I don't do hot or spicy...so I streak to a pizzeria with an Indian twist. Now whose the cheeky monkey? But we find ourselves near the airport at dinner time and what's conveniently between us and work...Chicago's Pizza with a Twist. The first thing I notice (after the attached Econolodge) is how clean the dining area is. Following a tip from a friend we ordered a medium Donner Kabob pizza, no cilantro (allergic) and boneless Hot wings. Unfortunately, it took over 30 minutes to table. Wouldn't you know it...the wings were covered with a cilantro garnish. After sincere apologies another batch went in and we had to take them to go. The food was fantastic. The wings truly could win awards. The pizza was great, too! The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I wish we had more than just Pepsi products to chose from. Oh well. The prices are in line and when the construction in the area ends, they're easily accessible. If they could cut down the 30 minute wait time, this would be a top ten go-to. 7/19 read more

I like chicken tikka masala. I like pizza. I LOVE chicken tikka masala pizza. I'm not even going to knock off a star for the sub-par salad (skip the salad, it's underwhelming) because the pizza here is SO OUTSTANDING. Spicy. Tangy. Saucy. Dare I say, juicy? We ordered the chicken tikka pizza on the gluten free cauliflower crust and talked about it for so many days afterwards that we got it again the following week, and again the week after that. The spice level is out of 4 stars, we usually order 2 or 3 and it's a delicious warmth/flavor. I love how fully loaded the pizza pie comes, with a fresh veggie or meat hunk in every bite. Fresh. Fast. Fantastic. They seem to be rebranding from "Chicago's Pizza with a Twist" to a national chain "PizzaTwistUSA" but I'm not sure, it's confusing. Either way it doesn't matter. I think you have to go the trust route. I had a house salad, Cesar salad and pepperoni pizza and it was very forgettable. Just tasted so processed and like buffet pizza or something lacking quality. I believe this place is a chain and maybe I didn't order the right thing, but I wasn't impressed. Also if you're into Pizza ranch don't bother because the ranch tastes like hidden valley, not special very average. I'm going to give it this visit a score of 3 out of 7; so that's a 43ish percentile and that equates to something in the 2 star range. I've had pizza from here a few times since coming to Reno. At first I was confused because as a Chicago native, I knew this is NOT Chicago pizza. But I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, I love a genuine Chicago pie but this pizza is SPECIAL. My favorite is the Chicken Tika Masala. Authentic Masala flavors and the crust is really great, especially when ordered "twice baked or extra crispy". I have never eaten at the restaurant but have ordered multiple times for delivery and pick up. Delivery is always prompt and well worth the $3 delivery fee for not having to navigate South Virginia street during dinner hours. Yesterday I ordered for pick up, one large Curry Vegetable (my sister is a veg head) and one large Tandoori Chicken. These were both new flavors for me and I was really impressed with both. My son and I got there about 20 mins prior to scheduled pick up time and sat in the dining room eating deliciously crispy Samosas while we waited for the pizzas to finish. I had ordered online earlier in the day for my scheduled pick up time and they had everything perfectly prepared, right on time. The lady and gentleman who served our samosas and brought our pizzas out were very friendly and attentive. They had a nice little bar and an entire wall full of non alcoholic varieties of drinks. This is a great little family owned (I believe) pizza place that really takes the ordinary pizza and makes it special. Definitely something for everyone and a ton of GF and Vegan/Vegetarian options for a great price. read more

Well that was a whirlwind romance. Earlier in the month I ordered from Chicago and had excellent results. I used Grub hub but had spoken with the lady who answers the phone, who helped me figure out how to make the whole order vegan. This time when I went to Grubhub I couldn't select vegan cheese, so I ordered for delivery direct from their website. If you know me, you know I'm going through some stuff right now which makes me a bit forgetful. I took my dog for a walk while waiting, and midway through realized their website also didn't give me the option for vegan cheese. This was my mistake. I called to see if the food had left yet, and they said yes. I told her about the vegan not being on any website and she said I needed to call in. To be fair, the website doesn't say "call for options". The options are on the menu just not choosable. This was my second time total ordering from this restaurant. I digress, the owner shows up while I am walking into my driveway with my pup, and immediately says "Hi, this is the last time you order delivery." I was shocked, because the other time I ordered through Grubhub so the store delivery guy wouldn't know me. He then goes on a rant about how I live 11 miles away, and it's too far, and never again, etc. I was stupified. I have ring footage but we are so far out you can't hear him, you only see him flailing his hands and vigorously jamming his fingers towards me to make a point. I do have some doorbell footage of him saying "eleven miles, eleven miles, is too much, never again." He tells me he called several times to cancel, but I had one missed call total while I was walking the dog. Then he yells at me that next time I have to call about the vegan, and order through someone else. He goes on about how he would have cancelled it but it takes a week for the money to go back on the card, and everyone complains about the week. Finally I had enough, and tried to speak to him. He interrupted me three times. I was done at this point and said, "you don't have to be rude, and I won't," and he cut me off AGAIN and said "I understand." Understand what? I didn't get to finish. I said, "no you don't understand, I'm the Damonte mom whose son just took his own life, I'm home alone, haven't eaten all weekend, and wanted a vegan pizza. I'm sorry I live far, I'm sorry you didn't cancel it, you don't have to worry about delivery I will NEVER order from you again." YOU GUYS HE KEPT GOING. He kept going on about the money taking too long, order from Grubhub. How I know I'm vegan but maybe just move the cheese aside. I said "dude, I don't care about the money, I don't care to have this conversation, it's okay, you lost my business." It should be noted that he didn't leave a voicemail attempting to cancel. He called only once and hung up. I run a business and the phones roll to me over the weekend. I get many many spam calls, and when people call and hang up, I don't call back. If he was so put out he could have left a voicemail that I would have heard when I took out my phone, and given me the option to cancel. He did not. Instead he drove 11 miles to yell at me alone in my driveway. read more

So, it looks like this chain has made it to Reno from CA. Another pizza chain ya figure right? Well, no, the name gives nothing away to this chain's uniqueness. This "twist" n the name has nothing to do with twisted baked bread knots or anything like that. The real twist here is that beside offering all the normal kinds of pizza and even Calzones, they offer Indian Style Pizza! What? Ya figure, what's that? Well, someone decided that Indian flavores of Tandori, Paneer and masala might be good on a pizza! THis chain is already a success in CA where there's a higher population of Indian people, the Asian ones, not the tribal ones. But who know maybe it'll take off in Reno! There's already two locations. This location used to be an Indian restaurant connected to the adjoining hotel, but now you can get pizza! I've had this Indian style pizza before in CA and it's good, but what really drew me to this location was I noticed they have deep dish Chicago style pizza! I've been disappointment with all the versions in NV that I've had of deep dish pizza. All the versions I've had, the crust was too corn mealy, like I was eating cornbread pizza! I noticed here as well, you can get the pizzas partially cooked, or half baked is the term used. It cooked halfway so you can finish it off in your own oven at home. If you live 30 miles away or more you'd be in for a luke warm pizza at home and soggy. This is a good option if you want pizza the next day even. The dining area is clean and a little spartan, but I'm here for the food! I saw Calzone on the menu for just $10. I ordered the G-Force combo with pepperoni, cheese, sausage, salami, Canadian bacon and ground beef, that's a lotta meat! It came out in a timely manner and was delicious! I only ate half and took the other half home. Since I wanted to try the deep dish I ordered a half baked to go med combo deep dish. I was hoping the fillings (toppings) were filled thick enough to make it a real deep dish with deep fillings. It came out and I checked it out before leaving. The people were so nice there, asking if I needed and more cheese or peppers. It certianly looked deep. Arriving home, we set it in the oven at 425F for 30 minutes. These deep dish pizzas take longer to cook, just cause they're so thick! The crust browned up nicely and the cheese was all hot and melted. Cutting into this, I was happy to see the thickness of the fillings and the crust wasn't a cornmeal based crust. It maybe wasn't quite as good as the A Class pizzas in the Bay Area, but definitely worth getting again. This is the best deep dish I've had in NV. I'm not sure about doing Indian style deep dish though. Try the deep dish pizza here! read more

First and foremost, I am not a fan of Indian food at all. But I have been craving pizza and usually always eat at Grimaldis or pizza plus but saw great reviews for Chicago's Pizza with A Twist and wanted to give them a try. I was very nervous ordering since they have an Indian twist to their pizzas but I ordered the Buttered chicken pizza (it was so good!,) Three Idiots (absolutely delicious,) and Curry Paneer(pretty good but was different.) Best place that serves vegan pizza. Unreal. I don't just hand out 5 stars but the service was great, food was so tasty, and environment was clean and friendly. My bf and I got two vegan pizzas (newly vegans) so we're picky, and this is by far the best we tried out of 10. The cauliflower Buffalo wings were good but the pizza was outstanding. I can't begin to say how absolutely delicious the twist pizza is! We got a regular supreme and a chicken tikka masala pizza. Never ever will we get the normal pizzas. Not because it wasn't good, but because the pizza with a twist is AMAZING!! Incredibly delicious!! I never in my wildest dreams would have thought that Indian and pizza would mesh so well. I have driven pass this spot so many times but never made time to go inside. I've been into Door Dash lately and their service made this meal happen. The pizza was warm on arrival and all the usual condiments were included, including a ranch dip for the crust. The bread is chicago style but I especially like it because the crust isnt dense. The indian flavors are not overwhelming and the texture is not heavy. This is a good change to the usual pizza flavors. I will definitely be back, probably via Door Dash. read more

Came in last night with my wife,We phone ordered a large pizza with 2 halves. One half was the lamb and other half was the tandoori chicken. The lamb was really good. It' had a good balance of flavors and the lamb was cooked well. The chicken was pretty good too, but it's hard to mess that up. The pizza crust was perfect. This place was so disappointing. I went with two friends, and we were all really intrigued by the concept of Indian-flavored pizza. I and another person both got the tikka masala pizza. I asked for medium spice, and my friend asked for hot. Neither of us could discern any level of spice at all on our pizza. Also, both were missing the complex mix of spices that come in a good tikka masala; all we tasted was chicken and cumin. My other friend was treated rudely by staff when they brought out her pizza and it had an ingredient she didn't realize was on there and that she was allergic to. The ingredient wasn't listed on the menu, so she didn't know she needed to ask for it to be removed, but the staff member just accused her of not letting them know. As for ambiance, it's pretty basic, almost reminding me of a fast food restaurant, which I suppose is what we should have expected of a restaurant connected to an Econo Lodge. I will note it's been a while since I've been here, so maybe things have improved. It's certainly a good concept, and if I'm correct, the people who own it also own one of my favorite Indian restaurants in town, so it seems like this could be so much better than it is. read more

We stumbled upon this place primarily because it was attached to our hotel. Family run, they offer both traditional and India inspired flavors. We ordered a traditional thin crust w pepperoni, sausage, olives. Food arrived on a serving stand w serving spatula , plates and tableware. We also got small envelopes of parmigiana and red pepper. We also got a squirt bottle w some kind of white sauce which turned out to be very tasty on the pizza. No fountain drinks but bottles of soft drinks and water are for sale. The pizza was excellent with a nice crunch to the pie and generous amounts of cheese. The whole pie was pipping hot and between the two of us ate the whole thing! There is no decoration per de, just tables and a few booths. There seemed to be a game room of some sorts attached w arcade games. Can't tell you more cause we were coming off a 20 hour travel day and all we wanted was to eat and go to bed. It seemed to be a favorite of locals as they were all greeted like friends when they came in. Our servers were very polite, friendly and delivered everything quickly. While I have not actually been to the restaurant, I have ordered from here twice now on Uber Eats and I think it's going to be my new go-to takeout restaurant for pizza. I absolutely love Indian food and I love the approachability and ease of pizza, and this is the best of both worlds. It's a really neat thing to order when you have friends over and becomes a great conversation starter, and the food is phenomenal itself too. They're spicy levels are suitably spicy, although I wish they did have an extra spicy level I'm not complaining! Their spicy is definitely spicy enough for most. I highly recommend trying both their Indian pizzas and their curry bread as they are extremely flavorful and unique. The crust is surprisingly good for a place that I figured would ride on novelty. Admittedly, I've actually yet to try a traditional pizza from them so I don't know if their marinara is great but who cares? I don't see why I would ever get a run of the mill Mariana and pepperoni pizza when I can have spicy lamb curry and paneer pizza! Absolutely give them a try. I'd been wanting to try this place out for years, as I love pizza and am a huge fan of Indian cuisine. Great flavors and textures all around and who would've thought the same philosophy would apply to pizza? I enjoyed the butter chicken pizza and it definitely delivered on all fronts. The crust was crispy on the bottom, but chewy on the bite, the sauce was very flavorful and creamy as well and the chicken was very tender. I also had a tiramisu and it was actually pretty authentic in terms of flavor. I definitely will be back to try out some of the other Indian style pizzas.
