I usually come here after the skatepark, all stoned and tired and its always refreshing. While the pizzas are good and with interesting blends and toppings i recently noticed they used some slices from the night before, which i can tell weren't fresh..especially when i asked for it unheated and they heat it up for 6 minutes anyway..usually to hide the fact its old lol This doesn't happen much at all as most of the time its delicious, with a nice staff as well. Im not crazy about how they have the pies set up, they are a bit too close to the public ordering on the counter, they need a proper display case, simple. Moved to the area recently and this place is in walking distance. I've only had pizza, meatball and chicken parm heroes. all were delicious. The semolina bread is outstanding. The place is very clean and staff is always friendly. Will definitely be back to try out some of the dishes and then give this place 5 stars read more

After sampling almost every pizza place in Commack, this has the best pizza. Everyone there is really helpful and friendly. Last time I was there, they offered to help someone to their car with their food beecause they seemed to have some trouble carrying it. The place is always busy with orders so the food never sits for a long time and everything tastes fresh. The store is clean. read more

Excellent pizza. The crust is exceptional, the sauce is flavorful, and the slices are a nice size. Tried a regular slice first because to me the proof is in the pudding. Gotta say it was as good as it gets in the Commack/Hauppauge area, which also boasts Emilio's and La Scala, among others. Upside down square (cheese on bottom, sauce on top) is really, really good. BBQ chicken slice and buffalo chicken slice hold their own in taste, quality, and quantity. But it's the crust that sets them apart from other places. My buddy raved over the grilled chicken with spinach and sun-dried tomato slice and also loved the regular slice. Definitely recommend. read more

Having taken over the storefront of a failed, dismal, pizzeria, I expected a lot more from the pretty interior of and frou-frou named, "Pizzaiolo Gourmet Eatery." Unfortunately, looks are deceiving. The very small and narrow eatery has only a few movable tables, of which one group of ten or so will, basically, take over the place! The Sbarro- or Cici's-like counter is very long, and has lots of ready-to-heat pizzas and other food items for anyone coming in who wants a bite or whole pizza, quickly. The only problem with the layout is that, if they get even one person examining the many food items in the glass case, having no labels or descriptions ("What's that?" was parroted by us and everyone else who came in), they will not only take forever to decide, but will also block the waitstaff from giving seated customers the food. The very large, plain, pizza we ordered for take-out tasted of little more than cardboard; we couldn't taste any sauce or cheese. The texture was right out of the 1970s: rubbery with massive oily drippings. I also ordered a meatball parmigiana hero to go, which was bland, though the texture of the bread and meatballs was better than I get from other places: just the right amount of toasting and the right density of flavorless meatballs; the cheese was barely perceptible. Our only thought was, "Dominos does this WAY better!" If you have to eat here, do so during "off" hours, as it took about 20 minutes to get our food (lord knows how long it'll take when they have a lot of lunch and dinner orders). While the price was acceptable (about $25 for both items), in our opinion, there was nothing "gourmet" about Pizzaiolo Gourmet Eatery - - which suffers from the better competition with the other small restaurants in the strip mall - - and, as such, we find no reason to return. read more

Used to be great. Garlic knots are so dry you can choke on them. Pizza is inconsistent. Specialty slices change all the time. Bottom of my slice was burnt. Crust tastes like bottom of a burnt pan. Did they sell and change owners? Not ordering from here anymore. Back to Brooklyn Pizza. Staff is very nice though. read more

ok - after feeling bad about my initial review I have been back to Pizzaiolo and I am glad that I did. First off I spoke to the owner regarding the Panini issue and he actually did update his menu to now call it a Chibatta sandwich not a Panini. Second, I went in last night and ordered the Venetian Penne and it was delicious!!! the sauce was very tasty, there was plenty of chicken, mushrooms and spinach. You could actually get a salad and this dish and share it with someone. I am currently eating it for lunch. So not only was it delicious it was economical as I got 2 meals out of it. Two weeks ago I ordered a full tray of Chicken Parmigiana and half tray of Caesar Salad for my daughter's engagement party. The Chicken Parm was over the top, very fresh and incredibly tasty.
