Good Ole Sweet PJ Your neighborhood bar. PJ himself will sling the drinks- nothing more than your good ole southern sports bar outfitted with locals, a beautiful mix of personalities, cheap local beers on tap and a RAGING Friday night of karaoke!

THURSDAY STEAK NIGHT 5:30PM - 10PM TWO 16 OZ T-BONE STEAK WITH SALAD AND BAKED POTATO AND A PITCHER OF BEER FOR $31! Me and a friend wanted to get a steak deal on a Thursday night and this one of the top places that popped up. We didn't realize the time and came around 10:17 and the bartender told us that it was over but he was so sweet and was able to get the griller to make us our meal last minute. We originally came here just to eat dinner so we were glad we got to try it and didn't go somewhere else. The SALAD was basic. It was just spinach, with a couple tomatoes and croutons. The salad dressing was in the beer carrier and I believe it was Italian dressing. The BAKED POTATO came undressed. We were given a container that had everything we needed. Butter, sour cream, bacon bits, and cheddar cheese. That was dangerous cause I definitely abused it. My potato was fully loaded. I should not have been allowed to add as much butter and sour cream as I wanted haha. The steak deals I've had has been ribeye but this is the first steak night deal where I've had T-BONE steak. You could tell it was made on the grill because there was a nice char flavor. It was a perfect medium and the flavor was good. There was A1 sauce if you needed it. I actually put it on my potato and not my steak. For the pitcher of beer, the bartender asked if we wanted LONE STAR or ZIEGENBOCK and we went to with Ziegenbock. We got two red solo cups to share it. The weather was great so we sat outside. There was a tv to watch the game but it was a little small. This was literally a house they made into a bar. It's very homey and just relaxed. Not fussy. The RESTROOM is upstairs on the right. The service was great and I had a great experience so I can see myself coming back.

Everything was delicious and moderately priced. We had two adult meals a child's plate and dessert for $43.00. My husband had the Philly Steak, I had the Tomato Basil soup with the tomato and mozzarella salad with balsamic vinaigrette. We finished with the Pizookie, a must try for those cookies connoisseurs and ice cream lovers! I hope you enjoy the photos!

PJ himself :D great service, nice meeting you

Went for the first time last night for steak night. The service was excellent and the steak was awesome. I asked my waiter his name and it was the owner, PJ himself :D .....very personable. We saw him give a pup a treat and he had me right there. Serves peeps and pups with great service. Two steaks/potatoes/salads and a pitcher of beer for $33 bucks....I'm hooked.

16 Oz steak & bake potato

Came in with a friend to try their steak night on Thursdays. 2 - 16 Oz steaks with 2 potatoes, 2 salads & a pitcher of beer for 31 bucks! Setting: The place looks like a 2 story house on the outside. The inside has a bar with game machines & 2 or 3 TVs. Upstairs is another bar area, karaoke stage, & restrooms. Food: The steak I had was cooked perfectly how I liked, medium rare! It was a pretty juicy steak with some fat in it! It wasn't seasoned, but they gave us salt & pepper to season it ourselves. I wish more steak places let us season our steak because I had issues with too salty steaks at different places. The salad was ok & u can't go wrong with a bake potato with your choice of fixings! Overall: You would never think this is a steak place the way it looks on the outside, but it was one of the best steaks I had in a while! I would definitely like to come back again!

Filthy. Limited selection and rude service. Plenty of better dives around. You can do better.

As a Wisconsinite, I had to put the cheese curds to the best. For non-Wisconsin curds, they were solid. The ranch was amazing too. I also tried the three cheese cavatappi pasta bake. It was so cheesy and gooey. I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for non-traditional bar food. My friend had the chicken tenders and said they were good. We came to watch the Utah Mammoth @ Nashville Predators game. While the staff tried their best to get it onto the TV for us, it unfortunately didn't work. However, the staff were so accommodating with letting us stick around to watch it on our ESPN app.

Don't know why there wasn't one tv showing any baseball game, including the Astros game on at the same time.) The bar is fine; the seats not the most comfortable; the food is overpriced bland Sysco, with the atmosphere too loud for the friendly waitstaff to hear you. I had a salmon Caesar, which was fine, but $31 plus a hidden 4% service charge for not a lot of lettuce, dressing, and four croutons. An app (chips and bland dip, skimped on the chips) and two entrees, a 16 oz beer and two mixed drinks was $145 with tax and tip. Agonizing to pay that much for a mid experience, especially with the other costs in time and money. Guaranteeing seats for the game without showing up ages in advance cost $40/seat and we didn't get the advertised VIP World Cup goody-bag package we were promised. Worst part of the night was getting out. 45 minutes stuck in the $10 Greenstreet parking garage because the scanners weren't working, but it's that or $40 of Ubers. So ~$250 for a less-than-mid evening that wasn't especially relaxing.

The first time that I went there, I went by myself and had a seat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and greeted me when I say down. I ordered some beers and a hot dog with chili. Both the beers and hot dog were great after the three hour bus ride I just took. The third time that I went there, I went with my friend and we had a seat at the bar. This was our last night in Houston and we decided to have a few drinks before our trip ended. I got a beer in their special St. Patrick's Day glass. The bartender was again attentive and it was a good night. Looking back, I guess both my first and last stops in Houston were here. The second time that I came here was also with my friend and we sat at a table to order food. The waitress was great and kept checking on us. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was crispy and tasty. This is the only part that I had an issue with from the restaurant. At some point during my second visit, a woman came into the restaurant with her pants covered in poop. She left and then came back another time and walked among the tables. The bartender eventually escorted her out. Here is why I am still giving this place 4 stars after this. The service and food was still good even and I had two uneventful visits. This visit, I just happened to sit at a table closest to the door. If you want to make sure you don't have an experience like this, you can sit at the bar, or upstairs or further away from the front door. I recommend this place for a great selection of beer, great staff and great food.

The name is simply "Houston" spelled backwards. The decor is quirky, eclectic and goes hard on the taxidermy. There are all kinds of animals from land-based to sea creations in all kinds of positions, along with very unique art and ambiance to explore. The multi-room layout makes the place a fun spot to explore and check out the different levels. The darkly lit ambiance makes it a bit hard for photographs, but it is no less a dizzying and fascinating space. My favorite part of the entire place is on third floor, where there is a sound dome that doubles as a visualizer, a communal space, and a trippy acoustics wonderland where music can be played via bluetooth and tourists and locals would enjoy it. The sound system is excellent and a perfect place to chill out. There's more than just sensory overload, the drinks also deserve a bit of mention. The jalapeño palomas and hibiscus mules are fun, despite feeling a tinge overpriced. Bartenders are nice people, and service as a whole is a thumbs up. The parking situation will be challenging, since this is Downtown proper. Street parking is available just down the block, and if one can avoid the crowded weekends, the weeknights are an ideal time to visit. It's hard not to be impressed with the distinctiveness of the place, which is truly one of the city's great local favorites.
