We ordered from here because so many people on neighborhood sites claimed it as the best. We ordered a large pizza, calamari, and tiramisu. The pizza had the toppings mostly in the middle, so the slices were sloppy and soggy. Way onion forward. We removed some toppings from middle and reheated a bit and it was OK. The calamari was over cooked, over breaded, zero flavor. We threw it out. The tiramisu looked like the bottom had been chewed on. It was frozen in the middle. I imagine if it was fresh it would be tasty. We won't order again. Super disappointed. read more

It was tasty! The roll was fresh (more than likely made in house) and the sausage, peppers and onions were delicious. Keep to pizza, your attempts at spaghetti and penne was so bad both had to thrown away. The sauce basically a clotted, crusted lump on top of the pasta and dried meat, a builder could have used it for laying tiles. So yes it was easy to order but never again. read more

If I could give the 10 stars I'd still be complaining that I couldn't give them FIFTEEN! I grew up in Jersey and while a lot of pizza places claim to be "New York" style not only does Pomodoro's claim to be "Jersey" style (yes there's a difference) they deliver on it! If you live in Valrico or Brandon and this isn't your go to pizza spot, you must not know it's there. Hands down one of the best pies I've had since I left Jersey. We also had the garlic knots, little garlic pillows from heaven, and the sauce was amazing too. I only wish I'd have known about this place sooner. I will definitely be going back for more. What I ordered: Cheese pizza : -Pros: dough is good quality in the time to rise and yeast combo. -Cons: The sauce tastes like from the can brand (watery and taste like tomato paste) -The cheese & toppings were spot on. Calamari-skip, bad breading, bad oil, and old squid. Garlic knots: I had a split of a bit on the hard side and a bit on the fresh and chewy side. Salad: I appreciate that the onions are thinly sliced, the tomatoes are not cut too big. Ranch dressing could use an upgrade and the price was fresh and crisp. Shrimp Alfredo: Al dente, too much cream, bit much cheese, no salt on the pasta and the sauce, but I didn't want to waste a good Alfredo aldente consistency so I cared to put salt; I also like to put a bit of a garlic powder (MCormick). Hubs and I stopped in over the weekend to try a slice. It was SOOOO good that we ordered for delivery tonight! We had a hand tossed pepperoni and meatball, garlic cheese bread and the creamy fettuccine bolognese. Oh. My. God! First off, the best NY pie in Brandon, hands down! The sauce is just amazing! They serve it with the bread as well and it is heavenly! The creamy bolognese was just ridiculous! So good, I could NOT stop eating it. I'm from Jersey and live in CA so it's a struggle to find good pizza. I was in Valrico visiting family and decided to get my fix from Pomodoro. I ordered on Yelp (a third party called delivery.com) and as soon as I paid, it said it would be 1-2 hours til my order was ready for pick up!! I just got a large pepperoni so I called right away in a panic and I assume the owner answered - he looked into it right away and said he would give me a call back. It was 7pm so I knew they were busy, but he called me back within 10 min and let me know my order was next and would be ready within 5 min. When we got there, I gave him my name and he greeted me like we knew each other forever. We took it to go but even the dining space was what I miss from Jersey, the perfect Italian kitchen with a homey vibe. I didn't even get to how damn good the pizza is yet.... My gosh it was perfect! Pomodoro Pizza, off of Hwy 60 behind the Walmart Supercenter, is easily one of my top two favorite pizza parlors in Brandon! They're always pleasant when you call to place your order over the phone and patient when telling you what their specials when you ask. Tonight I had my 18-year-old run over there to pick up our order, so I can't attest for the cleanliness inside or safety precautions, but I can definitely attest for the freshness and deliciousness of their pizza and wings!!! When I placed my order I asked the girl on the phone to go easy on the pizza sauce and they definitely did. It was absolutely perfect! The crust was perfectly thin and even. There was cheese up to the half-inch crust (that they leave as a handle!). My favorite part of our pizza order .... They went pepperoni cray-cray and I have no objection to that!!! The pepperoni was definitely a double order even though I only paid for one, it was heavenly! The garlic parmesanwings were plump, crisp, fresh and full of fresh chopped garlic! I consider myself a "garlic expert" and I can see and taste the difference between cheap jarred garlic and fresh minced garlic from the bulb - Pomodoro definitely went all out with the fresh minced garlic... A huge win in my book! Enough to dip my crust in the spoonful of garlic left in the wing container! Good Lord, I could slather garlic on everything I eat! I'd also like to point out that my order was ready in the time window they quoted me. That is a pet peve when they underquote a time frame instead of being honest.
