She was friendly, attentive, and gave some excellent recommendations, including the meatballs and homemade mozzarella sticks for appetizers. We decided to go with the meatballs, and they were absolutely amazing. Three large meatballs swimming in marinara sauce that was pure heaven. Rich flavor, perfectly cooked, and easily the highlight of the meal. For our main course, we kept it simple and ordered a pepperoni pizza. Sometimes the classics tell you everything you need to know about a place, and this pizza delivered. The crust was perfectly crisp, the toppings were balanced, and everything tasted fresh and well-made. If you're anywhere near DTLA, you can't go wrong with this spot. SO GOOD! My husband and I spent the night in LA for our anniversary, and because I'm a pizza lover and a bit of foodie, decided to come here after seeing the reviews. We ordered drinks, which were delicious, and the Benno pizza which was amazing! So much so, that my husband and I fought over the leftovers, lol. Service was great! Our server, Brittany, was very sweet and attentive at just the right times. When she found out it was our anniversary, she offered a complimentary dessert. Omg this bread pudding dessert was absolutely delicious!! So light and refreshing. Even though we were both full, we devoured it! Thank you, Brittany!! Ambiance was great too! This is such a cute little place that is built to fit between streets that eventually intersect. We had reservations but didn't end up needing them when we went at 7pm on a Saturday. Every dish is fantastic. No matter what you get it's gonna come out wonderful. Pasta dishes are large and easily sharable. Pizza is great for one but if you wanna be generous easily shared. Arugula salad is amazing. Such a great starter. Don't get me started on the calamari. Great date night spot or place to go and catch up with friends. Lovely staff and very attentive owner. The restaurant is surprisingly spacious after seeing a small store front, with a well stocked bar. I ordered the Margherita pizza,, packed with fresh ingredients and fantastic flavors! Ordered the calamari fritti, rigatoni bolognese, and margherita pizza. The calamari fritti was great - The squid was tender while covered in light coating. It was flavorful on its own with and without the sauces. Margherita pizza had a really tasty crust that's thin and crispy. Pizza was better than I expected. This is a cute little place that offers good food and friendly service. It looks nice and clean and they have a cute patio area. We had the Margherita and BBQ Ckn pizzas as well as the Cajun Alfredo. The pizza dough was perfect, crispy outside soft inside not hard or chewy at all. The sauce and cheese were both tasty. The shrimp in the pasta had nice texture and flavor, not overcooked. Had a good pizza from Pizzeria Repubblica in DTLA! I ordered the Spicy BBQ Chicken Pizza and the Benno Pizza, both were flavorful and fresh. The BBQ chicken had the perfect balance of smoky and sweet heat, and the crust was crispy without being too heavy. The Benno was rich and satisfying, great for cheese lovers. And of course pineapple. but the chili , it's overwhelming but overall definitely worth it. I'll try to dine in next time to try more of the menu! read more

OMG. I don't know where to start. First of all, if you are lucky enough to have Margot Robbie be your server/bartender then you won the lottery! I must have seen an ad for this place on FB or IG and invited my friends who are foodies. If I'm honest even though I did a ton of research on whether this place was really good, I was a but nervous whether this place would hold up to their standards. Well, it did not disappoint and quite the opposite. I have to say my husband and I make our own pizza and we have decided that we will never go anywhere else for pizza- EVER!!! The crust is perfect- thin crust but crispy on the outside and soft on the inside but the toppings are perfection! we ordered the Margherita and Meat Lovers pizza and they were the absolute best we've had. They use the highest quality ingredients that really deliver on flavors! If their pizza is this good we can't wait to try out the pasta next time. If you love ( or just like) yourself, treat yourself to a pizza here. The drinks are the bonus! Our delightful server makes the best drinks and if you are a tropical fruit nut like me - they have passionfruit and guava margaritas so i got one of each! And luckily my husband was the designated driver because she was not shy on the liquor pour. And my husband ordered a lemonade which is his DD go to never expecting a custom homemade lemonade fresh squeezed mixed with simple syrup on the spot. She asked how sweet or tart he liked it and made it to perfection. This place is like the unassuming neighborhood pizzeria that gets off on making their customers happy ( and delightfully full). We were there during game 7 of the world series and for for some reason the TV couldn't play the game so "Margot" helped us figure out how we could mirror the game as we streamed it on our phone! I really wanted to love this pizza. It's my first time ordering, just looking for a new place to try. The dough definitely tasted homemade, but a little burnt on the bottom. The pepperoni, cheese, and sauce had no flavor. It was missing some spices that a pepperoni pizza should have. It was if it was left out and waiting on someone to order. My stomach was a little upset after eating it, not a good sign. So, I probably won't order from here again, nor recommend it to anyone. Maybe it was a bad day/night. We dined here on New Year's Eve as a group of four while in town for the Rose Bowl. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, so we were surprised by how the experience unfolded. The food was outstanding--easily a 10/10. Every dish was excellent and clearly prepared with care. Compliments to the kitchen. Unfortunately, the service and atmosphere told a very different story. The server working the bar was extremely rude, unwelcoming, and dismissive from the moment we sat down. There was no sense of hospitality, which was especially disappointing given the occasion and the fact that the restaurant was not busy. I own several businesses myself, and I can say confidently that if an employee treated guests the way we were treated, it would be unacceptable. Great food can only carry an experience so far--service matters, and in this case, it overshadowed what could have been a memorable night. I hope ownership takes this feedback seriously, because the food alone deserves a much better front-of-house experience. read more

Perfectly golden brown and crispy on the outside, with that ideal tender chew inside. The spicy, well-seasoned marinara sauce that came with it took things to another level. So flavorful. I also tried the passionfruit margarita, which was refreshing and had just the right balance of sweet and tart. A solid drink to pair with the meal. The ambiance here is a total vibe--R&B classics playing softly in the background, warm ambient lighting, and a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere. It's the kind of place that works just as well for a casual date as it does for a chill night out with friends. Prices are reasonable too, especially for the area. 5/5 I've been coming to Republic since my very first visit -- and I absolutely fell in love with this place. I'm honestly very spoiled when it comes to food, especially salads like burrata and caprese. I'm super picky about them -- and this is hands down the best one I've had in all of Los Angeles. The tomatoes are peeled (which already says a lot about the quality!), seasoned perfectly, the pesto sauce is incredible, and the balsamic is just right. Even the croutons are delicious -- crispy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. My kids absolutely love the pizza here -- it's always fresh, hot, and so tasty. I also tried the shrimp salad, and it was amazing. Everything about this place feels thoughtful -- the food, the service, and the cozy, relaxed atmosphere. You can tell the people who work here truly care about what they do.If you're looking for a spot with excellent food, great energy, and genuine heart, Republic is it. This is the place you go to when you want a nice thin wood fired pizza with crispy crust and soft, chewy interior. When you want that delicious dough, this is it. But that said, the toppings don't do much. Quite stingy with the toppings and the sauce is pretty sparsely spread. So not much to taste to begin with.
