I've heard people call this a hole in the wall... that would be a kind term for what's hardly a functioning establishment. All who work there have a serious attitude issue - no one was helpful, or smiled, and the few things we asked them for they made look like was a massive inconvenience for them. See the horrifying unsanitary photo of the bathroom to get a clear picture for how the place is kept up. As for the pizza - we got carbonara and shrimp scampi, each a ~$23 pizza. Both were primarily dough, which had great taste, chew and char -- but the toppings were almost non existent. No idea what we were even paying for. Carbonara had 5 little specs of guanciale total, the pizza just looked like plain cheese with a bad messy egg with the yolk broken when we got it. Shrimp scampi is just confusing - it's an oily pesto base with nothing else but 5 shrimp pieces. Bizarre there was no cheese or anything else but pesto and dough. We were also charged $7 for a bottle of water. Tomato sauce we asked for to dip the crust in was watery and tasteless, and the kid tried to give me a cold container of sauce out of the fridge instead of heating it up and bringing to our table. This place needs A LOT of work. There is a shred of hope seeing the cute branding and knowing this is under the Ventuno umbrella because Ventuno is fantastic. We kept seeing everyone carrying around Gemelle pizza boxes so we decided to check it out. Upon arriving we asked which pizza is the fan favorite and were told the Margherita so this is what we went with. It came out within 5-8 minutes and was piping hot. The pizza was more of a thin crust but plenty of cheese/toppings. Overall I would give this pizza a 6/10, the crust was a bit burnt and I didn't think it had an overwhelming amount of flavor. It did have true Italy inspiration but I thought the crust was just a tad too thin. I've had some amazing Margherita pizzas and unfortunately this was not one. it's hard to find pizza on the island of Nantucket and one night last week I called pi pizzeria, and the wait was three hours even just to pick up. so we ordered from this little place and the wait was reasonable. I have two main complaints about my experience. First of all the phone number that is listed everywhere as being the phone number of this restaurant did not work. When I walked to the restaurant and showed up in person, they simply said "we're too busy to be able to pick up the phone. ". so it would've been nice if there was something on the website saying do not call, please come in person. The second thing is that I ordered a couple of pepperoni pizzas and honestly each pizza had like five or six pepperonis on it. and honestly, it's Nantucket and everything's expensive and I know that, but for an expensive pizza you could give me more than five pepperonis please. The pizza itself was very good so I guess I read it highly for the food but poorly for the phone service or lack of and poorly for skimping on the pepperoni for an expensive pizza read more

It's not your typical American pizza. You know, the type where you order 10 pizzas because your little league team just won the annual championship. That's NOT this type of pizza. Instead, it's more of an upscale artisan type of pizza. Some may even say this is exactly what you get when you order pizza in Italy. I liked it, and I'm a pizza snob. I was pleasantly surprised. However I didn't like the size. Like others have said, it's more of a personal sized pizza. So if you have several people in your party, you'd probably want to order one pizza per person. Sure it's pricey, but this is Nantucket. It's still better than that Oath Pizza garbage down by the docks, where they make it in front of you, à la Subway franchise style. I loved the seasoning, the crust, and the toppings. I ordered the "Salsiccia" sausage pizza from their menu. It didn't contain any tomato sauce because it's considered a "white" pizza; containing olive oil and cheese. The sausage was very good. Being a pizza snob and usually ordering a sausage pie as my de facto "taste test", it sort of has made me a sausage snob over the years. They claim their sausage is house-made and that's entirely believable. It was very good mouth watering type sausage, the type that's common around the New Haven region of Connecticut. Yup, just like the other Yelper said, it was charred (not burnt). That's actually a good thing. The more charred it is, the better it is... in my opinion. Take-out only... Let's start with the positives- the crust is fresh & tastes amazing. We ordered from the app & delivery was very quick. But the pies are tiny! We ordered a cheese pizza for $17 because it was one of the cheapest pies, but it was so tiny we laughed when it arrived. On the mainland they would call this a "personal size" pizza. I get that it's Nantucket and overhead is sky high, but this was over the top. I gave them an extra star for foraging ahead during COVID. Best of luck to them! read more

So disappointed in Pizzeria Gemelle. We ordered our pizza at 7:30pm thinking that was plenty of time before they closed at 8:30. Maybe we should have expected poor service since it was a rainy Saturday night, but we decided to give it a shot anyways. My boyfriend went to pick up our pizzas and salads after waiting an hour and they were still 20 minutes behind. Finally he came home with our food and when we opened the boxes, my pizza was entirely burnt. The crust and truffles were black and charred with a *raw* egg on top. My boyfriend asked for his pizza well done, so I think they got the two orders mixed up ...but even well done doesn't mean burnt to a crisp. I wish we had called and asked for a refund but by the time he got home, the pizzeria was closed and it's not like they could make us new food at that point.
