I ordered a slice of Margarita pizza, the Caprese salad with ripe grape tomatoes, fresh mozzarella balls, olives, red peppers, and sliced jalapenos, and lemonade. This combo is less than $13. Good pizza but a 16" for $30 is way too high. (June 2025) Spaghetti was horrible and the meatballs taste like it was made with fish (no fish was actually in it). The"pomodoro/marinara sauce was more like a sweet vodka sauce given how pink and creamy it was, and it took was way too sweet. Bread rolls were decent. Their Italian beef sandwich is a small amount of a lower grade roast beef on a spongy stupid round bun with a big bowl of fake au jus. Don't rip off the customer with this crap. I now call out owners that insult italian food and us customers. The so called homemade potato chips were just chips out of a bag. Another LIE. I reiterate, the au jus is like water, chips taste like a grocery store product, no matter their origin and the sandwich is a poor concoction; overall imitation italian beef, verified by me in person. Pizza Republic was a hidden gem I never even knew until recently! I tried out their mac and cheese with broccoli, veggie sandwich, eggplant parm, cheese pizza, and pineapple with pepperoni pizza. They were all super declious. But the eggplant parm was the one that stood out to me. It was so flavorful that I just kept eating it until it was gone. Fresh butter lettuce, tomato, cucumber, FRESH parmesan, garbanzo beans, avocado and a touch of red onion. A nice light dressing and great add on to the sandwich. I was instantly drawn to Pizza Republic bc of the strong reviews on Yelp. To my surprise, Pizza Republic exceeded my expectations in both food taste and customer service. This is a MUST for anyone that has a chance to eat here. For such a small establishment, the online ordering experience is really strong. Placing my order was quick, easy, and straightforward. I received an instant confirmation via email and text with an estimated wait/pickup time. I arrived about 5 minutes earlier than my designated pickup time. When I got to the register, I gave them my info and they knew exactly the status of my order. Then on the nose, my order was ready! I took the pizza back to the AirBnB (about 15 minute drive) and the pie still had a crispy crust. Impressive! Now for the pie: I went with the Wise Guy (no olives) and wow was I happy. The fennel sausage was so tasty and complimented the other toppings perfectly. The sauce, cheese, and crust are clearly high quality ingredients that I'm confident that a cheese pizza from here would be phenomenal. Their whole pizza selections are available in many house-recipes or can be made to the customer's choice of 21 available toppings. Their sauces, dressings, and dough are made in-house daily. Pizza is also available by-the-slice with a large number of different ready-made topping selections to choose from. The slices are a bit thicker than most pizzas. They are partially cooked, so they only require a couple of minutes in their pizza oven to be served piping hot. Their sandwiches are delicious and are served with their fresh, house-made chips. Their pasta dishes are appetizing, as are their freshly prepared salads. They have a number of outdoor tables to enjoy one's meal, since indoor dining is very limited at this time. I love stopping in for the lunch specials or to pick up take out. My favorites are the chicken Parmesan, Spaghetti, and Rigatoni and Meatballs. Their house made sauce is delicious and always tastes so incredibly fresh. Truly a beautiful sauce! I crave it and will DoorDash it when I can't get down to SLO. The beet salad and pizza by the slice are a must when you stop in. I also have to add that the owner is always there - either working the counter or working her magic in the kitchen and I love seeing that. We came in today on the recommendation from a friend at work. I was told that they have the best pastrami sandwich in town, and I can see why! The sandwich is huge and full of flavor. The meat is tender and perfectly seasoned. The bread is the perfect texture to complement the meat too. My Wife had the Romaine pasta chicken salad which was really tasty. It had a nice Italian vinaigrette dressing. I'm not really a salad person, so that says a lot. Lisa the owner was very nice to us on our first visit, which was welcoming. Pizza republic is our go-to pizza take-out restaurant. It reigns supreme in SLO and there is not one place that compares. I'm originally from New York and this is the closest thing you will get to a true NY slice of pizza. The margarita is delicious, but plain or pepperoni is great as well.
