I've been to this Plato's Closet location a few times, and unfortunately, the customer service has consistently felt unwelcoming--especially if you're not white. I've noticed staff greet some customers while completely ignoring others. It doesn't feel inclusive or friendly, which is disappointing for a place that relies on regular shoppers. The pricing also doesn't always make sense. I saw a shirt still with the Ross tag for $6.99, yet Plato's was asking $10. How is that a better deal than buying it brand new? One of the staff, a girl with glasses and long hair, seemed visibly annoyed when I asked to see some perfumes. I understand retail work can be tiring, but basic courtesy goes a long way.

So I just found out they were not but on Tuesdays and Saturdays. It's best to come in the morning when they open. I showed up at 130pm and was not able to sell stuff. At least the staff was nice.

Well let me see .... Didn't want to leave a bad review so will be a so-so one instead. - lots of parking available - located in corner of shopping center/ easily located from GPS - no restroom but Starbucks close by - employees seemed friendly - first time customer discount given which was a nice gesture Drove 30 min to check this place out & Sell & when arrived, Sign stated BUY BACKs closed today -over heard it amight awhile until they buy back as they are looking over inventory. I Should have called 1st as the main reason we drove this way. - Store space comparable to San Mateo as both a smaller sized shop, inventory lacking though, SM Plato has over abundance of clothing for sale. Here the the Racks were almost bare in some aisles. Daughter only found 2 tops & A last minute hoodie, compared to others Platos where she's shopping forever .... Only found 1 item for my aging style - lol - lastly when we got home a few hours later, noticed sensor tags still on 2 items. Alarm did not ring when walked out & I'll blame daughter as she was the one who walked out with her goodies. Now Will have call & plan a day to return as we don't live in this area & I'm a Sunday stay home Person. Will prob be a trek to Come out this way after work. - I'm guessing this location is on its way

This store has reopened under new ownership and they are grand reopening on Thursday March 20th!! The product in there is insane and the payouts have gotten way better - these old reviews are meaningless at this point honestly!

Went to the re grand opening of Plato's yesterday, I was super excited when I heard Plato's was finally re opening and decided to check it out on there first day. Before closing there store down last year i remember always finding affordable clothing from $2-$10 and having an amazing selection of clothing . That is not the case anymore. They have a specialized person who handles all the clothing now and boy have the prices sky rocketed. I understand that the store has to make money but these pieces get bought for $2-$5 for sure and they charge $24+ for a t shirt now because it is vintage. I wouldn't be upset if this was dedicated vintage store but no, this is Plato's a store where you supposed to get hand picked items for affordable pricing almost like a thrift store but now it's super expensive and overall just disappointing. I also understand that they get high end brands but to charge $250 for a purse is kind of absurd knowing they paid not even half of that .

The staff working here aren't very warm/friendly, which was rather surprising after reading previous reviews.

When I finally got someone, they said I had to wait for 4 to 6 weeks. Then I called Marzel's and they suggested that I have my doctor provide a prescription for a post-surgical garment and camisoles. I had my fitting today and found that Jennifer, the fitter in Pleasanton was very knowledgeable, compasionate and understanding. I was still oozing a little bit, but she helped me hold the surgical pad in place and I was able to try on both the post-surgical garment and a soft bra. She persisted in pulling stuffing out of the temporary prosthesis until it matched my remaining breast. I had been wearing a breast binder and my surgeon told me that I no longer needed it, but I didn't know what to wear instead. I left wearing the camisole with the temporary prosthesis in it feeling much more normal. Visiting Marzel's was good therapy for me. You need an appointment. When I called, they warned me that their suite was difficult to find. The large sign on 5980 Stoneridge Dr is "Coldwell Banker". You go into the building and walk down the hall until to you get to suite 119, which does not have windows.

The custom item is several times more costly, and risks that insurance won't pay. They say that they will submit to insurance, e.g. Medicare, but fail submit correctly. Then, they say they cannot figure out how to follow up failed insurance claims. It took me nearly a year to get them to correctly submit a nearly $4000 garment claim. I had to call the dozens of times, and instruct them how to format the claim.

Not sure who was an employee or who was just there hanging out. Not once were we greeted, my husband had to go to the counter to ask if he could use a fitting room. At that point I was the one helping my husband get different sizes and styles. The 30minutes that we spent there shopping not once did the move from behind the counter, you can see on the pictures I posted that one of them is sitting on the counter. The had snacks and drinks, I mean they were having a great time. At one point I heard an older gentleman asking about the current promos, one of the young ladies was yelling that they had 40% off across the store. My husband only purchased on tee since no one offered to get one off a mannequin, that was the size he needed. This was the worst experience we have had here, I hope someone addresses this with the employees. I would hate to see this store close because no one is making sales.
