-The food here was amazing, there were lots of wonderful fresh flavors in the SonnyBoy Pizza And the Fresh Market Sandwich. -It was odd that we were told multiple times that we could only order one round, we weren't planning on doing more anyways. The servers also seemed to rush us a lot (they weren't busy) and asked us about 3 times if we were ready to order within a span of 10 minutes. On the last time they asked us if we were ready to order; I asked for their opinion on the 2 different sandwiches and they replied with the ingredients on the menu (I also work in the food service industry, this is not how you reply to someone asking for recommendations). One last thing is they do not smile, at all, and are not friendly. -As for the atmosphere, it's was okay, nothing special, they can do better for the prices they are charging. They tried very hard to go for the rustic vibe. It honestly just looked a bit dirty. -if you're looking for good food, then you should definitely visit but if you want a full experience, pass on it. Service was quick, probably because they're busy. They stayed on top of refills, and keeping the table cleared. Food was definitely worth the wait! We had the Biancoverde and Wiseguy pizza. The biancoverde was so creamy, garlicky, and peppery... delish! The onions on the wiseguy brought the sweetness balance, and the fennel sausage was really good! Even enjoyed both cold later that night! Oh! And don't forget to grab a bag of cookies! The hint of salt really brought the punch! A 2.5 it what I would like to give, so let's start with that. Now, where to begin? I have dined previously with my father at the 20th street location where we shared a margarita pizza and a meatball sandwich. It was great, four stars. This experience was different. I ordered a "wise guy" pizza. This is with fennel sausage, onions, and mozzarella. I made the mistake of assuming there was marinara / red sauce on this pie but there was not, this is my fault. A sausage pizza with out marinara / red sauce is borderline blasphemous. That aside, The individual ingredients we great. The crust amazing. The cheese amazing. The sausage excellent. The onions great. Again, my fault for not checking sauce. There was no sauce on this creation. $26.00 for about a 12 inch pie, with no sauce. It is essentially a round bread stick with cheese, and a sparse amount of sausage. Our server, never checked back on us. Just order, fire, pickup, drop off and never back to even refill water, ask how the pizza was, ask for more drinks etc. Quality ingredients. But just not worth 26 dollars. The tecate beer was the best value at 5 dollars a can. In the end Im more of a NY style pie, either cheese, margarita, or sausage. Joe's for example. Even though the margarita pizza is great, its not worth the $22 dollar price tag as well. Your milage may vary. read more

I wanted to try this place after seeing the episode on Netflix's Chef's Table: Pizza, so we made it a priority on my trip to Phoenix to visit friends. I will start by saying, the pizza is VERY good. But is it the best ever? I personally don't think so. Don't get me wrong, the ingredients are undeniably fresh and the sauce is absolutely incredible, I'd bathe in it if I could. But the dough was pretty overcooked (and I've had plenty of wood fired, classic Neapolitan pizza from reputable places - doesn't need to get that burnt). Now for the full review. We went on a Saturday for lunch and got there at 10:15am to get in line (it opens at 11am). We were able to get in at about 12pm based on our place in line, and they take your phone number to text you when it's your turn, so feel free to walk around or grab a drink at their bar next door and take a seat at the bench between the buildings! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. Honestly what a gorgeous environment. We sat at the bar and the bartender was incredibly attentive, super knowledgeable and personable, and was always busy. It probably took 15-20 minutes for the food to come out, so just be prepared for that. I got two pizzas, because why not? The Margherita was delightful. Such a beautiful sauce, and the cheese was so fresh. As I said, the dough was pretty burnt so that all kept cracking off on the crust, but it did still taste good. I wanted to try the Roma as well because I heard such great things about it. I was a bit skeptical, but wow this pizza was fantastic. The pistachios were almost meaty, so I can understand now why such an unusual pizza topping works. The red onions were so flavorful and mild, and paired beautifully with the pistachios. My friend got the Biancoverde and that was such a great bite. The arugula was (word of the day) so fresh, and wow the mozz was amazing. Overall, I'm very happy we went here and tried this pizza. It makes for decent leftovers too, but the crust becomes a rock so don't plan on eating that the next day. I'm not sure I'll go back, I'll continue going to the Neapolitan pizza place where I live and not feel like I'm missing out. But I do recommend trying this place, it's an experience for sure. read more

The environment is so great here and the staff is very friendly! The wait times are ridiculous though. We arrived at 11:15 shortly after it opened 11 am and there was already a 2 hour wait. We got seated in about 1 hour in 45 mins and sat at the bar. While we were eating the wait time went to 4.5 hours. The pizza was delicious but not worth that wait nor the price. A margarita pizza is 24 dollars alone. I would recommend getting the fennel sausage added to a pizza. The sausage I believe is homemade locally. Overall the pizza was very good but not the absbest pizza I have had and I wouldn't wait that long for it. But it is such a friendly and historic location that if you are in the area and the wait time isn't long I would give it a try. read more

Love this place except was very disappointed after waiting an hour & 40 minutes for a pizza that was burnt. It had a burnt top & bottom which gave all 4 pizzas a burnt taste. I bragged about this place & brought my friends from Alaska here. The service is always awesome but you need your pizza makers to not over cook the pizza. The prices have gone way up. $22 for a margherita pizza. Everyone else got their pizzas out fast. Some tables had gotten three four pizzas out while we waited forever for two plain pizzas. When we asked for the second one to go it happened to come out miraculously fast... weird. So much sauce that was sour and a real lack of cheese. We used to love this place. So disappointed. This place came recommended but for the life of my, I can't figure out why. The pizza itself was a 6/10 and was on the bland side personally but my partner didn't mind it at all. The reason I would not recommend this place is the service. I felt very rushed the entire time and the same person didn't come to the table more than once. So we were told by the first and only considerate employee the pizza is personal size but 11'' so we made the decision to split one. A second woman came to take our order and was rude telling us they'll only take an order once. So we ordered the one pizza and it was alright. I personally would have taken dominos over it. Then a third person came by when the plate was just finished and they actually took it and my girlfriend's napkin away with the pizza while she was still eating with food on her plate. They then came asking about dessert which would have been nice to try but we just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. We ate here today 09/09/22 and my wife and I ordered 2 different pizza's (Sonny Boy & Wise Guy). The first thing that I would say about this place is..... 1) Delicious Pizza 2) Awesome Staff Personally, I think this is thee BEST place to eat pizza. They have only 6 pizza's to choose from, they're made in an actual brick oven and the 2 that we ordered are off the charts. The crust is flakey and airy and delicious, the salami on the Sonny Boy, is waaaaaaaaay better than Pepperoni, the cheese is soooooooo gooey. They have a small dining area, we waited about 15-20min before they took us in. A lot of people was waiting to go in. So if you're near by, definitely check this place out, we live out in Glendale and it was definitely worth the drive. I love a wood fired pizza. Bianco did not disappoint. It was worth the almost 2 hour wait. We were quoted 210 wait time but that was cut short due to a thunderstorm that came through. We were able to wait in the Bianco Bar next door that had games and protection from the elements. We enjoyed the Caprese Salad, And fontina and prosciutto appetizers. My daughter had the margarita pizza and I had the Wiseguy. Flourless chocolate cake for dessert. It was a great dining experience. Actually 4.5/5 because it's like $19 for a medium to small size pizza. Food all taste very good. And the good thing is, they can do half half pizza. We ordered wood roasted vegetables and wise guy + sunny boy half half. My favorite is the cauliflower in the roasted vegetables. They are very well flavored and cooked to a point they are soft but with textures. The pizza is good. I don't like the free bread (and the olive oil) at all. Def a good place to go for a lunch if you are in the center of Phoenix. I would say the price is a bit high though but still worth it. read more

First meal in PHX! We got here around 4:00 pm on Friday evening, and were told it was going to be a two hour wait. There was a friendly woman we chatted with who said she was told it would be a 1.5 hour wait, but then her husband came over, and the host recognized him, and we watched them get seated immediately. So basically that guy was a real jerk and it put the worst taste in our mouths. Still, we persisted, and went to the wine bar next door to have a drink and play board games with our daughter while we waited. We ended up getting called in after an hour and we have a sneaking suspicion that they deliberately lie about the wait times in an effort to force people over to the wine bar. In whichever case, both venues were freezing cold, and it was especially joyous being sat directly next to the front door in the actual pizza restaurant. But we were happy to be seated and eating and lo and behold Jeff Ross was at a table just diagonal to us! That put us in better spirits. We started with the farmers market salad, which is just your typical "Italian sub" salad, nothing special. The antipasto was nice with the oven-roasted veggies, but there was almost no seasoning on it and the meat and cheese on the plate was minimal and unimpressive. So not off to a great start food-wise. The pizza, however, is pretty wonderful. We got the Margherita and Biancoverde--both were flavorful and delicious, but honestly, we didn't find them to be different or more impressive than any upscale high-end Neapolitan pizza places we've been to in other big cities. Had we actually had to wait two hours, we would have been pissed. Dessert is why we're ultimately landing on three stars instead of four. We ordered chocolate chip cookies and a flourless chocolate cake. The chocolate cookies came out in a bag! Like, they're just repurposed cookies from some other place. SO lame! And the run-of-the-mill cake was swimming in a sauce that lacked any depth. Just why? It's embarrassing for this place! Business has probably become so brisk since the Netflix show that they are just phoning it in it seems. Well, at least we got to take some pictures with Jeff Ross, who is a good dude that laughed dutifully at the ridiculous joke our daughter insisted on telling him. Every bite of the pizza is so delicious. EVEN THE CRUST! The dough is super airy and light. My favorite is the sonny but also found the wise guy and biancoverde to be tasty as well. I'm more of a red sauce kinda person. They conveniently have valet which was about $5 not including tip. There's a bar next door where you can grab drinks while you wait for your table and play board games. (The wait was only 20 mins on a Friday night) The service at the restaurant was great. Tried this place because I love pizza and when I researched the best pizza in Phoenix this place popped up. When we got there valet got to us quickly. Unfortunately we had an hour wait. We were able to wait nearby. The restaurant itself was small but they had several seats outside and there were plenty of heated lamps near outside tables to keep you warm. We were seated inside near the back kind of close to the bathroom. I thought that would bother me but it wasn't a lot of people going in there. The waiter was nice and really helpful with the menu.
