Best pasta I ever had. Best for gluten free too. I ordered the gluten free ziti and my god was it great. The texture was perfect and tasted so good. I also order the gluten free pizza which was also very good. What I loved the most was that they give you your own pizza cutter so there is no cross contamination. It's a small independently owned pizza joint nestled into a neighborhood off Logan Circle. Service, prices and cleanliness get five stars, and the pasta is good for the price. First time Ordering from or eating Pizzoli's Pizza BAD: Waited an hour for the pizza (added a note to ask the driver to call so I could meet out front as I live in a multiple unit building; driver was not going to call-good thing I walked out to look for them; driver then told me they don't deliver to my area. . . then why did you let me order delivery??? I had no clue I was out of their delivery area. I tipped extra since apparently I am out of the delivery area) Realizing traffic in DC is a pain this would normally not have lowered the rating. Ordered a pizza with portabella mushrooms, caramelized onions, bacon, and alfredo sauce. It arrived with no alfredo sauce so that means it was a pizza without cheese or sauce since I was attempting to do both in one ingredient. Ordered a salad- some lettuce had brown spots, not a big deal if the pizza is right. Called to report my order was wrong. . . Guy that answered the phone was beyond rude. He told me that he made the pizza himself and that there was alfredo sauce on it. I asked what their alfredo sauce was (some places have different versions) and he responded alfredo sauce and then hung up. Really??? Where is the customer service?? Annoyed that I basically had bread with ingredients on it which does not make a pizza, so I decided to drive down (which took me a very long time in traffic) GOOD: Lady at the counter was really nice. Asked her if it looked like there was alfredo sauce on the pizza and she said no. She then proceeded to order me another one even making suggestions to make it better. Thank you for being helpful and fixing a mistake. Driver actually came to the front and thanked me for the few extra bucks. Thank you for realizing it wasn't my fault or yours that the order went through when it was outside the delivery area. Another male employee apologized that the order was wrong. Overall: Horrible phone experience. I shouldn't have had to drive down to fix the issue nor should he have hung up on me. Ended up being about 2.5 hours until I was sitting at home eating the pizza. However, excellent in store customer service which is why this review is a 3 instead of a 1. PIZZA The pizza was good -- not the best I've ever had but definitely not the worst. 6 or 7 on a scale of 1 to 10, but remember I waited 2.5 hours to eat and it was 930 on a weekday night by the time I got to eat. The caramelized onions were really good, as was the alfredo sauce and mushrooms. I prefer my bacon cooked more, but this may have been a side effect of an attempt to fill my order quickly. My husband and I just finished our first Pizzolis experience. We kept it simple and just ordered a hand-tossed pepperoni pizza. It was excellent! The sauce and pepperoni were delicious and the amount of cheese (fresh mozzarella) was perfect. The best part was the crust. It was soft and flavorful, containing italian seasonings, parmesan and garlic (our best guess of what we were tasting). My husband even went so far as to say it was the best delivery/take-out pizza he's had in DC. We will definitely order from Pizzolis again. read more

These guys are good enough that they are on my iPhone faves list, right under my best friend. I like that their pizza sauce is not your average red sauce - it's got a little bite to it, some spice, and very hearty. The pepperoni pizza never disappoints and I think the mozzarella sticks are 10/10. This is the BEST vegan pizza I've ever eaten! I recently went there with my friend and her children and we ordered a pizza with olive and artichoke and another with mushroom and eggplant. The best thing about the pizza was the flavor! The eggplant was actually seasoned which is definitely not usually the case. The crust was delicious and the ingredients were very fresh. Review of Pizzolis on 12th st, nw dc. I have only ordered from this place twice and never again. The first time I ordered a small cheese pizza and a coke zero, simple enough. I live only about five blocks from them on the same street. I waited an hour and 45 minutes for my pizza. I am a patient person but that was really pushing it. I swore to never order from here again. However, when the delivery person came, he was nice and gave me some excuse that something was wrong with one of the ovens. He assured me that he was their only driver and that next time he will make sure my pizza comes fast and he will throw in some free stuff. I said ok to giving them a second chance (i mean really, who says no to free food lol). I ordered again today, the same as last time, a small cheese pizza and a coke zero. They did a good job on coming on time. However, one, it was a different delivery guy (ay there goes my free food) and two, they brought me regular coke instead of coke zero. Lastly, the guy didn't even have enough change for my $20! Wtf, how are you a delivery guy with not enough change. Anyway, he got to walk a way with $2, which I wouldn't mind giving as tip if it wasn't by force and my order wasn't screwed up, but it was. I also told him I did not want the regular coke and told him to take it off the bill and he said he wasn't able to do that. After discussing with him for five minutes that it wasn't what I ordered, he reduced the charge and took the coke back. Their pizza is decent but def not worth the hassle of wrong food delivered to you. They need to stop smoking so much green and make a correct and timely order for once. Was hoping to like this place, unfortunately I found their customer service to be underwhelming and wasn't able to enjoy food.

We ordered delivery from Pizzolis and while the delivery was prompt, our order was incomplete and the food that we did get is not even good. We ordered a salad, but it wasn't included in our order. The supposed "boneless" wings we ordered are actually chicken tenders that they cut in half. The chicken is also drier than dry, so dry that the sauce doesn't even help. In addition, we ordered waffle fries and spicy fries that aren't even crispy, or spicy in the case of the spicy fries. Our total order was a little over $50 bucks, you'd think we'd at least get decent food for that price. Overall, I'm not satisfied and will not order from here again. read more

3 stars because the pizza was okay. Nothing new. Just okay I guess. Now, the gyro platter is absolutely horrible! I had it a few weeks ago and had a bad experience. I was late to pick it up and I thought maybe that's why my lamb meat was so hard and cold. Today, I decided to give it another try. Hence I'm a big gyro eater. Really good pizza. Very small place. There's just one tiny table inside, but we were lucky enough to go there by chance on an unseasonably warm December day and we were able to sit comfortably on the patio outside. My seven year old thought it was "the best pizza ever". I'm not sure I'd go that far, but it was definitely way above average. read more

I live in Brookland and my normal pizza place was closed. So I searched the interwebs for a replacement joint to fill my cravings. Pizzoli's had some good reviews, but Logan Circle seemed a little distant from my apartment. A little skeptical, I go on the website to order and to my surprise and shock the website says their delivery zone stretches all the way to Hyattsville, MD. Alright, cool. Less than thirty minutes later a delivery guy is at my door, but he tells me they won't deliver to me again because Pizzoli's is in NW and I'm too far away (about 3 miles). Too bad. moved to the neighborhood recently, and closest pizza joint. went there several times, as the owner was nice and would always rave about how the ingredients were fresh and the pizza was the best we would find. quickly realized it was just not very good. went in tonight for a jumbo cheese slice of pizza. cashier was hitting on a drunk girl as i walked in, and took probably ~15 seconds to acknowledge me. put the order in, and he went back to hitting on her (i was the only other person inside). she walked out once she got her pizza, and he commented to me on how he "had no chance" with her. flash forward to the ~7 minutes to me getting my pizza. walk back to my house, open it, and see half the crust is ripped off (picture uploaded). i call them, and am immediately put on hold (understandable, late night). when he picks up, i tell him that half my crust is ripped off and he asks if i want to order another slice. i tell him again, and after a failure to communicate i hang up in defeat and give up. they call back, and he asks me if i had a problem with the slice (I'm a little impressed with that). i tell him i am coming over, and walk back to the pizzolis. they already have another slice ready for me, and he half asses apologized for the mistake and seemed annoyed that i came back and was taking up his time. they blame it on the pizza getting caught in the oven, but you be the judge (picture uploaded). as soon as i had my hand on the box he went back to talking to his friends in the store. i threw out their replacement slice (for fear of "waiting" type things on the slice) and ordered papa johns. read more
