The outdoor patio at this restaurant is a true hidden oasis on the ucla campus. I did find it a funny that the Greek village salad boasted the use of Valbreseo which is French feta in the item description isntead of an actual Greek feta, but Valbreso is the superior feta so I don't blame them for opting for the better feta. Everything we ordered was delicious and I would happily return here for breakfast to try the lemon ricotta pancakes, green shakshuka and eggs santorini. I have to agree with other reviewers that the staff who work the host/hostess stand aren't great, but our waitress and bus boy were. If you live or work in the area this would be a great spot for a business lunch, dinner or a casual date spot. We really enjoyed our Saturday afternoon lunch with our dog. read more

So close to where I work and such a beautiful place to relax and have a nice lunch or drink. We didn't have a reservation as it was my first time coming on our own accord. Usually we are invited by others so it was our first time experience by ourselves. The inside was full so we sat outside, luckily the sun wasn't really bright and full, otherwise it would've been too hot to be outside. We got a table for 6 because there were 5 of us. We ordered water but also an orange juice, they had house made sodas but we thought hydrating with water on a hot day is better. We got an appetizer to share, white bean dip, with oregano flatbread. It was delicious, it reminded me of a thick bean soup and it had beets, orange slices, and walnuts. I ordered the chicken piccata, the others ordered lamb pita and a burger. If you want to replace a different protein for a dish like salad or pasta, there's a fee which they said follows the add options not replacement options. The chicken piccata came with risotto, I usually don't order risotto on its own so happy to have it as a side, it was a bit hard and a few bites were chalky, but the rest were good. Loved the broccolini with capers, and left the lemon alone. Chicken was tender but also very small, but still deliciously flavored. Very attentive staff, wonderful ambiance with a nice breeze and nature surrounding our table. I think it's a very relaxing break from the other places we could've chosen in Westwood. Good place to come eat a nice meal if you're staying at the Luskin center or before or after whatever activity you have planned at UCLA. Really nice interior and it was really nice and comfortable eating inside, but it also looked like it would be nice to dine outside if the weather is nice out. Menu is pretty simple, but they do have a variety of items from salads to soups to sandwiches and burgers and pizzas. Think the most expensive item I saw on the menu was a $44 steak, so prices are somewhat reasonable. I got a Tuscan chicken sandwich with fries. The food wasn't spectacular, but it was pretty good and actually filled me up. Service was nice and friendly. If you read the bottom of the menu, it says tipping is actually not expected and accepted. Kind of weird, but I'm not complaining. read more

Dined at Plateia for a business lunch on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty busy. Luckily I made a reservation through OpenTable so I was all set. The space is next to Luskin Conference Center so it was very nice and spacious. They have valet in the front but I would see if there are any free parking lots in Westwood. Was promptly seated after check in. Host was nice as well as our server. We ordered the hamburger and lamb pita based on the servers recommendation and I ordered the shrimp tagliatelle. The food came out pretty quick, however the meat on the burger and the lamb pita were cold to the touch. The bun on the burger was warm, but the patty itself was cold- not room temperature.... cold. Almost as if it came out of a fridge- but it was cooked. We let our server know and she immediately took the plates back and apologized. The food was then re-delivered to us about 5 minutes later, warm. The burger and lamb pita came with a side of fries or a salad- surprisingly, they didn't have any ranch! We opted for fries, which was crispy and cooked well. My shrimp pasta was cooked well and had enough shrimp. The food was tasty but nothing really stuck out. I think this restaurant would be perfect for business meals as the price isn't too bad and the food comes out quick. The lamb pita didn't come with tzatziki sauce but we were able to ask for it. That sauce was pretty good. The pita is a bit dry without it so definitely be sure to ask for it. What was really surprising was the bill. We tried to tip the server but noticed there was no place to do so. At the bottom of the bill, it said "Plateia is a gratuity-free environment". That definitely caught us off guard. It was nice that I didn't have to pull out my calculator in front of my boss, but it would've been nice to have been able to tip the kind and understanding server. read more

Loved that Plateia is located so close to Polly Pavilion (between the Pavilion and Parking structure 8. Very nice setting for dinner before a game. As we checked in we no reservations, we were asked if we were going to attend the game? Nice that they were going to ensure we get out in time. Even though we arrived with only an hour before game time. Excellent service got our drink and meal order in and served timely. My Cadillac margarita was very nice and deceivingly delicious and strong. I got the chicken fillet with mashed potatoes and hubby ordered the game day burger. Both were delicious. Hands down this is the best place to dine at while at UCLA. Service here is excellent! Came here for a late lunch while waiting for my baby Bruin to get out of class to come home for the weekend. Located conveniently by parking lot 11 and near the Bruin store and the Alumni Center. I originally assumed it was a members only kind of dining establishment, but I asked the staff and they said it was open to the public. If you want a nice sit down restaurant rather than the UCLA fast food options, this place will not disappoint. I sat outside in the beautiful patio surrounded by olive trees where I enjoyed reading a great book while waiting for my food. The staff is amazing and attentive. I had a burger and fries, which was great! For dessert I had the basque cheesecake, which was light, delicious, and refreshing. Overall, this is my new favorite place to eat while at UCLA. I visited Plateia on July 22, 2026, during lunchtime, and unfortunately the experience was terrible. We ordered two fish soups, but what arrived was a strange dish containing corn that looked and tasted nothing like soup. When I told the staff that this was not what we had ordered, they simply said it was the only soup available and called it "vegetable soup." However, it was not properly explained to us before ordering, and the dish was extremely unpleasant and almost impossible to eat. The staff's response was dismissive rather than helpful, and no suitable alternative was offered. Overall, the food and service were both very disappointing. Came for pre-graduation meal back in June. It was an awkward time - 3:30pm. We had the lounge menu. Decent selection of meals (salad, hamburgers, pizzas) and good selection of drinks and cocktails. I have been twice now - once for lunch and once for breakfast. For lunch I ordered "The" Burger. It was delicious and they were able to honor my request of a gluten free bun which was awesome. The only change I would have made would have been to add egg and bacon onto the burger. The side with the burger were their parmesan fries. These were so good I wish there were more! For breakfast, I ordered the eggs your way. Once again, they were able to accommodate with gluten free toast. We were staying at the hotel and not being familiar with the area we decided to have dinner here at the hotel. After being seated it took over 10 minutes before water/drinks were offered. They didn't offer unsweetened black tea. It was at least another 20 minutes before our order was taken. I asked about the soup and the original waiter mumble something and walked away. It was another 10 minutes before another waiter arrived. After we received our meal, I found a black 4 to 6 inch hair in my salad. I was unable to let the waiter know. We finally received our check, paid and left. It's interesting the polenta was sweet. Most polenta I've eaten with meat is prepared savory. For a hotel restaurant and campus spot it's actually very good. The service is first rate; which is much appreciated after a long day working a conference inside this hotel. For me food just has to be good enough given the convenience of this place but the kitchen excels. Their house bread is a fluffy and fresh focaccia which is crave worthy. The staff has been generous to provide it to me complimentary when I've asked on multiple occasions. Their pizzas are Neapolitan style with a crust that rivals some of the best wood oven craft pizza places in town. I recommend keeping it to the simple margarita pizza, as I found the other ones not so tasty although the crust was great across all of them. The burgers are solid and cooked to your requested temperature, and they'll do them for lunch or dinner even tho it's not on the dinner menu. The pastas here are also crave worthy with perfectly cooked pasta and just the right amount of everything. I had to do a lot of work meals recently and was surprised that looking back I was wishing the food at other places was like Plateia--high quality, piping hot, and well executed dishes. I've had their food and service many times for catered events in the Luskin center and large group dinners in the restaurant but they truly excel when you're just stopping in at their restaurant bar or dining room for a meal, never mind it's part of UCLA so you're prob here for the convenience factor. If this restaurant was standalone and off campus I would still be craving it and raving all about it. I hope they bring back their bacon wrapped dates one day bc those were legendary! read more

We were seated quickly but had to wait a while before being acknowledged by our server. We started with cocktails - the Barcelona, Sicilian Old Fashioned, and Rose Bowl Old Fashioned. All were well-crafted and balanced with interesting flavor combinations. The bar team definitely knows what they're doing. For food, we ordered the Cacio e Pepe pizza and celery root soup. The pizza had a nice thin crust with just the right amount of cheese and pepper to make the classic pasta dish work in pizza form. The celery root soup was creamy and flavorful with good depth. Throughout the meal, service was a bit spotty. Everyone was friendly, but it seemed a challenge to keep up with the crowds, and cocktails came out damp from spillage on wobbly trays. All in all, the food and drinks are worth checking out if you're in the area. The service hiccups were minor and didn't ruin the experience, but there's definitely room for improvement on that front. Service was good and the ambiance is subtle but stylish. Our dinner was buffet style. Charcuterie platters (had to restock pita bread often), delighted in Manchego cheese. The margherita pizza was legit and the beef sliders were great and filling. Tasted Gouda cheese and smashed avocado. When the dinner ended, the staff said we could box extra food and there was a lot! During the white elephant exchange, management asked us to tone it down. Found out tips are not expected or accepted here. My first visit will certainly not be my last! The restaurant is inside the hotel lobby. Intimate with a bar, elevated booth tables, and a beautiful outdoor patio for an extended atmosphere. The patio has heat lamps and greenery for extra comfort. On a Tuesday early evening the spot was packed with customers getting drinks at the bar and dining at the restaurant. I had overheard the wait time for a table would be 40 minutes! I was lucky to have been a table for 1, and was quickly seated. In less than 15 minutes of ordering my food was served I was so impressed despite them having such a busy day. I ordered the bolognese and broccolini they were both soo good! The pappardelle was cooked just to al dente, tossed in a veggie meat sauce and sprinkled generously with shaved Parmesan. The sauce was light and sweet with tomato and carrot cooked down. It could've used more bits of meat, I hardly got much. My favorite was the broccolini. I regretted not ordering more it was divinee. Each piece had the most gratifying crunch, sautéed and roasted ends, chimichurri on top, and my favorite the sweetness of the broccolini wasn't masked by anything. However, at the bar the bartenders have no personality, they never check back and they basically ignore you. Thank goodness they don't accept tips, if they did they would get a big fat zero! After catching an exciting UCLA basketball game with my good friend, we decided to cap off the evening with dinner at Plateia, and I'm so glad we did. They lost our dinner order for a lamb dish and tried to fix it by bring a dish called "linguine with clams" which was a garbage dish of spaghetti and no clams or anything else. We spent over $400 bringing some guests from Washington, DC who are about to fund a major program at UCLA and this place was a total embarrassment. Management should be fired. read more

Our experience at this restaurant was unacceptable. From the moment we arrived, the manager was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. What really pushed this over the edge was how we were treated because of our service dog. Instead of being welcomed like any other customer, we were immediately questioned about the legitimacy of our dog -- in a tone that was accusatory and downright hostile. The manager seemed completely unaware (or just didn't care) about the laws protecting individuals with service animals. It was embarrassing, stressful, and completely unnecessary. We tried to explain calmly, but the attitude never changed. We were made to feel like we didn't belong. The rest of the staff seemed uneasy too, probably because of how their manager was handling things. This is not how anyone should be treated -- especially when following the law and just trying to enjoy a meal. We won't be returning, and I hope management gets proper training on ADA compliance and basic customer service read more
