100% easy sign-up through the app, super clean and well organized gym but lacks an air bike at this location. Some of the machines are far apart, such as the leg extension and leg curl aren't next to each other and was difficult to find. There is only one leg press machine. Otherwise, the lockers are large/spacious area to change clothes and the staff was very kind and courteous. It was a much better experience than the warzonw at LA Fitness. I also appreciated that they had kg/lbs clearly marked on all the equipment. I didn't have to do math this time. read more

Decent PF location. Hours are dog sh*t. So many times I've gone and there's a sign that they've closed early or special hours this week. If there's a holiday, all the surrounding days hours are messed up or it's just closed. Here at 8:30pm the day BEFORE thanksgiving and apparently it's been closed for a while. It says 24/5 but it's only actually open for 24 hours on Tuesday-Thursday MOST OF THE TIME a lot of the times not. Closed at 8pm OR 9pm weekends is crazy. One of best part of Planet Fitness gyms is that members have confidence in basic consistency between gyms. I have belonged for years and look forward to warming up in the "30 minute workout " area, with a patern and layout that assures a workout for the entire body. Recently this gym, on N Power Road, decimated this area, removed the equipment and replaced it with yet more barbells and weight equipment. The 30 minute equipment was, theoretically, removed and jammed into a small area within other machines. Some of the equipment I have yet to find. I hope that Club management/ownership sees the once popular area is little used, with no one, during my visits, ever using the very large barbell equipment, which sits on hardwood. Hopefully this decimation of an important area of this gym will not spread to the other 100+ planet fitness gyms owned by the same group. read more

Fid provided amazingly great customer service even having to provide me with bad news they it's been WEEKS since the several bulbs aren't still replaced in a stand up bed but at least he had enough integrity to tell me in advance to prevent me being super mad after. I had a fair chance to make a choice. So management needs to handle this and not have people be mad with employees. APPARENTLY just waiting on maintenance to HURRY UP paperwork's been done. How can you beat $20 a month for a gym membership! I've been to this location several times and enjoy my workout each time. There is alway ample parking available, the staff is friendly and the gym is clean. Today I had to update some information on file and Micheal made the experience quick and painless. If you're looking for an inexpensive gym membership with good perks then I would recommend getting the Black card membership. With the black card you can workout at any Planet Fitness location and take advantage of the tanning beds or my personal favorite, the hydro massage. read more

I just wished management would enforce cleaning rules. There are 2 white hair male senior citizens who never clean the machines after using them. I mentioned it to staff on 3 different occasions. They said they would speak to them. If they did then i guess they are ignoring the requests and feel that they are above following rules, as they continue not cleaning up after themselves. So now, I know to clean before and after I use machines. Most members do clean up after themselves. As a retired teacher, I know all too well that " rules not enforced are not worth the paper their written on." Everything else is good. Went Super Bowl Sunday in the afternoon before the game, gym floor hadn't been vacuum in days lent n dust under ever pieces of equipment and the equipment needed to be wrapped done. 3 employees standing behind counter talking and not one of them cleaning. Little rock pebbles on the floor as well as trash...trash behind the hydro longe chairs and beds. The mens locker room toilets needed to be scrubbed...paper trash all around the base of the toilet on the floor...mens locker room shower NASTY... would never take a shower there....whoever owns this gym isn't keeping a eye on it....this is my home gym but will not be back...moving my membership elsewhere. This is a pretty nice place. Very big layout and very clean. I went on a Sunday and it was practically empty. That's always fun! They lost a star because like so many other locations, the stretching area is just too small. Just not a lot of room to spread out at all. There's so many machines in there but sometimes you just need room to lay on a mat and do your thing. Also, there were no free weights in the area as well. Stretching can benefit from use of the small free weights but they were way across the gym in the PF 360 area. Other than that, no other complaints. Great locker room size as well! read more

Good location good set up! Every location I've been to has been set up slightly different which is a little weird to me. I feel they should be consistent especially if you're a black member card holder. Anyhow this location I liked it was comfortable and it was not out in the open where you're running on a treadmill in front of windows. It was easy to find tons of parking. The restrooms are well kept and I was there around 8am and it was not crazy busy. I'll update whenever I go in the evening on how busy they get. Unfortunately, this location hasn't evolved since its opening. There are no adjustable ab benches or adjustable decline benches. There is one fixed heavy decline bench. Have fun moving that around halfway into your routine. There are many women and disabled persons that can't use the existing benches effectively. I've seen members in wheelchairs have a hard time just maneuvering around these benches. It annoys me when most people - except 'lunks' - are struggling to move these benches. It's swell that PF caters to the 0.05%, but how about those 80% of us that want adjustable benches? This isn't an issue at the other Broadway Mesa location; nearly all benches are adjustable there. Many of the weights on the machines and towers are labeled inaccurately. You'll primarily come across this in the 30 minute area. In the 30 minute area the weights are definitely heavier by about 1.5x-2x. The weights in-between towers also appear to have this inaccuracy. There is no half-yoga ball captain's chair, just a standard one. Since the CC is an often used piece of equipment, you'd think there would at least be two. At the Broadway Mesa location there are 3 captain chairs. There is only one rear delt / fly machine. Kind of silly, considering the machine serves two functions. If memory serves, there are two of these machines at the Broadway Mesa location. There is only one leg press with free weights. Sure, members of the gym will often hog this machine in discourteous ways, but there should really be two of these machines. There is no dumbbell rack in the stretching area and no floor mats outside the stretching area. The Broadway Mesa location has a secondary dumb bell rack near the stretching area. There is no side lateral delt machine and no overhead press machine. Both of these machines are available at the Broadway Mesa location. I can't name them all off for you, but there are quite a few duplicates of machines that hardly anyone uses. The water machine is often broke and when it does work, it's often not filtering the water properly. It's just tap water. I have been at this location from the start, and nothing has ever changed except the rotation of horrible music. Of course, I'm use to having to make due with what's available, so I just adapt my workout to these limitations. I've giving this gym 3.2 stars, because in spite of all the issues I've mentioned, I would still qualify it as a good gym for what I'm paying. It's also the only decent gym close to me. If they corrected the bench issue (which is not a problem at the Broadway Mesa location) I'd probably give it a 4-5 star rating. If you're equidistant to these gyms, I would highly recommend the Broadway location over this one, as it is superior in almost every way. read more

Being so new to the area, getting in to a normal gym routine was key. I decided to go with Planet because there are multiple locations, which makes it really accessible. I was initially intimidated joining such a large gym, compared to my home town tiny gym, this place is huge. I was greeted warmly and shown around, my membership is inexpensive and I haven't had a single issue since joining. I will say, there are definite peak hours, but other then that, I enjoy coming here everyday. The staff here are so friendly, and helpful. I really appreciated the time they took to walk me through some of the rows of machines when I started. Locker rooms are clean, and safe. Complimentary WiFi and charging my phone while working out is a bonus too! read more

My experience at this Planet Fitness location amplified my dislike for this company and finally brought me to a point where I got a membership elsewhere at a competitor company. The staff at this location hardly care about the patrons and typically sit behind their desk not engaging anyone on the gym floor. This location doesn't even enforce its own company policies, such as no bags on the gym floor or not wearing some types of clothing. The access to what's offered at PF is never standardized: some locations have dumbbells up to 90 pounds, this one doesn't go that high; some locations have some equipment and not others. Good luck getting them to bring it in to the home gym you work out at! They laugh in your face and tell you they might look into it: you get lip service to ease your concerns with no actual change. The staff hide behind apathy and excuses to justify doing literally nothing. I have noticed it elsewhere at other PF locations. It must be a company policy to be averse to service oriented support. It must be their norm to not try and make the customer satisfied with their interests for fitness and health. What sold my dislike so much and prompted this scathing review was I cancelled my membership in the beginning of July. I remember vividly speaking with a male with a unique name (Something like Vito?) and asking about cancelling (because their website and corporate offices make it unbelievably difficult to navigate my own account - another sell point for leaving). I was informed if I chose to cancel then that my membership would run to the middle of July and then I would not be charged. Wouldn't you know it that an Electronic Transfer of Funds (ETF) happened today keeping my membership current? I spoke to Tommy, the Assistant Manager, who did his best to rectify the situation. Should I even get my refund? It will take 7-10 business days. The ineptitude of this staff knows no bounds. I firmly believe this staff member I spoke to at the beginning of July purposefully made a mistake to cause me this experience. Is this the type of gym you want to attend? I know it's not for me. Planet Fitness has officially lost a member and patron for life, and I've been maintaining a fitness lifestyle for the past 15 years, and will continue for another 50-60. I don't need much: a few weights, a few machines, a place to stretch, and some cardio equipment. I also don't need this level of pitiful service and lack of concern for my needs as a member of community. read more

Planet fitness has very good prices. I pay the black card for $20/month and I understand I should wipe the equipment before and after use, I have always wiped the equipment in other gyms too. What I cannot understand is why the showers never get cleaned up. Every time I want to use one I have to wash it and disinfect it myself. Once I called the front desk about it and the lady just broom the shower. It's disgusting. I can tell they never clean because I have seen old bar soap dripping in the showers before. The 2 stars are for the price and because the equipment is new. Customer service is always welcoming. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for awhile now. I can't say enough great things about Alec and the team. First an foremost, I applaud planet fitness for putting health above wealth in the midst of this pandemic. They were not quick to open back up at any chance they had, they in fact informed their members they wouldn't do so unless they were confident in their ability to provide a safe and sanitary environment. I personally can't take any risks due to my underlying conditions and when I informed them of this they were incredibly accommodating. Since joining back in 2019 , they have always been communicative, reliable, and accommodating. They truly care about their members and it shows. Being new to the area, I just Google mapped the nearest planet fitness being a member. This location did not have the best reviews so I came hesitantly and critical but boy was I surprised! Staff greeted me as I walked in and was incredibly helpful. The air conditioning kicked on as soon as I sat down on the bike machine and was happy with the music and atmosphere. I find solace in going to the gym and during a transition period for me I appreciate being able to come to a gym where I feel safe and comfortable. Samantha behind the counter was particularly great with a positive attitude and was incredibly helpful! Hi, a few weeks ago my daughter and her friends met up to work out in the early morning.The two employees were extremely unprofessional. They were both on their phones and sitting on the counters, and being very rude and unhelpful. After her workout the assistant manager followed her to the parking lot, introduced himself and asked for her number. It made her feel extremely uncomfortable. Why in the world was he following her into the parking lot?!!!!! It's unprofessional and inappropriate. She was terrified! She will not be returning! I called and asked for a manager and was told that their wasn't one to talk to. I asked for a corporate number they told me they didn't have one. This is beyond disgusting and unprofessional. Today I decided to try this GYM near my home, instead of the one on Broadway. Things I love about this Gym Machine arrangements were awesome! The stretching area is not out in the open so you get privacy. I really like that! Because I hate having all eyes on me at some point. I can set the mat and do my donkey back kick with less eyes looking at me. I also like that I was able to use all the equipment without having to wait. Oh and there were some newer machines I haven't seen before at the other gym on Broadway. The only thing I could not find where to hang my keys. I'll have to ask next time. 2nd gym I have ever joined. As far as gyms go this one is pretty good. It is a no frills place. They gave all the equipment a gym should have. They have 2 different payment programs 10 or 20 a month. There are a few perks with the 20 program. Such as hydromassage tables, deep tissue massage chair, tanning booth etc. They do have personal training sessions as well. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY! I joined this gym due to its proximity to Westwood High School so that I could work out and my kids could walk over after school and meet me. My 14 year old son entered the gym where we agreed to meet, arriving a few minutes earlier than I. The staff made him leave the premises and would not allow him to wait in the lobby or charge his phone while he waited for me. IT WAS 109 DEGREES OUTSIDE. I spoke with staff and they assured me that kids 13 and older were welcomed, if accompanied by a parent or guardian. I'm sure this refers to using the equipment, but they did not clarify. Based on what they said, I guess my 8 year old isn't welcomed in the building at all. I understand liability but their handling of the policy completely defeats the purpose of why I selected this gym. read more

I used to love going to this gym with my friend but ever since the new manager came, everything went downhill. The old manager was friendly and very understanding but every now and then I overhear the manager being rude to the staff members. As a regular, I see this often and I can't believe upper management doesn't do anything about this. As for the gym itself, the equipment is in obvious need of replacement and instead of mindlessly cleaning over the same old equipment, why not just replace it? Its truly appalling how Planet Fitness handles business. Most of the time I go, the staff isn't even in the front desk because they're busy cleaning. My friend and I have since switched to EOS at Alma School and the way they handle business is exponentially better. They're very friendly and the equipment is brand new. They even have a dedicated cleaning crew so the front desk person is always ready to help. read more

Worst gym I ever frequented. I am referring to the miserable Planet Fitness location in at 825 W University in West Mesa, AZ to be clear After stopping by a couple of times prior to signing up to get what I hoped was complete information about the gym/sign-up requirements etc, only to have their staff member enter my banking information incorrectly into their system. After questioning the staff, instead of checking why my due's were not billed, told me I needed to have a "card" on file. I told them I would not put a "card" on file. Manager provided me with third-party vendor name (Claimed not to have their phone number and to "google" it). After checking their contact information online, it was determined that my banking information was entered incorrectly. After showing them a blank check again, the banking information has been entered again incorrectly (I checked the last four digits against my account number and could clearly see it was incorrect). Prior to signing up with these incompetent morons, I belonged to a gym for about 20 years out of state and never had an issue. I was "offered" a cancellation of the membership and no cancellation fee but the print out I received still has the amounts listed. I will now notify my bank and take formal steps to make this incompetence known and also hopefully avoid getting charged in the future. I also want my "sign-up" fee back since I was not able to utilize the full annual membership. read more

I'm a Black Card member and work out at locations all over the nation. Not once have I been asked to leave for pulling my mask down during cardio. I get migraines and it's made worse by the masks, heavy respiration exacerbates it further. I have been nothing but cooperative throughout and the other locations have been polite and understanding. COVID started out more than 99% survivable, and we understand now which populations are at most risk. That survivability rate has only increased and most states are pulling back their restrictions. The Mesa, AZ location is either unaware of the harm wearing masks can cause folks with certain conditions or just doesn't care. Even though there were fewer than 10 people in a huge gym and I wasn't within 20 feet of any of them, I was just asked to leave despite my full explanation. It's good to know they care more for .06% of the population than for my money or experience. read more
