We've been coming here ever since they opened and have always had a good experience. The space is welcoming and family oriented. There is a community sense here that I love and the staff is always super friendly. We usually get bowls, but they also offer smoothies, juices and cold brew. My go-to is the Power Bowl. The Acai is always at the perfect texture, not too hard or soft, and the peanut butter makes the bowl in my opinion. There is plenty of space to eat there, including a few tables outside, and I have also gotten it to-go and enjoyed later. Stopped by after I went to pilates Sunday morning down the road from here in Crabapple, and it was the perfect post-pilates treat! I typically go for their Green or Dolce smoothie, and I always add vanilla protein, but their new "protein cloud" menu caught my eye and I decided to try the stunning Tidal Wave Smoothie featuring their playa coconut blend, banana, pineapple, vanilla protein, blue spirulina, coconut milk, and coco whip. It was absolutely delicious and a nice change from my usual order! The best part? It has 31g of protein in it! I will definitely order this again before this special menu disappears. I am still trying to figure out the acai bowl trend and Playa did not influence my decision to possibly seek it put again. Cute island motif and families were enjoying their bowls on the patio. Plenty of free parking . Staff were friendly but I had to ask them to change their gloves prior to stay order. They obliged but that creeps me out when it is not automatic. Yuck... We've been loyal Playa Bowls customers for years--easily spending $50+ a week at the Alpharetta, Crabapple, and Halcyon locations, as well as others like 30A when vacationing in Rosemary Beach. Unfortunately, today was the first time we've ever experienced something this disappointing. We ordered a bowl to-go with paid add-ons like extra granola and almond butter. What we received was noticeably smaller than usual and missing key ingredients. When Carita politely asked if it could be corrected, the manager on duty, Jasmine, rolled her eyes, aggressively threw the bowl in the trash, and accused her of being rude--simply for requesting the order be made correctly. Carita entered with a warm smile and was met with hostility and unnecessary escalation. Jasmine's behavior was not only unprofessional--it was outright disrespectful and completely unacceptable from someone in a leadership role. Thankfully, Meredith stepped in and handled the situation with grace and kindness. She remade the bowl the right way and treated us with the respect we've come to expect from Playa Bowls. Management should seriously reconsider Jasmine's role. If this is how she treats customers, one can only wonder how she treats her coworkers behind the scenes. read more

I've never had an açaí bowl before, and playa bowls has definitely set the standard super high now! Very casual beach vibes ambiance, and the staff were super friendly. Each bowl is handmade fresh to order, and I could really taste the freshness of all the ingredients. We tried the pura vida bowl, because sometimes the simplest ingredients create the best dishes and the pura vida was a winner. The strawberry and blueberry gave a slight tang that was balanced with the lightning drizzle, and the açaí shaved ice tied it all together. I've been told this place has the best açaí bowls in all of Metro Atlanta so I had to come check it out for myself. I looked at the menu and found the options really abundant and thorough. I finally settled on the Stupid Cupid bowl. The stupid Cupid blend consists of strawberry, banana and coconut milk topped with blueberry flax granola, strawberry, cacao nibs, coconut flakes, Nutella and white chocolate. Let me start by saying the toppings were delicious!! Literally perfect. I'm drooling thinking about the toppings as I write this. However, the stupid cupid blend itself was a massive miss. It literally tasted like nothing. Sooooo bland. I'm not certain if in general the bases are bland because they expect the toppings to carry the entire bowl or if just my particular blend was a miss. Great customer service with the people behind the bar. The lady in front of me had A TON of questions and the girl helping her was really patient with her and answered every single question. I got the Pura Vida Açaí bowl. It is sooo good. I stopped in during my lunch and it definitely filled me up for the day. There's not that much seating space. There wasn't that many people there during my lunch but I can see it getting pretty busy and not having enough places to seat. The music is kinda loud in here. I've loved playa bowls since my first visit at a different location a couple of years ago. Happy to report this location was no exception to the dreamy beachy vibe I've come to know and love. The music in there was LOUD and their system to pick up your order is to say your name but honestly you can't hear anything over the music. There is plenty of parking right behind the building and a cute courtyard for outdoor seating. I already knew what I was ordering so I went straight up to the counter to order and pay. I got my usual stupid cupid bowl which is one of their special bowls. Strawberries, coconut, Nutella, white chocolate, cocoa nibs on top of a strawberry, banana, and coconut base. It is delightful. I will say this one was less full than any I've ever gotten at a different location. I also asked for the Nutella and white chocolate to be placed underneath the fruit as I was taking it home but they made it regular anyway. My husband got the aloha smoothie. I had a sip and it wasn't as flavorful as we have had it at other locations but it was still good. This location is very conveniently located to my house so I'll definitely be back. My 3 daughters love this place. They go 3 to 4 times a week. The bowls are good, and the service is NOT! This is the second bad experience I've had at this location The first time, 1 let it go. Upon my arrival to Playa Bowls, there were three high school girls at the back counter talking to their friends. It took them 10 minutes for them to realize. I was standing there before they took my order. Today, I had a second bad experience. I arrived with my daughter at 08:10pm. There were three girls at the back counter, one table with two customers eating their bowl, one customer waiting on their order, and one customer in front of me. I placed an order for three bowls, paid, and gave them a tip. Within a couple of minutes, a line of ten people were behind me. The other customers were getting their orders before me, but I figured they had called ahead. My daughter told me they all had placed their order after us. At 08:50, I stood up and told Sophia, the girl at the counter, that I had been waiting for 35 minutes for my order. She had no idea and no clue. She asked me for my name, and one of the other girls went to the fridge and took out my order, and gave it to me. They did not bother to apologize for their mistake. The worst part was that I had to go to get a boba drink 10 minutes away. By the time I arrived at the boba place, they had closed They have to hire serious workers and not clueless high schoolers who spend their time talking to their friends instead of taking care of customers or forgetting their customers' orders, having them wait 35 minutes. They lost my business, my daughter's business, and I will stop recomeding them to my friends and clients. We're taking our business to another location. read more
