We went for Mothers Day! What a disappointment!!! My salmon was tasty, the potatoes were cold, broccoli was so tuff my knife would not cut. Linguine and clams were in a red sauce, the clams were empty shells!!! Very disappointed . What restaurant runs out of hamburgers?! We will not go there again. They also charge a service fee. Sacramento-Headed out to Rombauer winery for some tastings and wanted to fill up before we got there. This place, reminds me of an old country club restaurant with warm cozy features and a welcoming staff. They have a great array of things to choose from on their menu, so it was very difficult for us to make a decision. First things first, we ordered a bottle of wine along with an appetizer of summer melon with prosciutto. Absolutely delicious! Our entrées included an albacore-tuna sandwich, shrimp Louis salad, and a chicken sandwich. all three of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambience. From first greeting by hostess all through service it was really top notch. Daughter had steak and said it was great, pizza and gnocchi and salmon also tasted great looked good and large portions. Met a friend during the holidays for lunch to catch up - I made reservations online as I knew how busy they get at lunch - they open at 11 and our reservation was for 1115 - when we arrived we were promptly sat in a booth ... I am so glad we gave them another shot!! Our last visit was a huge disappointment, but tonight totally turned my opinion around! We were early for our reservation, so we had drinks at the bar - I had the Yuzu Lemongrass Collins and my husband had the Peachy Keen. My drink was absolutely beautiful and delicious! His was really tasty too. We sat outside on the patio and it was a perfect night for that! We started with the arancini - SO good!! I had the Campanella and my husband had the Jerk Chicken Pappardelle. Both were amazing! My Campanella was perfection! The flavors were well balanced and it was cooked perfectly. The quality of the food was unfortunately not as good as I was expecting. I'm a repeat customer, which is why I chose to bring my family for Mother's Day, but the experience was disappointing overall. The New York steak was very chewy, the asparagus was fibery, my kids mentioned that their pasta was cold, and the pizza oddly tasted like "peach." On top of that, the service was inferior. No one came by to ask how our food was, and our bottle of wine was simply left sitting on the table while our glasses remained half full. I did address our concerns with the waiter, especially regarding the quality of the steak, and he said he would let the chef know. However, despite the manager walking around the restaurant, no one even bothered to come to our table to check on the situation. Restaurants should not focus solely on volume, especially during occasions like Mother's Day when people bring their loved ones to celebrate. Maintaining quality and preserving the restaurant's signature standards should remain the priority. Honestly, I regret bringing my family there for Mother's Day given the experience we had. I thoroughly enjoyed my green salad as well as the creme brûlée I tried at Zinfandel Grille. I believe our servers name was Ivan. We saw that on the receipt. He provided prompt and amazing service. He was attentive and there was never a moment where we didn't have water or weren't checked on. The vodka or gin option martini, I choose Vodka - ya can't go wrong w extra olives. Pepperoni pizza tasty, nice simple and very cheesy. And the brussel sprouts. The sauce on top was not what I expected. Not pleasing to the eye. Was not so tasty to me (meh), but my friend enjoyed the taste. But the way the brussel sprouts were seasoned and cooked made up for the sauce. Yum yum yummy. The waitress was very attentive and friendly and the other servers as well. The service overall was excellent. We ordered a variety of dishes to try. As many reviews mentioned, the calamari was delicious, nice and crispy and I can confirm that it lived up to the hype. One dish we tried was the fettuccine, which came in a red meat sauce. I don't remember if the menu described it that way, but I was expecting a white sauce, so it was a surprise. The noodles were green. I'm guessing they make their own pasta, and it was tasty overall. I ordered the pork chop, which was flavorful and cooked well. However, I didn't care for the sides that came with it. I would have preferred something more classic, like mashed potatoes or broccoli. Their pizza was a standout. I had the asparagus pizza and really enjoyed it. I'm not sure if it was baked in a stone oven, but the crust and flavor were excellent. The steak dish was just okay, not bad, but not my favorite of the night. Overall, I'd definitely go back and try more of their pasta dishes. Honestly the only issue I have with the place is $5 for a soda and $7 for an N/A beer...it's just excessive. Gnocchi or Fettuccine for $32 is steep but it's a nice place, so whatevs. $52 for the flat iron steak seemed pricey as well but not ridiculous. Limited menu but offered some specials well after we'd studied the menu and made our decisions. Offered a 3 course fixed price option I went for. Caesar salad was good. Calamari was good but the dipping sauces lacked character and the cocktail sauce in particular needed at least some horseradish. My wife asked for a simple substitution on her chicken parm. Standard came with mashed potatoes (really?) so she asked for pasta. No particular type, just pasta not potatoes. Server said she'd have to check. I've never been to a restaurant like this that couldn't make a simple switch like this on the spot. But she came back and said there would be an "Up charge". My wife said ok. My chicken piccata over angel hair was good but the capers were hidden by the sugar snap peas someone thought belonged in the dish. It lost some of that traditional piccata taste with a few capers fighting with the sweet crunchy snap peas. Rounded out with tiramisu included with my fixed price selection. Now the bill. That up-charge was $10. Then they put in $13 for the included tiramisu. With two glasses of wine the bill topped out at over $200 with tip. I pointed out the mistaken charge for the tiramisu and they took it off. And when they brought it back they had reduced the up charge to $6. More reasonable but still, really? So we probably won't rush back. Not terrible but not worthy of the average four stars here on Yelp. read more

Came here for a birthday and it was amazing! I use to live near this area and never tried this spot until now!? Loved all of our appetizers ( Brussel, brie with honey & slices of bread! ) We also had to try their beer & dessert. The beer was recommended by the staff and it reminded me of how much I enjoyed a cold one! We had to get 2. They were also so quick with coming back to our table when needed. As for the main course I had the brie & honey pizza while my husband had the other one in picture that I cannot remember. The brie and honey were definitely better. Finally, the dessert ( Crème brûlée ) was the best thing I had at this place! So creamy and not too sweet. Just the right balance! I have tried a mix of dishes like the short ribs, different pastas, steak, crab cakes, clam chowder, and more. The menu has definitely evolved over time, but one thing that has stayed the same is the quality. Everything I have had has been well prepared and enjoyable. The desserts stand out too. The bananas foster was especially memorable and a great way to finish the meal. The ambiance is a big part of what makes this place work. It has that classy, slightly upscale feel without being too formal. It fits the Fair Oaks area really well and makes for a nice date night or dinner out. We made reservations for a Friday night at 5:45 and were seated right away with no wait. I really enjoy the ambiance at this restaurant and would love to come back and try their happy hour at the bar. We had some bread to start which there is a cost for now (I don't think that's completely uncommon now though) - it came with a balsamic glaze dipping sauce which was a little to strong for me so I requested butter which hit the mark. We had the tuna poke appetizer which came with homemade wasabi potato chips. The chips were really good and seasoned nicely. The poke could have used a bit more flavor, but still fresh and delicious. My main dish was the Little Neck Clams linguine dish and it was chef's kiss! The linguine was house made and was seasoned with Fennel, Slow Cooked Tomato, Calabrian Chili, Roasted Garlic, Lemon, Herbs and breadcrumbs. The topper was the fresh Parmesan cheese on top. I loved this garlicky dish so much! The clams were fresh and cooked perfectly. Everything just melded together! I ended up eating the whole dish but man was it worth it. However, it took a long time for food to come out & flavors were mediocre at best. 10/10 - Crispy Calamari: these were lovely & tasty; batter on the calamari was the perfect amount & seasoned nicely; the fried slices of lemon were a nice surprise & fun to eat. 8/10 - Ora King Salmon with green beans added: for the price, it left more to be desired especially for not having a green vegetable to accompany; I added green beans to give it more sustenance even though it was $5 more. Last minute Sunday dinner plans with a friend brought me to this delightful restaurant. I always forget that this is just 10 minutes from my house. I love that it's not all hard surfaces, so it's easy to hear my dining partner and the restaurant doesn't reach unmanageable decibels like so many other restaurants. Great ambience for catching up when you'd like to hear your dining companion! I ordered the $49 Grilled Prime New York Steak for dinner, and it was absolutely delicious. The bone marrow butter and au jus was fruity and earthy all at the same time. It came with creamed spinach and potato puree. Everything was perfect. For dessert, I had the Tiramisu. I won't lie, it was a toss up between that and the Meyer Lemon Thyme Pudding. I might actually return and just order the pudding one night. The tiramisu was light and fluffy with a wonderful chocolate sauce and fresh raspberries. Can't wait to come back. I love so many things on the menu, but since he was paying, I tried to keep my appetite on the light side. I ordered the Baby Greens: Waldorf Farms Green Apples, golden raisins, Laura Chenel Goat Cheese, toasted sunflower seeds, and a balsamic vinaigrette. The salad was extremely delicious and had all the ingredients that I enjoy in a salad. My companion ordered the Prime Rib French Dip: Swiss cheese, caramelized onion, horseradish crema, Au Jus on a French Roll. He too enjoyed his meal.
