Doofaa at the front desk is the best front of house I've had in Nashville in a long time. She was great!

First off, I will say that I really love the idea of this place. The fact that you can play similar games that you played as a kid while being an adult and having a few drinks is really fun! I was lucky enough to be invited to an event here. I will say lines for games did get kind of long. That is to be expected because there aren't a ton of games and if it is very busy, there's not a lot of space for people to go. I ordered a couple of drinks and they were fine. Staff seemed friendly, but they did have their hands full, especially on the main game floor. When we went up to the rooftop, there were more bartenders that were happy to help and service got better. The only downside I see to this place is the price. Although I love the idea of playing all these games and having a lot of fun with friends/family, paying over $60 for two hours of gameplay per person is a bit much in my opinion. I do like the fact that you can hang onto your game pass and reload it when you come back for $20. I just think that for a casual night out or a date night, if you get pretty expensive very quickly. Would definitely come back, would just depend on the circumstances. read more

It was a lot of fun but definitely overpriced for what it is! You should definitely visit to experience it and especially on a special occasion or night but we couldn't justify coming every weekend or very often, drinks were good and vibe was great! I am not the kind of person to come and write reviews on things if they're bad but this one felt like I needed to. We were excited to play some grown up fun games, thought it was like an adult friendly Dave and busters. Spent $83 for two people to play the games for what was told would be around 90 minutes worth of points. Once inside there were about 4 different games that you could use the points on. The rest of the games like tic tac toe, connect 4, etc, were free. If you go it's my opinion the games passes aren't worth it. read more

Flew out of Nashville early Monday morning, checked my bank statement that week to track spending in Nashville, someone decided to give themselves a nice tip and changed the total I wrote down. Play Playground has potential to be a great time, but our experience was completely ruined by one of the staff members, Courtney who claimed her name was "um um Brittany". We had to ask another staff member to get her real name. She blatantly ignored our group when we asked for help with a game. Instead of assisting us, she prioritized the group behind us and even allowed them to cut in front of us with no explanation. When I directly asked her for help, she gave a dismissive "sure" and then immediately walked away to talk to another customer, never returning to assist us. Her behavior was rude, unprofessional, and showed a clear lack of regard for fairness or basic customer service. The space itself is fun, but with staff like Courtney, it's hard to recommend. Management seriously needs to address the way guests are being treated. read more

Wow, this is a fun spot. Downtown nashville is filled with your typical honky tonk bars, however, this spot is a fun, two story interactive bar with games! I'm not talking VR or vintage pinball. Oversized classics that will leave you feeling like a kid again. Kudos to the staff members, they were all so great and friendly. I went to Play Playground for a work event and thought it was just okay. I like the concept and tried several games (Red Light, Balance Beam, Perfection), but it felt like there weren't enough activities since some of the games took up a lot of space. The specialty cocktails were overly sweet for my taste, but the staff was very friendly and helpful, which made the experience better. read more

2 stars go to this joint being super visually appealing, having several fun photo ops, and the employees having positive attitudes. However, the overall experience at Play Playground was incredibly underwhelming to put it lightly. I came to celebrate my birthday with my husband and was totally pumped to be there. There was an option for unlimited play for double the price, but we weren't sure what to expect so we went with the standard option. We paid just over $100 for both of us to play each game once. Cool. We were okay with that and excited. The games themselves were cool and fun to play. My issue, and were they totally lost me was the instructions only being a brief sentence or two describing the objective of the game. What it doesn't do, is actually show you how to operate the machines themselves. For example, there is a Bop It style game with 6 or 7 different action objects (twist it, plunge it, stomp it, etc). They do not take the time in the instructions to quickly tell you which action phrase is associated with which action object. This means you have to figure it out during your 90ish second gameplay, and you can be eliminated for not doing it quickly enough. Disappointing 90 seconds, huh? Most people likely already know the objective of the games. That is the draw that got people to the door. Knowing how to work the machines to have a chance at succeeding in the game is what is crucial to guests having a good time, feeling valid in their ticket purchase, and wanting to return in the future. I obviously know how to play the games now, but no one should have to spend $100 to essentially take a crash course in Play Playground. I understand they need to get as many people through the games as they can with the time provided, but the lack of direction absolutely sucked the potential for fun out of many of the activities. We played every game in about 30 minutes, and it just felt like a terrible waste of money in the end. We left very disappointed and definitely would not recommend this experience to anyone else visiting Nashville or locals until they make some changes. Solution suggestions so customers may get the most out of their experience: -Create 5-10 second videos to go with the existing instructions demonstrating visually how to play each game (enter answers, place tiles, etc.) -Put demo videos of each game on Play Playground socials or YouTube so people can check them out beforehand. -Have a team member at each game that explains prior to folks beginning if they haven't played before. read more
