Unfortunately, what I witnessed during my visit was extremely disturbing and completely inappropriate for a business serving the public. I observed a tall African-American gentleman who appeared to be working behind the counter and running the establishment verbally belittling and repeatedly cursing at a customer. He was loudly telling other customers that this gentleman was "a piece of trash" and using other offensive language toward him. What was even more concerning was when another customer joined in and challenged the man to go outside so they could fight. The gentleman who was being targeted repeatedly stated that he wanted nothing to do with the confrontation and ultimately left the establishment. As a healthcare professional and someone who has never witnessed this type of behavior in a business before, I found the entire situation extremely unsettling--especially in an establishment where alcohol is being served. Customers should be able to enjoy themselves in a safe and respectful environment without being publicly humiliated, verbally attacked, or encouraged into a physical I believe management needs to take this type of conduct seriously and ensure that customers are treated with basic dignity and respect. I am also considering reporting what I witnessed to the appropriate agencies so the situation can be properly addressed. Based on my experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend this establishment.

This past Friday, I drove 50 minutes to grab a drink with my dad. I was able to get in, but realized I left my phone in my car. When I went back outside to grab it, security told me there was no re-entry. There was no indication that this was a new rule, and we've done this plenty of times before without any issues. He also accused me of smoking weed outside when I was actually vaping, which was frustrating since he was vaping too, along with several other people in the smoking area. I tried to explain the situation politely and even offered to leave my vape in the car, but he still refused to let me back in. I accepted that I wasn't getting back in, but then I saw someone in a 49ers jersey leave, go to his car, and come right back in without any issue. That's when I called the security guard out for being a hypocrite. He clearly didn't like being called out and ended up banning me from the bar. After going there for 7 years and bringing my family and friends, it was honestly pretty disappointing to be treated that way over something that could've easily been handled differently. Kelly's was a place where my father and I would connect and sing karaoke and have created such loving memories throughout the years; from my 21st birthday, our parents anniversaries as well as other events. Sucks to see we'll have to find a new bar to go to because of the power trip of an insecure man who got upset for being called out for being a hypocrite.

It's a small place with a pool table and jukebox box to play music of the bartender is not already playing country or that new rap. It's a cool place, but unless you are family/friend, or become a regular, don't be surprised if you don't get the vip treatment the people sitting at the bar stools get.
