Plank Provisions at The Domain was such a great experience! We started with the hushpuppies, and that sweet dipping sauce on the side complemented them perfectly as an appetizer. The seafood pasta was also amazing, so rich and full of flavor. Great food, nice atmosphere, and a spot I'll definitely visit again!
I really loved this placeI went there for happy hour and the bartender is the best. He was nice and informative. I had 6 oysters but their sauce is so amazing, that I ordered 6 more. Then I had the rice balls with salmon on top, that was ok. But my favorite was the ceviche. It's the best I have had and I have had a lot. I really recommend this place.
Stopped in while in the Domain for a show. We were seated right away even without a reservation which was nice. Service was super attentive which was awesome. I really liked the mahi mahi tacos- the flavor was great. Also like the flavors in the wonton tacos- spicy and delicious, but the downside is both tacos were a bit on the soggy side. I really also loved the oyster shot which was fun. They seem like they have a good happy hour and would love to come back for that!
The staff were very friendly and attentive. There is a huge boat skeleton in the area that we sat and I thought it was pretty cool. came here early as our toddler sleeps at 7pm but in doing so, we are able to catch their happy hour. I had the golden beets, oysters and fish tacos. All were yummy. We did order a kids salmon meal (not pictured) and our son liked the salmon. The other items were too hard / sugary for a 14 month old - gummies and raw carrots. Would be nice if they served the kids meal with cooked soft carrots and rice. :)
I went back and forth on what to rate this place. It's probably somewhere between a 3 and 4 for me. My husband and I came in specifically for the happy hour oysters on the half shell around 3 pm on a Saturday. We took a seat at the bar. It was busy in the Domain but not super busy in the restaurant at this hour. We ordered drinks, oysters, and civiche. The bar tender was alone behind the bar and serving the whole restaurant. The service was a tiny bit slow, but it was easy to see why. The bar tender was very nice. It took quite a bit of time for my husband to receive his iced tea, but the oysters came out on a good pace. Our first round of oysters were not shucked well - there were a lot of shell bits left in the food. The various accoutrements for the oysters were nice! We got a second round of oysters that were perfect. I've visited this restaurant a few times, and I think this mix of great and okay is how they roll. The civiche was great. I'd go back just for this. A bit on the spicey side, which I really like. The restaurant is clean, well lit (but not bright), casual but still on the upscale side. I think this is a lovely happy hour spot. If their preparation was a bit more consistent, I'd probably visit regularly.
Came here to celebrate a birthday! Made reservations for a large party. Upon entry, we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and helpful with good follow through. Place is open, bright with ocean decor. We started with the raw oysters and hush puppies. Then we ordered fish tacos, fish and chips, steak and a burger. Everything was good. Not sure why the hush puppies came with sweet and sour duck sauce but it worked. Overall, it was good eats in the Domain!
We stopped by after buying clothes for a trip. The service was absolutely excellent. Daniel, the waiter, was attentive and informative. We ordered the Lobster and Shrimp pasta, and the rainbow trout with potatoes. Every night was a joy. Delicious. This is a great place; I will go back again. Super nice people, fun setting and decorations, with amazing food.
This was my first time eating at Plank Provisions. We went on a Friday night with reservations for four. It was a good thing we did because the place was packed, the wait was about 45 minutes for anyone without a reservation. We arrived on time and were seated on the patio right away, which was a great start. The patio has a nice atmosphere and felt lively without being overwhelming. Our waiter was very attentive and did a great job keeping our drinks flowing. The table really enjoyed the cocktails, especially the cucumber collins and the sea foam margarita. For appetizers we shared the wonton tuna tacos and fried calamari, and both were tasty. For my main, I ordered the lobster bisque and it had a unique flavor that I really liked. My dinner companions ordered the baja fish tacos, Faroe Island salmon, and the redfish. We all enjoyed the night from start to finish. I would say this is a great midrange seafood restaurant, and if grading within that category I would give it 5 stars. If comparing it to places like Truluck's or Eddie V's Prime Seafood, I'd probably bring that down to about 3.5 stars. Bottom line: good waiter, good drinks, and good food.
Had the best happy hour experience at Plank! We stopped by during their daily happy hour (every day 3-6 PM- such a great deal!) and were blown away by everything we tried. We started with the ahi tuna wonton that was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, followed by the fresh ceviche and the beet salad, all of which were delicious and felt so fresh. The seafood really shines here. The cocktails were equally impressive- creative, refreshing, and expertly mixed. Great for sipping while you enjoy the coastal-inspired vibes of the space. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere is perfect for catching up with friends or unwinding after work. Highly recommend for happy hour or a casual dinner, we'll definitely be back to sample more off their menu!
We were up from San Antonio and decided to give this Domain eatery a try. We were absolutely thrilled! Our server, Esmeralda (Esme), was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaged without being intrusive. Great recommendations! The food was amazing...my flat iron steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The salmon was flaky and flavorful. The oysters were fresh and delicious... briny goodness. I highly recommend. Cheers!
WHAT IN THE WORLD??! Plank has been on my must-try list ever since I saw the signage being put up. If I could eat seafood for every meal, I absolutely would! I wasn't sure what to expect--maybe something closer to a seafood boil--but after finally stopping by and giving it a try, I was even more delighted than expected!! My partner & I sampled a variety of sushi and shareables, and NOT A SINGLE DISH MISSED. What to order / tried & true: * Maryland-Style Crab Dip - delicious, so creamy, loved the fresh sourdough included!!!! * Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Cakes - flavors, A+ * Yellowtail Sashimi - SO FRESH & tastefully cut/made * Yellowtail Serrano Roll - NO NOTES, refreshing * Sake Ceviche Maki I'm definitely coming back for their happy hour from 3-6 p.m. as they offer $1.50 East Coast oysters!!!
Let's start with parking. It's all free and there's parking in the street or you can choose the pink garage just a short walk away. I knew I was coming here the day before with a group of 12 people which gave me plenty of time to scan through over 100 of the most current reviews. Plenty of folks raving about their experience here, but we all like to know where they fall short as well. Most of the yelpers here enjoy this place, but there are instances where service lacks, especially at the bar and either the food is too bland or salty. The crab cakes are small for the money, the oysters don't appear to be local and one reviewer compared it to an overpriced Red Lobster. Since this is a group setting, I should point out that they do have a room at the back which has a maximum occupancy of 19. They even put together a personalized menu for our group. The apps were good, the biniet style hush puppies paired with bacon jam were the best as were the brussell sprouts. The main course choices were mixed. The flat iron steaks were unevenly cooked, raw at one end well done at the other. The side of fries were boring in desperate need of ketchup. The salmon was cooked perfectly and flakey ( best not to order steak at a seafood restaurant). Our desserts came out a lot later than expected, and they were prepacked to go. Overall, the service was slow paced which we expected and the food for the most part was good and a step above Red Lobster. It's a place I'd come back to try again. 8 informative photos included.
Popped in for a drink and light bite. The bar was full, well single seats between peeps so no 2 seats together. So got sat at a high top in the bar area. Stratton our person was great. Got an old fashion and espresso martini along with the Brussel sprouts. Drinks came out quickly and the Brussel sprouts took a long time. It was their happy hour - Costal Hour - time so it was busy with peeps ordering the $1 oysters. If I ate raw oysters this would be a deal! Restrooms were nice and clean. Overall enjoyed the time and I'd like to go back to try other items on the menu.

Think of this place as an extremely overpriced Red Lobster. Service was absolutely horrible. There were at least 15-20 tables open and we still had to wait 15 mins because we didn't want to sit at the bar. Took 10 mins for server to come and get us drinks. Ordered a beer only to find out 10 mins later they didn't have it in stock. Took forever to get waters refilled. When it came time to pay, it took 15 mins for him to bring checks, then we split check and the guy says his handheld isn't working, never comes back at all, had to flag 3 other people down in order to pay the check, since our original server refused to come back to the table. This place is STUNNING. We could not believe how beautiful and CLEAN it was on the inside. As soon as we walked into the door till the time we stepped out, service was spot on and excellent. Almost every single waiter stopped by our table to play with our baby which made us feel so welcome and I'm sure our daughter felt like such a princess with all the attention on her. As far as the food goes, everyone loved it. That Thai clam chowder is hands down the best clam chowder any of us has had. The flavor profiles in that soup were so complex but subtle and it really just married together so beautifully. The golden beet salad was light, refreshing, and not overly "dirty" tasting like most beets are. I think this salad would even be good for someone that doesn't necessarily like beets as well! Smoked fish dip was just okay; not a lot of flavor going on there but it was nice that it wasn't overly fishy. Main complaint is I wish the red onions were more pickled or vinegar forward. I probably wouldn't order that again but don't regret it. Swordfish was cooked beautifully. It's honestly the best way I've ever had swordfish prepared. That green sauce they served it with was out of this world. Ahi Tuna noodles was just okay. The ahi tuna was cooked beautifully and tasted fresh. I just wasn't a fun of the sauce. It felt like the noodles needed some type of acidity, maybe lemon juice. Overall I would eat here again. A little on the pricey side but for great seafood, worth it. read more
They really took care of us here at Plank! Came in for the grand opening oyster special, ended up getting quite the feast including multiple drinks, appetizers, desserts and even the very impressive, 3-tiered Royal Seafood Tower. It was a great time with exceptional service, delicious food, and all around accommodations that went above and beyond. Oh my goodness! How wonderful! The fried Clams and oysters on the half shell were fantastic! Then we tried the brussel sprouts! A tad salty but very delish! Next the Red snapper! Omg - the butter sauce was fantastic and garlic and hazelnut sauce was amazing! Then the Halibut! We loved the fish - perfectly cooked - and the salad could stand on its own. Service by Shane and Scott and the entire team was on point and very apparent. Loved the pastel bread dishes - all of the serve-ware is gorgeous! This place is fantastic- service, food and all! We popped in on a recent daylight pub crawl for a drink and a snack, and Plank did not disappoint. The bar is clean, lively, and energetic, and the service was professional. We went with oysters from New England & Canada, and they were outstanding. They were so good we had a second order! Our drinks were cold and well-poured, and the entire experience hit the spot on a warm summer afternoon. Keep up the good work Plank. read more
The Domain has no lack of wonderful restaurants to choose from, but I would recommend Plank above all else. Our waiter was a bright ball of positivity to end the night with. He gave us a few great suggestions for us to try as a table. My favorite dish (and man was it difficult to choose between) was the Thai Clam Chowder. I'm Still thinking about it and wish I could deliver it to my house every week. A great comfort dish option for the winter months coming as well. My second favorite was the Ahi Tuna, I'd liked to have had a bit more mushrooms in the dish but it was amazing regardless. So many interesting flavors at once that pair perfectly. The Crab & Curry Basmati Rice was delicious. If you're not as adventurous of an eater they have a great Rock Shrimp Tagliatelle that is very tame in flavor, but leaves you full and happy of buttery shrimp goodness. We also had a mix of Iced Oysters and Dressed Oysters that were wonderful and fresh. One in our party said they did get a bit of shell on one, but overall it was a great experience with very fresh oysters. We called ahead to ask if they would be able to accommodate our party of 5 at 10pm when their closing time was 11pm and they said come on in no problem. We were some of the only customers and settled our orders and the check early with them and they were gracious enough to let us linger a bit after 11 to visit more with one another. The bathrooms were spotless. The vibe felt like we were on a fancy fishing boat or a resort on a beach somewhere. I love the warm lighting and the non cringey nautical themed pieces of decor. The booths themselves were adorable! Walking in the bar is straight ahead with a great view of the rest of the restaurant and door in case you beat your friends their and can grab a drink. We'll definitely be back (next time with lots more time to enjoy it)! read more
Stopped in here on a Friday night we were able to get reservations just a couple of hours ahead of time. A great establishment with excellent service if you are looking for some great seafood options. We got several items including the hush puppies which came with an excellent jalapeno jam. The jam had a little bite to it but it wasn't over powering. Also got the crab and curry rice with cilantro and green onion. Another favorite was the smoked fish spread. Really delicious with all the right flavors and wasn't to fishy. Next was the calamari wasn't to dry and came with a great aoli sauce. Got a half a dozen oysters and had some great briny flavor to it. Our main course was the ahi tuna which came with noodles, mushrooms, green onion, and yuzu. A really excellent dish that was cooked just right with all the right spices and flavors. It had a great price point definitely not the most upscale but feels like it with the ambiance and decor. My margarita was excellent and mixed really well. A unique drink topped with sea foam. They also have a happy hour with food and drink specials. Definitely a spot I would go back to for happy hour or dinner. read more

First of all, best oysters in Austin in my opinion and would be five stars for that reason alone, buuuut, everything else isn't as good. I've had a few of their entrees and I would say just come for $1 off oysters on happy hour and get some drinks, that would be a really good time. read more

Top shelf. Posh. Amazing. High quality. Freshness to the MAX. Coming to this new restaurant is like going to the ocean without the boat, it comes to you. Old fashion are good, but could be better. Needs more liquor and less sweet. Cucumber cocktails are sweet but missing the dry of the liquor. I will say 3.5/5 on cocktails but the seafood, makes up for the difference. Seafood tower comes with 2 levels. Level 1, sea scallops sashimi style. Capital T for Tender!! Then sashimi fish, wasn't a fan of the sliced radish, felt the crunch took away from the texture of the fish. Devil eggs, amazing. Soft and buttery. Level 2, oysters and ole bay shrimp. What can you say? Ocean on a plate, amazing, fresh and sweet oysters. It comes with cute little Tabasco droplets and creamy horse radish. Calamari was typical, what you expect, I was searching for the tentacles since they have the most meat but it was primarily had slices, felt too much batter and not enough meat or the squid. The best dish of the night, fish toast. Words can not describe the texture, richness, fattiness, freshness, tart, sour, sweet, all those of mixed with the crunch of toast and to top off the softness of the sashimi on top, it's all elements on 1 plate. I would come back and order 2 places just for myself. It's that good. Lastly, good ahi tuna tartar, fresh and cute, but the chip is too thin. It breaks apart trying to scoop. Imagine keeping it more asian and have a wonton chip instead. The choice of chips is wrong, too oily but with wonton chips, that will keep it together. read more

I have come to Plank several times over the last year, and every time, I am more and more impressed. As someone with a tree nut allergy, I understand that not all restaurants can accommodate or guarantee that cross contamination will not occur. But the staff here makes sure that I and my family can eat safely and happily. Second, the environment here is incredible. My fiancé and I went last night and I overheard one of the servers telling another table that this is one of the healthiest working environments she's worked in within the service industry, and as a fellow industry member, that goes a long way with me. The food is great. The staff is incredible. And the vibes are always chill. 10/10. read more

After hearing and seeing so many raving reviews about Plank Seafood Provisions, I had to give the place a try. It did not disappoint! The restaurant itself has a nice vibe to it. I liked the nautical decor and the hipster music playing in the background. To start off, I got the calamari. It was nice and crispy. The calamari was topped with pickled red onion, served with an aji aioli, and garnished with cilantro. Next I got the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp as one of my main entrees. This entree has 4 pieces of jumbo shrimp wrapped around bacon and served on a bed of creamy grits mixed with aged white cheddar, tomatoes, and crawfish beurre blanc. If you like creamy grits then you'll like this dish. The Rock Shrimp Tagliatelle is a pasta dish with rock shrimp and tagliatelle pasta noodles mixed with a sauce made of lemon, butter, white wine, and herbs. I enjoyed this dish and it was light too. Lastly I got the Wood Grilled Ahi Tuna. The ahi tuna was nice, tender, and fresh. Underneath the ahi tuna was a bed of ginger scallion noodles stir fried with green onion and mushrooms while garnished with alfalfa sprouts, red onion, and sesame seeds. This was probably my favorite of all the dishes I ordered. The only thing that I thought was a bit strange was that they bring out a card reader when it comes time to pay for the check and your server is looking right at you when you pay and input the tip amount. I really enjoyed all the dishes ordered and will certainly be back! read more
Wow! The lobster linguine at Plank Seafood is absolutely amazing. It tastes so fresh, and you can literally taste each individual ingredient used in the dish. The richness of flavor is evidence of the quality ingredients used and the diligence of the chefs who prepared the dish. I would definitely go back, but it would be difficult to try other dishes when this one was such a winner. 10/10 read more

Stopped by here for an early dinner on a Monday. Very quiet and not busy at all. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. We started off with the iced oysters and asked to include each type so we can have a variety. All were great and fresh. The blackened fish tacos are also delicious. If you want some more refreshing get the Smoked Mussels Escabeche as it is served chilled. The clam chowder is very comforting and delicious. Will definitely return. read more

I visited Plank for the first time while on a work trip. Our waiter was super nice and helpful. He fully understood the menu and was able to make food and drink recommendations to my coworkers that they enjoyed. The ambiance at Plank are very nice and intimate. Lunch break during Christmas shopping at the Domain. Just the stop we needed. Beautiful decor, excellent customer service from waitstaff and host. Quaint but still felt like we could talk. Shared app and entree. Both were delicious! Tea was fresh too! Definitely would visit this place again to give full dinner a try. read more
I love the ambiance and funny enough they have great kids options. Our service has varied the times we have dined here. I noticed that when we came with our kids although we ordered several dishes, drinks and even dessert compared to a couple other tables with all adults we where not tended to as well and kind of ignored. Meaning our drinks never got refilled unless we asked several times no body ever asked how the food was as they did to the tables around us and trying to get our waiters attention was met with a peeved attitude. Our kids where always seated not screaming or making a scene to add so it's not like we had that going against us. Maybe they assumed they wouldn't get as big of a tip as they would with four adults compared to a table with just two adults and two kids so they just don't bother to give as much attention. Our food was hit or miss for example the Halibut featured in our photo was beyond dry and flavorless as we like our fish tender and flaky especially at a seafood restaurant and our Brussel sprouts where so burnt it was like eating ashes with sauce , on the other hand we had amazing oysters AuGratin and bacon wrapped shrimp that I would definitely recommend getting. It was like gambling hoping every other plate we ordered was going to be worth the price and delicious and not a overpriced disaster. I mean it was already hard to get anyones attention without feeling like we where doing something wrong so I couldn't imagine asking for a dish to be sent back and remade! The kids enjoy the fact they get yogurt an orange fruits snacks , fries and a cheeseburger all in one meal well worth the price. You can always get them different sides other than fries like fruit and they even offer Salmon on the kids menu which we absolutely love . The very last time we are at Plank which was April 2022 our waiter was very friendly but again we had to ask for refills on our tea and water after not having drinks for quit a while several times before we actually got it like if he forgot, as well as noticing how all the tables with only adults where getting very tentative service from the same exact waiter. Luckily our food was good this last visit although I would only say that service was slightly improved . We didn't go into the place knit picking either so it's not like we look for things to complain about. I know that wait staff works for tips and I usually give good tips when the service matches the experience. Think, if every waiter treated people less than simply because they assume some people don't tip well when they actually do and then subsequently get a crappy tip they in turn think they where rite the whole time because they in return do get a crappy tip for the lousy service . Thus never once chalking it up to their service to the customer but instead make it seem like the customer is cheap and they where somehow rite the whole time . Don't be that waiter / waitress if you hate serving people don't get into the service industry not everyone owes you a huge tip but you do need to give the customer the best experience you can provide . I blame this on the hiring process because this is a talk all managers need to have with current and new staff at any restaurant. Any way id still say try the place out and make your own decision if you think its worth the money or not. read more

I'm from RI the home of seafood, after all we are the ocean state, let me tell you folks plank is the place to dine if your looking for seafood flavors that truly appeal to any and all taste pallets! I come here a few times a year and the food and drinks are always amazing. Service, ambience, cuisine - oh my! Hands down, a phenomenal dining experience. From the dressed oysters, to chowder to fish and chips - you can't go wrong because everything was divine. What made our lunch so spectacular was the attention to detail and their amazing focus on client experience. How? We were running 10 minutes behind and Hostess, Esmeralda moved our resy up so we wouldn't miss our table. Followed by Mac, our server extraordinaire- he was so knowledgeable and on top of every dish, every ingredient with recommendations. Followed by Gabriela, where no detail of fine dining standards was overlooked. The photos speak for themselves that this is THE place to treat yourself for delectable seafood (and more!) Let me just start by saying WOW I stumble upon this place as I was going to Sephora.. I had just missed happy Hr (3-6pm M-F) but I wasn't disappointed Had oysters to start. One of them was not to my taste (Rochambue) but I let them know and the team fixed it right away. My Favorite one was ((Malpeque)) I also had the octopus Amazing Sat at the bar as I was by my self. It's such a pleasant place to have a date or just come eat by your self. They have outside sitting but I love the bar. Love the decor And the staff was amazing Over all great experience. Order the Thai clam chowder. Just do it! I've been here twice and it's still the best thing I've had on the menu. Everything else I've tried has been fantastic too, though. My boo had the redfish with fingerling potatoes and hazelnut brown butter, and he won't stop talking about the butter..so it must be really good. I was first intrigued by the beautiful plants and succulents in the outdoor seating, lso I stopped by. Let me tell you.....EXTRAORDINARY is not even the word. I walked in around 5 on a Friday and was seated immediately. Emmitt C was my server and he was fantastic. He knew his restaurant and helped me find the best things on the menu. I ordered the cocktail strawberry surfer, the rappahannock and katana bay oysters, the blackened rockfish taco, and the wood grilled caesar salad. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys top tier seafood! read more

Vegan or glutton free?
Don't know about vegan (except that the vegans they serve are delicious), but Plank does have a gluten free menu, and there are several good options. (We had a GF member in our party the other day.)
