This place used to be good. What happened? I ordered the tandoor chicken pizza with extra cheese and there wasn't even enough cheese for one pizza on it. The whole pizza was extremely soggy and the sauce was absolutely disgusting. They used to have a delicious tandoori sauce but my order had a watery pink mayo that tasted like ketchup and extremely store bought. NEVER ordering from here again. I was excited to visit Pizza Twist located in Jersey City not far from the Journal Square PATH Station. Ambiance/Parking: This is a very new location. It's located on a strip with a couple of parking spots in the lot right next to it. If you know this area, you know parking is a complete hassle so the fact that they have a parking lot is amazing. Parking is free as well. Spaces are limited but the time I visited I was able to find a spot. This location is more like a grab and go spot. There are chairs so you can wait for your order and TV's. I love the ambiance as it's very bright and welcoming. You walk up to the front, order your food and go. Food/Prices: They definitely put a twist on it! You can create your own pizzas or order whats on the menu. I ordered the bombay garlic pie with vegan chicken and it was amazing! I love having vegan options for food items I usually can't get them for especially pizza. You can also many any pie vegan or top on as many meats and cheeses as you'd like. As an appetizer, I went with the popular choices; the curry bread twist and the marsala fries twist. Both were out of my comfort zone but I went for it and was glad I did. The curry on the bread twist wasn't overwhelming, it was just perfect combined with chopped onions, garlic, ginger and sprinkled with cheese. The marsala fries had the perfect spice; definitely a twist on regular fries. Vegan, gluten free, veggie, dairy free, egg free and/or spicy they do it all. From pizzas to salads, pastas and desserts. They even have vegan wings. I would give 5 stars but we were waiting 45 minutes for our food which is pretty long. Granted, I did get 3 menu items but I was originally told 15-20 minutes. They were delicious because you can't really go wrong with brownies but I do feel that $9 was a bit high. I think it was pretty similar to brownies I could have made at home. I selected no spice for the pasta dish but I did find it to be quite spicy. I usually am able to tolerate medium at most restaurants but I wanted to be on the safe side here. I was pretty surprised at how spicy it was, but other than that I really liked it, and I loved the paneer with the pasta! The pizza was good as well, I saw other people writing that there was not a lot of sauce but I didn't think it was an issue. It was decently spicy but I was expecting it! I was intrigued by the concept of Indian fusion pizza, so despite the mixed reviews, I decided to give Pizza Twist a try. Don't regret it, but not sure if it would be worth trying again. I ordered the 10" paneer tandoori pie, spicy, on a thin crust and with extra sauce (since the common complaint seems to be that the pizza lacks sauce). It came to about $16. For the price point, the pie was quite small, and underwhelming. The crust was dry and bland, and even with the extra sauce, the pizza was basically bread, cheese and toppings. When eaten fresh, the pizza is good, but not really flavorful. I went for a second round of slices a couple of hours later and the pie was completely bland and tasted like cardboard. I'm glad I didn't get a bigger pie, but also disappointed because some of the other flavors offered sounded intriguing and I wanted to try them. Pizza Twist is new in town, so hopefully they'll listen to reviews and improve with time. read more

Pizza twist provides an interesting option for indian food. They have a good variety of specialized pizzas and also have custom options. We ordered Curry breadsticks which were really good. We also ordered 3 large pizzas, one was Paneer Makhani which was okay but the sauce and base needed some improvements. The other one was half and half which had half vegan manchurian and half vegan achari but they messed up the order it was one large Vegan Achari. The Achari flavor one wasn't that good and lacked flavors as well. Overall there are things that the place needs to improve upon specially maintaining the order details. read more

I honestly feel bad leaving a review in these circumstances that we are living in ; However, the mistake that occurred was one that could have been resolved in a courteous way. I never leave reviews because I feel like people make mistakes we are all human, but in order to fix a mistake the satisfaction of the customer must be met with the highest regard. When I order food from any establishment I go thru a mobile based platform, so there is no variable of not understanding what my order was, or inputing my order incorrectly into the database With that said. I put an order in for 3 pies, all of them were different in flavor, and I strictly stated in plain English that I would like the entire order cooked on a thin crust. Upon arriving to pick up my dinner. I had paid the gentleman, 68 dollars and some change, and I began to take look at the pies to make sure everything was exactly what I had asked for. The first issue was the simple fact that every pizza was made on a regular thick crust. When I mentioned this to the employee that's was working the register. He stated, " oh ok I'm sorry we will have that ready in 10 to 15 min. This didn't bother me at all people make mistakes, and I'm a fairly patient individual considering I have two businesses myself. Despite eagerly waiting for 15 min. I asked the gentlemen do you know how long until my order will be corrected. He stated once again " sir we will have it ready in 10 more min", so I didn't think anything of it. I can wait another 10 min not a problem. A whopping 45 min had finally past, and I asked again " any news on my dinner for the evening ?. He said he will have it rt now. Finally before leaving the establishment. I asked a very simple question that I've been waiting here very patiently for 45 to 50 minutes, consequently I feel like I should be receiving a certain percentage off, for the mistake that's was clearly made on your guys end. The gentlemen stated, " I'm sorry sir we just opened, and if you give you a discounted rate for the pizzas we will be losing money. Well, maybe this is true he might take a hit on my order, but in order to satisfy the 45 min that I had to wait for my order to be completed. I think it's only right even if I got 20 percent off or maybe just one free pie, for the obvious mistake by the restaurant. He refused once again, so I decided I'm heading home because I have a group of family members that are getting very hungry at this point. In spite of waiting an eternity, I was very much excited to try this Indian style pizza. Everyone started to dig in, and excitement turned into disgust. The kids said each pie tastes the exact same way. Even though we had ordered three completely different flavor profiles on the pizzas. Another issue that was brought to me was the overall construction on this pizza. usually the sauce is swirled around in a an even manor, so that it's not piled up in the very middle of the pizza it makes it very different to eat let alone enjoy it. To conclude on my argument. I would like to advice the restaurant to do a better job of following directions that are typed up waiting for them to simply read, and cook it accordingly. If the pizzas actually blew my socks off I wouldn't have even cared about waiting, and would need no compensation for my waisted. The variety of mistakes that occurred was very disappointing to the family, and most importantly to myself. I was the person who suggested let's try something new something with an "Indian twist", and it clearly was not the smartest decision I've made. Sometimes you just order placed that you know satisfy the customer, and everything is in order to their liking. I really hope you guys solve these issues with opening up a new restaurant, and I'm eager to try it when the operation is run a bit smoother, and the integrity of the customer is kept at a higher level.
