Pork belly gyro on the right. Steak Pita on the left.
    Serena L.

Visited their northwest Reno location and tried the steak gyro and pork belly gyro. Gyros were made to order so took a bit of a wait, but not bad! Gyros were good, slightly on the pricier side. For those who need a little a little bit of heat with your food, tobacco and sriracha sauce are available by the soda machine. Kind of wished the fries were crispier. Inside was casual, a perfect meet up spot for catching up. Employees were friendly and plenty of parking available.

Ordered take out which was quick to be ready on DoorDash. The Mediterranean bowl was good as was the falafel. I liked the fried chickpeas on the top for a crunch. Decent, average Mediterranean food.

Best falafel wrap ever. Perfection. The falafel was very flavorful, green, and moist. I'm in love with the chewy, herby, bubbly pita. Great balance of sauce & crisp veggies. The fries were a real treat too! Friendly service and healthy, delicious food. Can't wait to return!

Fast casual & great Greek-American food Checked it out with a lamb gyro, because that's hard for me to conjure out of my home kitchen. The lamb gyro had a good and balanced amount of meat in it, and there were a few fries in there to add some texture-fun. Tzatziki was nice, and he tomatoes fresh, and they successfully skipped the onions. Great food & quick staff, kept it hopping.

So happy they opened a location closer to my house. I had previously tried the other location after seeing a deal on Uber Eats and the Mediterranean bowl became a quick favorite. This location is no different! I went on the grand opening day to receive the free entree and was greeted by the owner in line. Everything moved very quickly and my food tasted fresh and flavorful. I came back the same evening to get a Mediterranean bowl! My fav part is that they use basmati rice and it doesn't spike my blood sugar levels! This location can expect to see me more.

Went to the opening celebration of Nick the Greek on North McCarran. Despite inviting what felt like everyone in town to a free lunch and the long lines, everything ran very smoothly. The staff was friendly, the service was fast, and the food came out hot and delicious. It's a small place, but there are still several spots to sit. We ended up getting our food to go. I ordered the Gyro Plate with the beef and lamb combo, rice, pita bread, tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki. It also came with a Greek salad. Everything was really tasty, and there was more than enough food. I'm already looking forward to our next visit. They set the bar pretty high on opening day, but I have a feeling they'll continue to live up to it.

Right off McCarran in Reno, Nick the Greek is easy to get to with plenty of parking, which makes it a convenient stop. Inside is clean and casual with a simple, modern setup. Nothing flashy, but comfortable and well kept. Good spot for a quick sit down meal. Service was easy and straightforward. Ordered at the counter, staff were friendly, and the food came out pretty quick. We tried the lamb gyro, souvlaki chicken plate, and pork belly plate. The gyro had good flavor and a solid portion, and the pita held together well. The chicken plate was the highlight. Tender, well seasoned, and balanced with the sides. The pork belly was rich and filling, with nice texture. Overall, a solid go to for Greek food in Reno.

We had a pleasant experience during the grand opening of the new Nick the Greek in Northwest Reno. Everyone was really friendly and accommodating even thought it was especially busy during the grand opening. We got in within about 30 min and talked to one of the owners who gave us some good recommendations. Since I have eaten at the other Nicks, I decided to branch out and ordered the Pork Belly Gyro. It was delicious, and I also tried the greek fries which were tasty. Glad to see another Nick the Greek in Reno, it's a great lunch spot and one of the best gyro spots in Reno!

Steak and chicken souvlaki platters, side of fries, green jalapeno ranch sauce

Excited to have a new healthy-er option in NW Reno! The ingredients overall seemed really fresh and good quality, especially the steak -and it was cooked perfectly. For the price, I would have maybe liked a bit bigger portion of rice, but it was enough to have some leftover for a small lunch so portions overall were ok. Main critique is the price- was not expecting to spend almost $50 on fast casual food for 2 people. $5 for a small container of fries and $1.50 for a tiny side of extra sauce seemed a bit steep.

The sauce is good and the pita bread is super chewy. Loved my lamb gyro bowl and the other food was good too.

I love Greek food, happy to see this location pop up in NW Reno! We made a lunch order from work and even with the delay from food made to eaten (on our end, not theirs) the food was still fresh, delicious, and warm. Heavy on the sauce, this Chicken Souvlaki Pita was a win. Loved the pita, the crunchy veggies, and the delicious grilled chicken.

Yaaayy I'm so excited this location is finally open! We stopped in for the grand opening and came back 2 days later for more! Can't go wrong with a beef/lamb gyro! The greek fries are tangy and covered in garlic butter and feta, yum!

Outstanding opening day celebration for the new North West Reno location. All three cousins Nick, Nick and Nick were there for this locations grand opening. This sounds like crazy talk, but for those that got there between 12:00 and 2:30 today, they received any entrée off the menu free. The line wasn't terribly long and moved quickly. We got there around noon and were probably sitting at a table inside eating a meal within 45 minutes. As with the other location, this food is phenomenal. We both ordered gyros, traditional lamb for me and chicken for my spouse. These came loaded and could've been split between two people. If you haven't tried Nick's the Greek give it a shot the next time you're looking for something a little unusual. The accommodations were great, plenty of seating. The staff were very courteous and with those lines that must not have been easy. Give em a try, you'll probably want to go back. I'm giving 5 stars, not just because my meal was free, but the food was delicious. If they can handle a day like this with smiles I can only imagine how good it will be on a normal day.

I'm still going down a long list of burger places to compare. Beefy's is my 5th place to try…read more Local spot with character and plenty of seating inside and out with the combo of bar+bus+picnic tables. Lots of fans including mist fan outside to fight the heat. Bus feels spacious but seating is a bit cramped with tiny metal bench seats. Lots of other options other than burgers (hot dogs, chicken, etc) but come on, what's the name of the place? Service was fast, about 15 minutes to get our burgers but the place was near empty on a weekday mid afternoon after the typical lunch period. Insider tip I got: If the place is even 1/3rd full, be prepared for a long wait (minimum half hour?) I noticed quite a few reviews mentioned the prices were high. And when I got the bill for $60 for two people with tax and tip I might have agreed, at first, especially if my main repeat burger joints were In-n-out/Wendy's/Jack-n-Box. But comparing to those places is not apples-to-apples. It's 1/3 lbs patties here (70% more than the just below 1/4 lbs of meat you get on a Double Double) and quite a step up in meat quality from those chains. About $16+ for single patty burger and $20+ for double, but that also includes fries and a drink. I get the feeling people complaining about the prices have to be burger addicts with the review perspective of a frequent In-n-Out patron which allows getting your "fix" more frequently on the average budget. I would prefer if I could opt-out of the full meal deal for a lesser price and just get a burger. If you get a beer, the included soft drink is redundant or unnecessary. And some may prefer to focus on the protein without additional carbs/calories from the fries. But granted this isn't a place to be counting calories. Burger is high quality all around and they cooked them actually medium rare as ordered. Many places don't give a cook temp option or still overcook. Fries were great, better than the freezer burnt airy texture of In-n-Out. My only criticism is both the fries and the patty had too much salt but not to an inedible point. A common occurrence though given the cook's and/or typical frequent fast food eater's salt-desensitized palate. So Beefy's ties at #2 with The Parlor sitting between my #1 Royce and #3 Archie's, then #4 Juicy's. Armando & Sons and Barrio Burger are next.

For starters, the food is decent…read more With that said, if you advertise Happy Hour prices, they should be honored. I went specifically for the Happy Hour wings, and when I received the check, the price didn't reflect the amount stated on the menu. I asked to speak with the owner, and instead of correcting it, she told me she gave me a quarter off and, with a smug smile, said, "Thank you very much." Sorry, lady, but your food isn't that great for you to be so confidently rude. In addition, this was my second visit this week. I only returned because my sister loves chicken wings, and because of the advertised "Happy Hour" price, I decided to give them another try. We also ordered a plain burger to go with just cheese, and when I got home, it was loaded with all the fixings, including sauce. I called several times to have the issue addressed, but no one answered. When I told the servers about the situation during this visit, instead of trying to make it right, they gave me a half-hearted apology. So yes, the food might be diner decent, but the owner's attitude and the poor service make the entire experience worse. I've worked in customer service for over 30 years, and not once have I treated a paying customer the way I was just treated. And if they want to respond to this review to justify their shitty service, great. Go for it. I was polite the entire time. All I asked was to be heard, for their advertised pricing to be honored, and for some basic appreciation for my business by simply making things right. Instead, the owner insultingly put two quarters on the table, as if 50 cents somehow made up for the $8-$9 difference we were being overcharged. It didn't. If anything, it made an already frustrating situation feel even more dismissive. And it really was an easy fix. If they couldn't adjust the Happy Hour pricing for whatever reason, she could have easily taken the $18 pastrami sandwich off the bill to make up for both the pricing discrepancy and the incorrect order we received during our previous visit just two days earlier. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I was asking for an owner to recognize that her restaurant had made mistakes on two separate visits and make a genuine effort to correct them. In a city full of burger options, she had an opportunity to turn a negative experience into a positive one and potentially make lasting customers out of my family and me. Instead, she chose to be dismissive, smug, and rude over something that could have been resolved in a matter of minutes. That tells me everything I need to know about how she values her customers.

The owner of Ruby Shake Shop routinely parks his Audi in the limited public street parking spaces along South Virginia Street directly in front of Raising Cane's, Ike's Love & Sandwiches, and the surrounding businesses. Anyone familiar with this area knows parking can already be difficult, especially during peak hours when people are trying to grab lunch, pick up an order, or make a quick stop. What makes this particularly frustrating is that these spaces appear to be occupied for extended periods of time, often throughout the day, by someone who owns and operates a nearby business. Public street parking in a busy commercial corridor is a shared resource intended to serve customers and visitors, not to function as a personal parking space for a single business owner.
