I just moved down here and have gone to this place a few times now. KIM is hands down the best nail tech here. I went in and had a different nail tech fill my coffin nails, and had to go back within 2 weeks to get them fixed because two broke off. Kim asked "Where did you go?! These are all wrong!" I said "HERE. That gal over there did them.." and she was in shock. I'll only go to Kim now! This is the first place my coffin nails actually turn out good and prices are very affordable! Terrible gel manicure! First they used the nail drill to remove my old manicure instead of soaking off which cut me twice. Then it was just super sloppy work and started chipping two days later. Not to mention the reuse of used tools before being properly sanitized.. nail files are not supposed to be reused after use on someone they should be thrown away or given to the customer. I have been coming to this nail shop for years. Today I came in at 9am for a gel manicure and gel pedicure. As I'm getting my manicure the lady asks, "can you come back later for your pedicure? " I'm sure the look on my face told it all but I had to say something. "Can I pay you for all the services later?" She said, "no hunnie you pay now then later again. We are short staffed and two 10am appointments just came in." So I cut her off and said, "not my problem you better figure it out. " she finishes my manicure and rushes me to the pedicure chair. As I start looking at my hands, the polish looks great but ugh she didn't give me a massage. So rude and unprofessional. Time to start looking for a new nail shop! read more

She did ok on my nails nothing special, got my toes done as well. That was on Tuesday, it's Thursday of the same week and the polish is already peeling off my toes. This place was super over priced and just not worth it at all. I honestly should have just waited for my regular salon to open back up because it would have been HALF the price literally and three times as good. However I did observe the other employees and went back for service again. This time I requested an employee I observed from my last visit. I decided to give this place a shot since I didnt feel like driving inland in traffic to see my gal at Elegant Nails by In and Out in Vista. I was desperately needing a fill and I know if I went near my house, I'd pay a minimum of $60 after a fill and pedicure without all the extras. This is located in a small plaza near weinerschnietzel and has a small parking lot. They weren't too busy as I went around 2pm and I'm sure most people are still at work or at the beach. Amy greeted me and asked what I needed and was very pleasant. Very well priced, not pushy on upgrades and was able to converse. I liked that they didnt all gossip and yell across the room as many nail salons usually do. No its not your fancy painted wall with beautiful frames, or have tv's everywhere but it is clean, they are well staffed, they have good massage chairs that work, and are not overpriced. I got a french tip with gel fill with a spa pedicure. Amy is great. The older gal that did my toes didn't really speak English but she was sweet. She did a great job of cutting cuticles, callus remover scrub, and designing flowers on my toes. I've had my nails over a week now. No chips, no discoloration, no lifting, and I am extremely happy with what I paid for how natural my fill looked as if it were a new set. Amy listened to what I wanted and didnt do what she wanted. There are many times I've gone into new places and I'm specific on what I want and they just start cutting, filing,and doing their thing and its not what you want. Amy did such a perfect job. I will be back because of the friendly staff, great service, and the price is definitely right! read more

Ok, I am now stating that THIS is my favorite nail salon in Oceanside. In all of North County, actually. And the cheapest. My 3rd Gel Mani here, done by Susan, last night. She did my nails last time, just before New Years Eve. They lasted a FULL 3 WEEKS with NO CHIPPING. On the last 2 days I noticed that the clear coat was starting to lift a little and that they were really grown out form my nail bed, and it was time for a manicure before they started to look like crap. But not even one nail looked bad when I went in for a manicure last night. Susan is my lady now. She glops on the gel rather thick, both times I was getting a glitter gel polish, and the way she applies it must be the secret. It's on the thicker side, but it's very long lasting. I am not sure if she will apply it so thick if I am getting a non-glitter polish, we will see, and the durability. But Susan is meticulous about getting the gel off your skin, which is what causes early lifting. No drill to remove the old polish. She never talks to you either. They're not that busy on Mondays, I think weekends are typically busy like any salon. Huge fan, but the interior still needs a clean up and a make over. read more

Don't waste your time or money going here. I use to go to this salon years ago. I was in town, thought I would pop in again. I don't know what happened, if it got sold or what but the quality has gotten so poor. There was literally no one in there but three employee's when I arrived. The woman did a lazy half assed job at best. She spent less than 1 minute cutting my dead cuticles off. I worked as a hair dresser in a salon for over 13 years. I know what a proper pedicure consists of. I can't get close enough to my feet to do a good job, that's why I go to a salon, but this is not the salon to go to. When she went to put lotion on, she literally left out the heel. Who leaves out the heel on a pedicure? That's the driest part of the foot! When I went to pay, I told the gals how I felt. I was told that I should have complained earlier, that some people don't like their cuticles cut. UM, NO! You do a proper pedicure and IF I don't want my dead cuticles cut, then I will say something. I had every intention for paying for this pedicure. But the gal acted so 'put out' that I complained that she was like, I wouldn't take your money now if you tried. This is a service industry, if the customer can't tell you what they don't like, how can you get any better? Oh, I see, you don't want to get better, that was painfully obvious. Looking at the reviews, it seems it's a hit or miss going to this salon and the prices have gone up $9. from the last time I went there. So a gamble going and too high of prices to see IF you are going to get a good stylist. 1. lazy work + 2. unfriendly + 3. can't complain + 4. guilt trip = NO, never again. read more

There has been an uprising because of something that happened to me here today. I posted this story on Facebook: This escalated quickly. So. Read on. "Usually, I go to a salon in Carlsbad. They always do such a good job and are so nice and professional. Today, I went to: *****Platinum Nails at 1950 Oceanside Blvd in Oceanside, CA.***** My usual salon didn't have time since it was last minute, and I fly home to visit tomorrow. So I figured I'd try somewhere else and just get in and out. Horrible idea. Anybody with eyes can see that my nails look awful. They're too wide, weirdly shaped, and all different lengths. All I asked was that they soak them off, and I would pay for my toes that were painted (awfully, mind you, but that's not the issue at hand). The woman who was about to soak off my nails was stopped by the woman who actually did them. She asked why I didn't say something sooner. I said because I couldn't see the shape until the polish was on. Clear acrylic is hard to judge. The woman proceeded to demand I pay for them because she "wasted an hour" of time on my nails. I told her that I'm a dog groomer. If I spend 4 hours on a haircut and the owner isn't happy with it, I don't charge them. I told her that I wasn't going to pay for nails I'm not happy with. Then, and when I say "everybody" I mean EVERYBODY, working in the salon decided to gang up on me demanding I pay for the nails that were about to be soaked off. I asked them all to please be professional and not drag other clients into the argument, but they proceeded to do so and continued to harass me. Then as I said, "Are you serious? I'm leaving." They all JUMPED up, and ran for the door. LOCKING ME IN and STANDING IN FRONT OF THE DOOR. I called the police and the officer took down my info. Which he then turned around and gave to the salon in case they want to file a "civil" case against me. I had to pay $10.50 for my terrible nail color change on my toes and I was good to go. The most disappointing and heartbreaking thing of all was all of the clients sitting in silence while I'm being harassed. I would have spoken up for anybody else in a heartbeat. I have never been so embarrassed or shaken up. This is NOT okay for a "professional" establishment to do." Shortly after, when their ratings on Facebook went down, they deleted their Facebook page.
