This place is 10/10 for food, service and lovability. First time here and won't be my last…read more The pizza is sooooo good. I like mine thin crust and it was perfect - crispy and chewy and even some brown yummy hot air bubbles from the oven. Generous toppings and a nice tart tomato sauce - just the way a pizza sauce should be. Customer service - Friendly, fast and so welcoming. The prices are really a great deal for the quality of food you get. Lovability - I am always heartened when I see a family run business that has the entire family involved. Two kids were doing their homework outside at the table and chairs by the entrance. One was inside playing video games, lost in his own world. The moment I stepped into the door, the eldest teenager son went straight from the table outside and hopped right behind the cashier. He was cheery and greeted me so professionally. I made my order and the dad immediately went to the counter and started twirling the dough to make the crust. The mom peeked out from the kitchen and smiled at me and then disappeared to get the toppings ready. They were a well-tuned team! As someone who also grew up in a family restaurant, I can't emphasize enough how much it means to watch your parents work hard and to have to participate in helping them out. Builds deep appreciation how they have to make a living to take care of the family. Also it builds a solid work ethic and much-needed interpersonal skills in today's world. These folks are doing it right and I can't emphasize enough how important it is to support good family businesses like this one.

I accidentally sat upon my spaghetti container when I placed it on the seat of my car. I politely asked the wife of the restaurant owner for a new container, and this man went ballistic. His anger was so irrational and disproportionate to the situation, i took great personal offense. Left the restaurant without any food, and didn't even get my money back. This man's anger was on full display in front of his family and children. I had a friend with me that witnessed our interaction, and they were shocked as well, by the treatment I received.

The meal also came with dessert, per chef's choice--this time it was a panna cotta that was to die for! Instantly became a fave. Service: Great! Always attended to, and food came in at a reasonable pace. Ambiance: Casual. Monochromatic interior, putting the focal point on the food. Parking: Street parking is available, but can take a minute to find a spot during peak hours.

We got the Caesar salad which I was let down by; flavor was lacking and the croutons were so hard I thought my tooth would break. We also got the brussel sprouts which were amazing; cooked to perfection and the sauce was phenomenal. We got the mafaldine pasta which hardly tasted like a vodka pasta, I compared the flavor to a thin, unseasoned tomato soup. The pasta itself was great but the base was not. We also got the tagliatelle which made up for the disappointing mafaldine. The pasta was the perfect texture, flavor was amazing, and the fishy shrimp took it to the next level. The included dessert was a panna cotta which was good but nothing to write home about. The interior did not feel like an authentic Italian restaurant and was drab/dry. Typical white/gray interior that takes away the authenticity of a restaurant. Lastly, there were several large flies, which I understand may not the restaurants fault but one did land in my wine which they did quickly replace. I would definitely think twice about coming back here and would only order the brussel sprouts and tagliatelle. Staff was nice and friendly.

One thing I noticed immediately was how deceptive the space is from the outside. You walk in thinking you're stepping into a small Italian bistro, and then it just keeps unfolding room after room until you realize you're actually in a large, incredibly lively space. Each room we passed through seemed to gain even more energy. There seemed to be birthday dinners, family gatherings, and just large groups of friends celebrating everywhere, and the whole restaurant had a genuinely festive feel without feeling overly loud or chaotic. Service was fantastic. Our waitress felt less like restaurant service and more like a friend helping the whole table have a good night. Everything flowed really naturally. Timing was great. Drinks stayed full. Plates never piled up, and even little moments that could have felt imperfect somehow just added to the warmth of the experience. We ordered family style for the table and honestly every single thing disappeared. The Burrina pizza and Romana pizza were both excellent. The Caesar salad was fresh and balanced. The lasagna was a hit, and we also ordered a white pasta with fennel sausage that nobody could stop eating. We even had family visiting from Ecuador with us, and everyone cleaned their plates and had a great time. We skipped dessert because we had cake waiting at home, but judging by the number of tiramisus passing by our table, we may have made a tactical error there. The only real challenge is parking. Broadway parking is Broadway parking, and locals already know the situation near the beach can get rough quickly. If you live nearby, I'd honestly recommend Ubering or walking if possible. This immediately went onto my shortlist for large group dinners in Long Beach.

While it was never my personal favorite, I continued going because my wife enjoyed it. Unfortunately, our experience on Sunday, May 3, 2026 definitively closed that chapter. We arrived around 5:45 pm, at a time when the restaurant was clearly not busy. A young gentleman at reception greeted us warmly and was about to seat us, but was abruptly interrupted by a woman who directed us--without explanation--to sit along the wall. We waited there for about 10 minutes, despite a clearly prepared table sitting ready just a few feet away. When we were finally seated, it was at that very table next to the reception desk. Throughout the interaction, the woman showed no courtesy--no smile, no "please," no acknowledgment, and no "thank you for waiting." After years of patronage, this level of indifference was disappointing enough to ensure we won't be returning.
