Decided to try the new pizzeria in camarillo last night. Walked in...5 or 6 people sitting in the dining area.(was not very clean...dishes left on tables) No actual menu hanging above the counter. Ordered calazone, meatball sandwich and slice of pizza ( for me, my wife and my 6 year old daughter). Also ordered water.. On the televisions were a very inappropriate mixed martial art fight that just so happend to be very bloody... (ok for me...but not for my wife and 6 year old...my wife was forced to change her seat so as not to see the bloody carnage) . The calazone was fair,my wife ate half of her meatball sandwich and said it was ok... my daughter did not like her ham and mushroom slice at all...I tried it...she was right...comparatively with the rest of the local za restaurant /take outs...I would say definitely in the bottom group ( personally my rating is #1 Toppers. ..and least fav would be lil Ceasars and dominos). I Told my wife, we wouldn't be ordering pizza from here, however the calazone would be a good lunch from time to time.The girls behind the counter were pleasant . The backdoor was open and you could smell cigarette smoke. So overall, in a pinch we would go back, however, there are to many good pizzerias around to regularly dine here. read more

I recently ordered for the first time. Pizza and sandwich were both very good and the prices are great!

Standard California pizza. Not bad, but not top notch. The pepperoni and jalapeño is pretty good if you like salt/grease/heat. I do. My biggest complaint is showing up during obvious sporting events happening, and there is sports ESPN news on instead of NFL or playoff baseball. Hire a sports nerd to keep the tv's up. read more

We love Pizza Man Dan's. We have used them for many parties and they come with a hot truck and server to feed the guests. The truck stays on and keeps the pizzas piping hot until ready to be served. They have very unique topping options. If you haven't tried Pizza Man Dan's, you're missing out. read more

We eat at PizzaMans all the time. We love it each and every time. Hawaiian BBQ deep dish is the way to go.

Went here late my friends and I were hungy orderd a medium pizza with everything on it...I ended up with a meatball sandwhich and couple of drinks...the pizza was great cheese was melting just enough and toppings were fresh...I tried the meatball sandwhich..nothing fancy here it's a meatball sandwhich but still enjoyable..customer service was up to par..overall if I'm in the area again I'm coming back...keep it up pizza man read more

I reserved a party here for this past weekend. Originally it was supposed be around 30 people. In the end my RSVPs were 50-60. I went by and talked to the employee in charge. I let him know and he was able to accommodate me. At arrival the following day they had everything set up for me, including the big screen and a PlayStation to play along with games. The food was purchased and out in a timely manner, the staff was all so polite and their customer service was amazing. I have always loved their pizza. And their lunch specials are great. I wish I could remember the employees name but he definitely deserves to be recognized. I cant get over how great they made my party. Thanks for making my daughters birthday a success. read more

My boyfriend and I love the food here and always had it delivered at the price of $3.99 for delivery plus a tip to the driver and now it's $15.00 for delivery and we live two blocks from them. I wasn't going to try Pizza Man Dan's when it opened in Camarillo because I figured it would be average. Then I read the menu and found Ortega Green Chillis and Cashews on the menu and decided it couldn't be that bad. Many places don't offer both of these ingredients, which I consider essential to an enlivened pizza experience. The bottom of the crust is perfect. The mix of cheese and heat from the chilli is also perfect. And then there's the surprise texture of the cashews mixed with fresh tomato and meat ball. I'm so good at ordering pizza I get props at PizzaRev, but that's a different story. Dan's served up a tastey pizza and provided great service. Easily worth my precious pizza dollar. Ed will not missed with Pizza Man Dan in town. I bet this place is going to be around a long time. I like having choices and this one will be in the mix with other good pizzas like D'amore's, BiancoRosso, and Manhatten Steakhouse. All of which I like but don't offer cashews or green chillis. read more

I will say their customer service was great and everyone I encountered was friendly. However, I felt the pizza wasn't that great at all. I only ordered because I had a coupon for a wings and pizza deal. For the price I would 100% go with Toppers instead. I never yelp, but because of my recent experience, this one was very necessary. I saw that pizza man dan's was offering a large one topping pizza because of everything going on right now! On my lunch break, I went to go buy one for me and my coworkers since we were drowning. When I ordered the large one topping take out special, everything seemed good. He did not print me out a receipt; he just told me the wait time. I understand things get busy, I work in food. When I checked my bank account, I was charged over 20 dollars for one pizza... which is not what was advertised. When I confronted him about it, he told me I didn't "say it ". We were both wearing masks, so I told him that I did, but he said "oh no, you need to say it". "Sorry". I was on my lunch break, like I had mentioned, so I had to leave. I called customer service and they told me "no receipt, nothing I can do". At this point, I just feel like that was such a big scam. There is no where on either sign posted near the Camarillo building that there's something more to say then "the 1 topping pizza special that's going on, please" . I am completely disappointed, and I will not be returning as a customer. If you choose to go there to specifically get that special, just make sure to mention the special in a few different ways & check with what they charged you. read more

The first time we ordered from Pizzaman Dan's Camarillo it was great. The second and third time very disappointed the Calzone didn't have all the veggies it stated in the menu. They did send out another one it was even worse, no cheese and the crust was over baked and my husband was very disappointed in the pastrami sandwich. I had prepared to give PizzaMan Dans a two star rating that was until this morning when at 7:30am my phone rings with a caller id of 805-658-6666 which Google just informed me is Pizza Man Dans phone number. Why is Dan calling me when they aren't even open? . So for that unsolicited wake-up call PMD went from two stars down to one star. Beware of giving PMD your phone number as either they are selling your phone number or they've been hacked, either way is unacceptable. . Placed our first pick-up order with PMD last month. Order placement went ok with no problems. Arrive at Camarillo location and was quite shocked to see homeless person sleeping on the ground in their outdoor patio area. Not a sign of good management. Open the door to the restaurant and was taken back by the smell, you would think that cats were living in their lobby area because of this smell. . Pizza order was correct so no problems there but can't say their pizza is anything special. Average at best. Perhaps other PMD locations are different, just don't know . Which leaves the big question, would we go back? The answer is no we wont be back. . read more

Went here for a fund raiser for Cam High Marching Band. Pizza is a very competitive market and they aren't going to unseat the King of take out and delivery pizza in this area, their the TOP choice for a reason, but their better then the national chains. We ordered our food as take out and it was a little slow, but that was probably due to all of the other pick up orders for the fund raiser. They let you make your own salad from their salad bar to go and there are to go containers there for your dressings so you can take more then 1. I needed 4 for the amount of salad that the to go container held, nice portion and larger then the aforementioned King. However, that was the only part of their salad that was superior. Less items, Blue cheese dressing did not taste like it was from scratch, but out of a bottle, the ranch however did taste fresh. Didn't taste any of the other dressings. We also got a dozen wings with BBQ sauce. They were cooked perfectly and the bbq sauce was tasty (KC masterpiece at a guess). The garlic cheese bread was just ok and overpriced. For pizza we tried the Pizzaman Special thin crust and thought it was fine, but once again no where near as good as the King of pizza in Ventura county. Overall, for the price we will stick with the King unless it's for an event like this. For a deal, The big chains still have the best bang for your buck. read more
