We have been coming here for quite a while now. We would always get the white pizza. Which is very very very good. Tonight we switched it up and got an 8 inch white thin crust, and an 8 inch cheese pie with New York crust. Cheese pie was excellent. Both pies had a nice crispy crust. The sauce on the cheese pie was very good!! We found the right combo now and the right place for pizza. Almost forgot the people who work there. Very nice. Friendly and pleasant. Want great pizza ? It's a "pizza" place not a go to Italian restaurant. Simple decor some tables and small cooler with some soda and water. Their lunch special is a bargain with an 8 inch pizza with one topping and a drink. The pizza was done great with thin crust and ample toppings. If you're looking for first date ambience this ain't it but good pizza this is the place. read more

It's been a few months since I had pizza and wanted to try Pizzaissmo again. I was not disappointed! Carry out this time. Just olives and onions. Loved that I was asked red or white was onions! Came a little earlier as it was in the oven when I arrived. Upon bring it home, everything was amazing! The smell, texture, sauce and toppings! Love a good pizza! This is a very unassuming little pizza shop in a Publix shopping center. But don't be fooled, the pizza is LEGIT. Having grown up on Jersey shore/NY pizza, I don't gravitate toward the large pizza chains. I want high quality pizza, and this is it. The best pizza I've had in Brandon, a definitely a favorite in the broader Tampa Bay area. Highly recommend trying them out! read more

I randomly had a taste for pizza and this was the first place that popped up. It's about 8 minutes away from where I live so I said why not? I approached the restaurant and saw that they have a lunch special for $7.75. That's a deal. Personal pizza, one topping, and a drink. Can't beat that at all. I, however, got a personal pizza but got 4 toppings. Grilled chicken, pineapple, jalapeños, and bacon. After I ordered, it took about 8 minutes for it to be ready. I dined in, they bring it to you. Two men were working. Very nice men and helpful. It was a quiet restaurant and very pleasant. This will definitely be my go to pizza place for here on out. read more

The combination of the jalapeños and honey was a combination that is surprisingly good and is one of the most unique pizzas I have ever had. I absolutely loved it. Was running a lot of errands, hunger kicked in, saw the big lunch special sign on the window so decided to pop in and got a personal size pizza with mushrooms and a drink. Staff were very polite and kind. Wait was short and I took it to go. Got in the car planning for just a few bites before I began driving but ended up eating 3 out of the 4 slices right in my car cause I couldn't resist just another bite, then another... you see how it went. Found this slice of deliciousness when my boyfriend and I were debating on who has the best pizza in Brandon, Florida. We were both craving a thin crust, well done, simple pepperoni, cheese & jalapeño pizza. Portnoy's reviews sparked our debate & this is why we found this great place. We have ordered from Pizzaissimo twice and the second time I ordered on-line. It was refreshing to see a well done or crispy option. It's always pleasant to taste a char on the bottom of your crust that isn't the taste of burnt bread. Two guys were working the typical pizza joint and they were both friendly. The young man working the counter was kind and honest when I asked several questions about recommendations. The location seemed to be doing a great deal of phone and on-line orders. They have several tables, but have only seen a couple people in the restaurant the two times we've picked up our order. This would be the perfect place to grab dinner after any sports event or lunch with some friends. Parking is not a concern, it's located in a strip plaza that shares spaces with Publix. Prices are reasonable and average for quality pizza, recommend this place, it won't disappoint! read more

Newest pizza joint in Brandon area. I ordered their "individual" size spinach artichoke pizza and added chicken and bacon to the topping. Individual size is actually an 11 inch pie, not like those cute personal pan pizzas that Pizza Hut used to serve. Fairly decent tasting, but I wasn't blown away. I would have to try a different pizza pie like sausage to make a final decision on this place. read more

My husband gave me the task today to find a new pizza spot. Somehow (I've been told) that I have a talent for finding the best places. We were not disappointed. The pizza was out in 10 minutes. We ordered a 16" Works. It came steaming hot and the crust was thin and crispy. Plenty of toppings but not so many to be overwhelming. Sauce was good and everything tasted fresh. We took an order of garlic knots home and didn't open the box until we got home and they were huge! I'm not from NYC but I have eaten pizza there and this pizza was as good as any I have had. Right off the bat they don't have wings which is a bummer for a pizza joint, especially one that offers dine in. They don't have fountain drinks, just a cooler, which is fine to me because I usually get water. They also advertise brick oven, but there's no brick oven. On the bright side, the pizza was fantastic. The sauce was amazing, the cheese was perfectly layered and the pepperoni had great flavor and was not too greasy. I would definitely order their pizza again. Maybe not dine in, but on that note, the dining experience was great and service was great. Hidden gem in Brandon. We've tried almost every pizza shop in the greater Tampa area chasing a favorite, and this has claimed the title so far. The crust is the perfect thickness and chew, great ingredients (good pepperoni and real minced garlic) and the best knots this native New Yorker has had outside the northeast. The pizza is good, no doubt about it. However, I dined in this afternoon and an older guy that was working felt compelled to talk about someone that had a lazy eye, and called them retarded. I'm shocked that a pizza maker in his 40s or 50s would feel compelled to make fun of a medical condition. Especially in front of customers.. I myself have a lazy eye. Needless to say I won't be back. Amazing New York style pizza right in Brandon! The owner puts his heart and soul in his food. A local pizza joint serving up fresh ingredients and homemade recipes. The staff is polite and efficient. I am so happy to find a Nee York style local pizza place that truly tastes good! They offer lunch specials as well. One day we ordered a pizza and a calzone. It was delicious! I was only in town for a short time and I was looking for a quick bite to eat to bring back to my hotel. Glad I found this place! The pizza was excellent. I'm new to the area but being from NJ I really wanted real pizza and I haven't had a chance to look for a pizza joint. I found this place and I was so surprised. My daughter ordered a personal cheese and she was extremely happy. I ordered a specialty pizza with caramelized onions and hot honey. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I placed the order and ran next door to pick up some groceries and by the time I got back my order was ready and they even brought it to my table since they seen my hands full. Not a large menu like pastas and salads but if you looking for no frills pizza with great taste I would definitely pay them a visit. They offer traditional NY style crust and a deep dish. We got the pepperoni deep dish and split the Large Cappy which had all the toppings. We were a trio of old-time Brandon residents, back to visit friends and relatives. Naturally, first thing we wanted to check out was some food! Well, after we got caught up on the gossip and all. All three of us were doing the online food finder thing. My buddy mentioned he saw Babe's still had their sign up. WHAT????? No way, man. They closed a while back. Supposed to have some kind of diner or something going into that building. That's when, through the magic of the internet, we found the listing for Babe's. It mentioned nothing about being closed. In fact, it listed the hours of service. Hmmmmmmm, we were thinking. Then, we started reading the reviews. The most RECENT reviews. Never mind some of the old ones. That is no longer relevant history. Best pizza, one guy says. It's just like it always was, says another. NOTHING has changed. Well, THAT was good enough for some long-time Babe's patrons. We jumped in the car and headed out. NO NEED for GPS. WE knew the way. The place was pretty busy. Dine in AND a LOT of takeout orders. The owner, Nick, immediately welcomed us and truly made us feel welcome. Over the course of our meal, he and a few other staff stopped by to ensure all of our double decker needs were being met! We were VERY impressed with the high level of care and service. Even better when my 'side' salad arrived. It was HUGE. We all shared it and we dang near got full on just that. And then, the moment of truth appeared.... This super nice young lady was walking towards us, with a VERY familiar sight. The arousing aroma hit us before she even got to our table. When she parked that sizzling double decker Babe's Special down on our table, we WERE transported back in time. To the last time we dined at Babe's. AND, to the FIRST time we ever dined at Babe's! NOT one thing about anything has changed. Double YUMMMMMMMM! Thank you, Nick and the Babe's gang! Welcome home....

The Spicy Pep-N-Rollie was unique & satisfying. The No Brainer Deluxe pizza was fresh & hot. The crust was pretty average. Not my favorite crust, but everything else tasted good. The veggie toppings are chopped too small in my opinion. Having larger cut veggies is a personal preference. The taste was all there. What sets them apart from other pizza chains are the friendly owners. They are very hands on with their business, and provide great service. They really care, and support community projects including animal rescue and hurricane relief. Check it out if you happen to be in the area. I'm looking forward to trying the garlic knots and half baked cookies. I love the branding & creative menu item names. It's cool & fun!
