My friends and I ate at Anthony's yesterday at approximately 6:00 P.M. We have a table that we like to sit at. It is near a speaker and, even though we were the ONLY people in the restaurant, the manager said he could not turn the music down. Our server was lovely but there are changes all cutting food items or the size. The small Italian salad is now served on a plate instead of a bowl (less product). You no longer get focaccia bread with the Eggplant Marino appetizer. We were so disappointed that we may not be going back even though we have been eating there every other month for probably 5 - 10 years. read more

Pizza is always great here however, they always forget the extras that I order and pay for. Whoever is bagging the to go orders needs to refer to the order receipt and make sure everything is in the bag that was ordered. Today we ordered delivery and the salad came without the gorgonzola that we paid for. This isn't the first time this has happened. I had to call and ask for a refund. Also, the 4 piece mini cannoli dessert lacks filling. They only put a dot of filling on each end to make the cannoli look full. Once you bite into it, the entire center of the shell is empty. I don't mind well done pizza but i couldn't eat half the crust (esp the bottom right section in the picture) because it just tasted burnt. The crust is my favorite part and it was tasteless. The texture of the crust (that wasn't burnt) was chewy and good. I'm also a red sauce girl, so I was disappointed that the base was cheese and there was only a couple of red sauce dollops on top. The past few times I have been here I have been disappointed, so I probably need to take a break. This time, I had downloaded the app, which was supposed to give me a free soup and salad. I have eaten here nearly a dozen times in the past. Have ordered pizza every time. However, this time I ordered the meatball sandwich. The "bread" was basically pizza dough, which was fine with me, but it was pretty thick and dominated the sandwich. The meatballs were pretty good and I liked how they were sliced (making it easier to take a bite. The sandwich came with provolone and a hot pepper. I asked to leave off the pepper, while they did. Unfortunately, as you can see on the picture that I took of the inside of the sandwich, there was no cheese. Typically I would have brought this to the attention to our server. Given that we were dining with friends I decided to not make a fuss. This is the second of two disappointing visits in a row. Time to look for other options. read more

As always, the food is great. Never a complaint for the kitchen. However, the wait staff leaves a lot to be desired. It was frustrating to wait so long to be seen after we sat down. We waited for our server to come ask if our food was good. Nothing about specials. Nothing about appetizers. Nothing about dessert. And finally, we waited forever to get the check. We watched for what seemed like 20 minutes while our server rolled silverware. Totally clueless about her tables. A server walked by and said it would be a few minutes. 30 minutes later we were still standing in the doorway, actively being ignored by the staff, open tables still visible. Food/price: while I don't remember the price of each individual pizza, our total for below with tax was about $48. - Paulie's Pie: baby meatballs, Italian sausage, ricotta cheese, and we specifically asked for half sweet peppers and half of their long hot finger peppers. Great portions of meat and the half sweet and half hot peppers was a great move my husband made. Some of those hot peppers really are SPICY, and I have a pretty solid heat tolerance. - Roasted Cauliflower: square pizza topped with cauliflower roasted with olive oil and garlic, Romano, mozzarella cheese, and breadcrumbs. This smells so good when you open the box. Generous portions of cauliflower, such an umami flavored pizza and I think it paired excellently with the paulie's pie. You have the hot bite and the nice soothing bite of this one. Overall, the pizzas were great! A little pricey but I thought the quality made it worth it. read more

We stopped in last minute on a Friday night around 7 and were seated right away. The restaurant was clean and tidy, the workers were all doing a great job. I like the simple layout of the place, seems to make for better, easier, faster service. Our food came out quickly and our server was fantastic (thanks Chelsea!) We ate at Anthony's quite often because the food was very good. Three months ago, we asked for a box to take home a few pieces of pizza we couldn't finish and SURPRISE there was an enormous cockroach in the box. My wife screamed, threw the box on the floor. The manager was there in a flash and the gist of what he said was this, "Oh, there's been cockroachs in every restaurant I've worked at." Went here for the first time with friends! We sat outside and had a great time catching up with each other. The staff was the best here they continuously checked up on us and offered suggestions on the menu and answered any questions that we asked. I had the Maria's meatballs which were good and nice and hot. I also had a slice of the traditional pepperoni pizza. My table also had the wings and garlic knots. These 2 items are the best. Absolutely the worst pizza I've ever had. The crust was hard and cold. The ingredients were all dumped in the center leaving as much as 2-3 inches of plain crust. This is a tough one. I liked the food, but my overall experience makes it a 3 star review for this location only. I say that because I didn't see the fine print on the website that states, "Full bar vs beer/wine restaurants vary by location." I was anticipating that they would have the Anthony's Mojito that I saw on their website that has Dragon Berry Bacardi Rum. I asked about it and was told they only do passion fruit and that it's on their specialty drink menu. I like passion fruit so I ordered it. Towards the end of the meal, I asked the server what brand of rum was in this drink. I needed to know because I didn't like it. That's when she told me that it was wine-based. I really think that people need to know that it's wine-based up front. I was expecting rum and this mojito was horrible. Just so you all know, this location only serves wine and beer. The food was good. I didn't want pizza because I'm not really into well-done pizza. I wanted to eat light anyway. We split the regular size order of Eggplant Marino. This is named after my favorite quarterback, Dan Marino. We also split the small order of the Maria's Meatballs and a small order of Arugula Salad with Burrata. We liked all 3 of them. The eggplant is very simple. It's thinly sliced and breaded eggplant with just romano cheese and tomato sauce in between the layers. The presentation was nice with the large sprig of basil. The meatballs were very good with the ricotta cheese and bread on the side. I really liked the Focaccia bread. It was perfect for dipping into the sauce. The arugula salad is another item that I would order again. The double shot of espresso with the lemon peel slice was the perfect ending. The service was great with the exception of not being told about the wine-based drinks. I wouldn't have known to ask since this was my first time at this restaurant. Who would ask that question anyway when ordering a mojito? I should have asked about the rum, and I know now to do that next time I visit another Anthony's location. The location is very noisy, and it's hard to carry on a conversation when it's full. This location is very busy. The pizza looked very good. I only saw charred edges, and I'd definitely try it one day if I find out for sure that the bottom isn't charred. I just don't know that yet. I want to go back and try the roasted chicken wings. It will most likely be a to-go order next time. I'll update my review once I've tried the other menu items. Update: I forgot to mention that it was freezing cold in there too. I'm usually hot all the time (after having chemotherapy a couple of years back). It was uncomfortably cold here even with all the people inside the restaurant. It's a beautiful day here in Tampa/Brandon, so I'd decided to try this place. Saw on the google listing that they have outdoor tables, but the ones up front at this hour are the only one that get sunlight. So I chose to sit at the bar inside. I was greeted by a polite and upbeat bartender who asked if I wanted a drink. I told her I'd think about that. After about 5 minutes I asked her for a red Sangria, pictured. It is good, but the glass had a some white food residue stuck to it. Not a bad value. Then I waited about 5 more minutes and had to ask for a menu. Meanwhile the bartender (who is ALSO serving tables) gave menu and some helpful ordering advice. At the same time there was an employee at the bar wiping down menus. I wound up ordering a carnivore pizza sans meatballs. It took about 16 minutes to come out and it was delicious. The sauce is decent, but not anything super special. The cheese had flavor, the crust was perfect. Also the sausage, pepperoni and bacon was very good. Definitely one of the better pies in this area, except for the sauce, which is neither awesome not bad. Some additional herbs/spices like garlic or basil or even a little salt wouldn't hurt. Another thing I noticed, the bartender had to dump about 30% of a draft beer (Jai Lai) to get it to "pour correctly". This is usually a sign of several things (possibly) 1. Beer is not cold enough at the tap 2. The tap/lines are dirty 3. A dirty glass. The staff does work together well. but I could see my bartender/server doing much more than her share. Waitress was super nice and accommodating. I was a little disappointed to see supreme pizza be taken off the menu. Two pizzas and a 10 count of wings were 90$, which wasn't too bad. The price was due to the "custom" pizza order. I asked for this though, well I asked for their previously made supreme, which after base price of $25ish is 2-3$ per topping after. Either way, pizza is good. I would definitely recommend and definitely return. This isn't the place to go if you're on a budget but definitely nice family establishment. Me and my family sat outside. There was a nice breeze so it was enjoyable. Everything was clean. You will see I included pictures of my drink cups. Came here for my last birthday but didn't tell them that just in case they might sing to us. Pizza is my comfort food and I feel as though it is almost impossible to mess up pizza. With that in mind I have to say that this place was definitely above average. We ordered the Carnivore pie and it had unique meats for options, including meat balls which isn't seen too often. Keep in mind that this is an authentic Italian pizza place, so you will not be seeing any Hawaiian pies of any kind.
