Let me first say, I am new to the area from Temecula so maybe the level of service and quality is due to the difference in cities. Benefit of the doubt. Now, first of all the sign out front that says full set, ignore the price because it's not true. I have long natural nails and wanted to have acrylic powder put on to strengthen the nail. I couldn't decide between gel or acrylic and none of the staff seemed interested in giving suggestions or a solution. I decided on acrylic after being told I could do it without purchasing tips. The nail tech tells me that my lengths are too short and I should put tips on three of my nails, I told her no, please just make them rounded square and file them down to square instead of adding length. Mind you I've had girls who have created a square from a round before, so I know it can be done. But never the less, file them evenly at least. I told her to please clip my cuticles also. This was not done at all. I'm not sure what a manicure is if not filing, cuticles and polish. I've never had my nails done where they haven't at least pushed back the nail bed, trimmed the cuticles and put cuticle oil on the cuticles. The closest she got was squirting cuticle oil on the top of my hands and telling me to wash my hands. Not a single cuticle clipper or cuticle pusher was to be seen. Then I was told my total is $22. A full set is $19 with tips, even though the sign says less. So I asked why it's 22 and she told me because I had french. Normally, OK I understand French is more, but I didn't have tips put on. I only have acrylic applied to my nails and French. No pink and white, no fancy powder, no stick on sparkles or bells and whistles. So basically, I'm still at a loss at what I paid for, especially since my nails are slanted, my thumbs are two different lengths (which I pointed out and she ignored), and I still had to clip my cuticles when I got home. I get that having the card run prior to drying might help with people not messing up their nails but pressuring me into signing it is a shitty way to make me pay before finishing. I never would have tipped if I knew she would completely disregard what I wanted after seeing that I tipped her. Especially since I gave a good tip. read more

Honestly I look forward to coming here every time I visit my sister. Kim is so kind and gentle she never hurts me when she does my acrylics. Great clean service at a fair price. They also do nail art 3D pretty cool. I would recommend this place a thousand times over. I'm from New York and we are crazy about good service and cleanliness. Came here after my first choice was booked. They seated my friend and I right away, and got to work immediately. We both got gel manicures. Pretty basic, nothing special. I felt like a lot of basic manicure steps were skimmed over or forgotten. The color I chose was not available but yet they had it on the swatches, I was told those were "old". The man who did my nails rushed through the whole thing, put the gel on unevenly and got gel on my skin. My friend had a lady do her nails and had no complaints. I think I just committed a relationship with this nail salon! After suffering weeks with a horrible full set from my previous experience at a different salon, I finally did some more research and went to Platinum nails and got a fill. A couple of my friends also recommended this place. I came on a Monday afternoon without an appointment and Kim took me in right away. My friend had mention that she does acrylics really good so I was pretty excited. Kim had questioned where I previously went and even stated they didn't do a good job. I knew it since the beginning the shaping was HORRIBLE!! :( I had told her I was convinced with the reviews on Yelp. The decor of this isn't the prettiest but I didn't care too much. Kim was very attentive and precise throughout my set. She fixed every flaw from my previous set and made look them perfect! She also made them very light so they feel and look natural! She told me to see Amy. Amy is really sweet, she's been doing nails for a while. The first three visits, I received complimentary nail art. She and Theresa the owners, do such an awesome job on my nails. They know me by name, and we joke around during my visit. I have my hairdresser coming to Theresa who is allergic to acrylics. I could have given myself a better pedicure than what I got at Platinum Nails. The lady who did mine had to keep asking the other lady what to do, which struck me as odd. In hindsight, the lady who did mine probably wasn't licensed or didn't know how to do pedicures: she cut off way too much skin, left tons of nail polish on my skin, didn't paint the edge of my toenails, and I even had to remind her to put on a topcoat. read more

Every month my Mom, sister and I go to get pedicures and I get a fill. All of us always have a great experience. Not the best, not the friendliest, you have to be the one striking up conversation with them, all the while they talk about you as you sit in the chair. The girls are rough and it looks like they do not switch tools in between cleanings. Girl gets rough on the scrubbing, and they don't even apply the tissue to not make mistakes with your toenails... I go to platinum nails because it is the cheapest place in north county to get gel manicure. I called all over the place and have been all over the place and it is the only place i know that costs only 20 bucks for a gel manicure. Also all the girls in their are so nice and personable! I went in yesterday on a Sunday thirty minutes before they closed after reading reviews on yelp. They had so many polish choices. I came in for a full set but decided on a gel manicure instead and am so glad I did! Kim made sure to learn my name and took her time even though they were very busy and it was after closing time that I didn't mind when she stepped away while my nails were under the lamp to assist other customers! I went to this place because it has good reviews but for me I didn't have the best experience. I went for a full set. There's a banner outside the store that says $15.99 for a full set the lady tried to charge me $19 and when I told her the sign outside says something different she told me she gave me a special powder that I didn't ask for.
