nothing says "I don't like business" like turning half of your lights off. The waitress was SUPER inattentive, never in my life had such a shitty experience at a restaurant. As a fan of thick crust pizza, I absolutely love Pizza Palace. They have a great tomato sauce, mixed with that thick cheese anf fluffy crust. Also reccomend their eggplant fries as an appetizer, they've become a favorite of mine over the years. My one complaint is that it takes a while for them to make the food when you're there, but the staff is always friendly. read more

Ordered the Fried Mozzarella it was burned and had maybe 1/32 of an inch of cheese. We stopped there and got our check and left stay away from this place not sure how it stayed in business this long. A side note the cheese in the shaker no clue what it was but it wasn't cheese. read more
