I was camping at Hamlin Beach SP and ran into Hamlin for supplies. I saw this place on the way to Tops so I figured I'll just order up some grub and called in an order. I ordered a large cheese and pepperoni pizza and a large Italian sub. The order was ready by the time we left Tops. I went inside to pick up the order and instantly regretted it. Talk about a dive. It just felt dated and cheaply thrown together. Anyways, I grabbed our order and headed back to our campsite. The pizza - bland, cardboard crust. Canned sauce, boring. Cheese and pepperoni fair. In high school, I would get cafeteria pizza that had more soul than this. I was tempted to give what wasn't eaten to the racoons, but I didn't want to give them gut rot. The sub - It was a fairly impressive looking sub, lots of meat and stuff. Well, heck. The sub roll was good. That is it. The meat (stacked high) was cheap, cheap, cheap, and lacked any flavor. I honestly don't know how you can have 3 types of meat that have no flavor. I asked for oil dressing, and I'm pretty sure I just got vegetable oil, and not some sort of sub dressing as normal. So let me start by saying they make a decent - not great - but reasonably good pizza (6/10). I agree with many of the previous posts that point out the problems getting the order correct, delivering in a reasonable time, and on one previous occasion for me -having the pizza not show up looking like it had been tossed around the delivery car. That being said - up until what I describe below - I ordered there periodically for convenience sake. My last order - and the impetus for taking my time to write this review - was a pick up order (given the previous issues with delivery). When I went to pick it up - I was absolutely floored to walk in on a conversation by who I believe was the owner speaking with a customer about his political perspectives - in which he alleged that 'these mass school shootings are BS" suggesting that they are some attempt by Democrats to take away gun rights. That in itself had me turning around to leave - but I was able hear him continue to say that he'd like to not sell to Democrats. Fair enough - I wouldn't buy again from him regardless - but my aim here is to help him along with his business plan. IF YOU'RE A DEMOCRAT (or otherwise capable of basic critical thought) - I hope you'll take your business down the road to Krony's or Mark's pizzerias. This dope doesn't want your business - and he sure as sh!t won't be getting mine or anyone else's who I can persuade to spend their money elsewhere. read more

We have tried pizza shack more than once... aweful, absolutely terrible each time. The subs are disgusting and slimy, while the garbage plates were burned-horribly! The center of the burger was still pink and raw while the outside was black and scorched. We couldn't even get more than 3 bites deep before giving up with regret. We have learned our lesson... everything sucks there, not just their subs. Don't waste yout time or money. read more

Have ordered from here before. Nice cause they deliver. But cant get anything right. They do not cut pizza as a pie. Even after several requests please please cut like a pie. I know petty but I hate pizza pies cut in squares. And after all I am paying least you could do is give me what I pay for. So after months of not bothering I decided to order and American assorted with very light oil/dressing. Yet what I got was an Italian assorted with heavy oil. So much the bread was soaked, dripping and fell apart as I opened it. Obviously it's to late to call and complain. And as previously complained about order mess ups I know it would be useless. Just like ordering from here is useless. Should have just gone to wegmans. Only order from here if you like order roulette. Cause its a joke. read more

We just moved to the area and have had their pizza a couple times now. My family loves it and asks for it now. They have a large menu selection and we really like their crust and sauce on their pizza which i think is huge! Happy to have discovered this place. read more

Best pizza around! I live in Irondequoit, but we visit my friend in Hamlin and Pizza Shack is a must! Crispy crust and the dough is the best. Double pepperoni with mushrooms. They also have garbage plates, chicken tenders and other choices. read more

Pizza shack was my favorite pizza when I was younger & they had a location in the area I grew up. My girlfriends and I would walk or bike down for the best slices of pizza and also for ice cream. This location I believe is the original, and the pizza is just fantastic. There is something about the oddly sweet crust which is AMAZING and not comparable to any other pizza joint in the area! Just the right amount of sauce & cheese, and you have a Pizza Shack pizza for a reasonable price! Every time I'm out this way I grab a large pizza for the trek home (always burning my mouth due to not having an ounce of patience to wait for it to cool off....literally right into my mouth out of the oven!) read more

I was actually grossed out by their pizza, on one occasion! Have ordered pizzas more than once and never really been satisfied. Almost always uncooked, way too many toppings......so many that the pizza falls apart when you try to eat it. Sausage has no flavor. Pizza tends to be really greasy. read more

Hamlin Pizza Shack has the best pizza in town. It is consistently delicious and they are generous with cheese and toppings. Their fish fry is also delicious as are their wings. We usually order one of these three menu items and we are always happy! read more
