Hello for people with dental needs: Before I recommend Dr. Hamid Ebrahimi, DDS, which will follow, please read our backstory first. I'm 74-years-old and have been looking for a dentist that can resolve the problems I'm having with my teeth. I've been hunting for a good dentist for many years. My wife and I first found Perfect Teeth and to start, my poor 78-year-old wife was their first ginny-pig. Her experience with Perfect Teeth was horrible and as a direct result she lost all her teeth leaving her with crappy dentures that cost us over $28,000 and they never fit properly. Perfect Teeth caused my wife much pain, discomfort and this was a huge waste of time and money. For all they money we spent, she could have had implants and permanent teeth instead of dentures. Worst yet, not only did Perfect Teeth NOT resolve their numerous mistakes, the dentist assigned to my wife, Dr. Elizabeth Van Leeuwen, DDS quit her post with Perfect Teeth leaving us no other remedies. Luckily, through our oral surgeon, Dr. Douglas Reid's recommendation, we found Dr. Daniel Pinkston and he perform a professional and wonderful job salvaging the mistakes Perfect Teeth caused my wife that still cost us another $8,100.00 to start over. Unfortunately, my wife is still stuck by only having better dentures at a terrific out-of pocket cost. After much research and conducting many dental interviews, I came to realize that the dental services are a racket because most of these dental operations are owned by out-of-state corporations and there are very few individually owned dental offices here in Santa Fe. Most of them are extremely expensive and dental insurance is a waste of time with many limitations. Recently, I met Dr. Hamid Ebrahimi, DDS and his wife Lu in the field with my business operations to assist them with a new home purchase. Dr. Hamid told me he's a Dentist and after speaking with him about our bad dental experiences, he immediately told me he could resolve them, economically. I decided to go ahead and make my first appointment for my dental needs. I was seen by him several times and found him to be extremely honest, professional and forthright with costs that I could afford. He extracted two very bad teeth I had, painlessly with efficiency and within a very sterile office environment, whereas most dentists will farm out all these procedures, which causes for many unnecessary and expensive appointments with others. Dr. Hamid is a FULL-SERVICE Dentist, which is very rare in these parts and because of this fact, this controls the overall cost for his services. Dr. Hamid has given me several realistic options and costs that we can live with that far exceeds the nonsense by the other over-charging and over-zealous dentists that I had researched. I found Dr. Hamid to have a superior background, first as an electrical engineer and then as a highly trained dentist knowing all aspects of dentistry that he can handle. He was very careful with me, probably due to my age to have my primary doctor sign a health release before proceeding and prior to my tooth extractions, he checked my BP & pulse. After spending time with Dr. Hamid, I further found him to have a great since of humor and his office staff are highly trained and very professional. His wife Lu runs the office and she treats all their patients in a friendly and professional manner too. Amazingly, Dr. Hamid escaped from the horrible mess in Iran at the age of 17 and took advantage of all the opportunities this Country could offer to education himself with two advanced degrees and become a self-made dentist by the ownership of his own practice. He has a proven record to have better himself and especially to have assimilated into our American culture with merit that makes me proud to be an American. Dear Future Patients looking for a GREAT Dentist: I have the pleasure to highly recommend a GREAT dentist I recently sat for. I'm 78-years-old and I have had the most horrible experience with local dentists and I don't mind mentioning that two years ago I was seen by Perfect Teeth and unfortunately they were not so perfect. They talked me out of all my teeth; yank them in place of dentures. They never offered me any alternatives and I was too stupid to get a second opinion. The entire procedure cost us over $36,000 for dentures that never fit. They were painful and I could never use them, so I stopped eating, other than baby foods. My husband, Robert paid for everything and he's not a rich man. He was recently seen by Dr. Ebrahimi or "Dr. K" because my husband inspected their new home for "Dr. K." and his wife, Lu and became friends. Robert bragged about how well Dr. Ebrahimi worked out a plan that was affordable and he even did the extractions himself, saving my husband, thousands of dollars and more importantly, time. Robert encouraged me to be seen by his dentist to see if he could troubleshoot my painful experience with unfit dentures so I reluctantly agreed after a second experience with Dr. Pinkston, who was considered the best in the field of prosthodontics. Dr. Pinkston was alright and kind, but his work failed too and that cost Robert another $8,300.00 but there is a guarantee. I have crippling arthritis and it very hard for me to sit in a chair. Dr. Ebrahimi was very patient and humorous and made it easier for me to sit for an extended period of time. First, he had me stand for a panoramic 360 degree X-ray that only took 3-minutes. Then, he and his wife, Lu brought out many pillows of different sizes and placed me comfortably in the dental chair, all the while "Dr. K" was cracking jokes and taking my mind off the ordeal. He struggled over my dentures, took off excess materials and polished the edges that had always caused me discomfort. He kept at it placing them in my mouth and finally he ingeniously made a soft liner for my pallet and the dentures started to feel normal, but because the original impressions had shifted, he recommended that I go back to Dr. Pinkston and have new impressions made and start over. Hopefully, Dr. Pinkston will honor his commitment with his 7-year guarantee. Dr. Ebrahimi also recommended 3-4-more implants and cut out the pallet so I can taste my food again. If it doesn't go well with Dr. Pinkston or if he tries to charge us more money, I will return to Dr. Ebrahimi. When Dr. Ebrahimi exhausted all his options with my bad dentures and sensed that I was worn out, I got up to offer our payment. He remarkable said there would be no charge even after 2-hours of his hard work because I'm not the best of patients and at least reimbursement him for the cost of his dental supplies, including a very expensive X-ray. Robert and I were elated and more importantly, Dr. Ebrahimi taught us a lot about dentures and the best practices and procedures that needs to follow so my bad experience doesn't happen to another unfortunate patient, as myself. Please don't expect free service from Dr. Ebrahimi because this was an unique situation but his kindness, generosity and diligence to his craft goes much further upon a man's character than his bank account. I've read all of the other 5-Star reviews, which are many for Dr. Ebrahimi and it says everything. I am actually the very first client that PLAZA DENTISTRY served and I can honestly say that if you are looking for the BEST, most phenomenal, "over-the top" DENTIST in Santa Fe, Dr. Ebrahimi (Dr. E) is your man! During my visit, Dr. Ebrahimi carefully studied my situation with a thoughtful, discerning, and critical eye. Dr. E did not miss anything and he explained every detail to me, he gave me all my options and answers every question for me in detail. In addition, Dr. E's technicians are there to genuinely serve their patrons. They are committed to take great care of you and are as helpful and courteous as can be. Everyone at Plaza Dentistry can't do enough to make a person feel at ease and comfortable. They are so kind and pleasant that a persons nervousness about going "to the dentist" is diminished. As a new Santa Fe resident, had to find a dental practice, and having an urgent issue, I had to stop procrastinating. Seeing such positive reviews on Yelp, I went for Plaza and Dr E. I was impressed. They were able to see me by noon of the day I called. (They had patients before and after me, so they're busy.) They not just saw me, but did a thorough job: exam, imaging, deep cleaning, etc. No issues dealing with my insurance (Delta of CA). Very modern and high end facility. Very pleasant patient interactions - first time a get a tour of a dental practice! They have (and used for me) a comprehensive suite of visible and x-ray imaging tools, and they show you the results. It makes the discussion with the dentist so much more meaningful and understandable. I saw clearly the plaque in my teeth and how it was gone after the cleaning. No dentist before took the time to explain to me why plaque is so bad and must be removed, not just for cosmetic reasons. On the other hand it was clear Dr E was not pushing unnecessary treatment. Dr. E is amazing! After having traumatic experiences with previous dental procedures, I was hesitant to ever want to walk into a dentist office again. I found Plaza Dentistry due to the great reviews I had read online, and decided to schedule an appointment with Dr. E. From the moment I walked into the Plaza Dentistry office, I was greeted with amazing professionalism. The staff and their practices made me feel at ease and relaxed. They made me feel relaxed and even went as far as playing my favorite music to put any tension I carried in to rest. Dr. E was very thorough in his examination and was remarkably transparent with what my treatment plan was going to consist of. I recently moved from out of state and was looking for a dentist that takes my insurance. I was very happy that they take different kinds of insurance because I have a different plan from the rest of my family. My first thoughts of walking in the office was that the staff was very nice and the office is very modern and clean. I'm very picky when it comes to dentists to the extent I was willing to fly back if this visit didn't go well. My general check-up went far beyond my expectations. I have sensitive teeth and Dr. E took his time to make sure that I was not in pain. This is one of a very few cleanings ever where I was not in pain. I was impressed with the number of high quality, new equipment and the fact that they have their own lab. This Dentist thinks he walks on water. First off, the staff is wonderful, and the office is clean. Dr. E said I needed an enormous amount of work. Keep in mind, I was seen by my dentist 6 months before and he retired and there was no treatment indicated. After my exam with Dr. E, I was told I needed so much dental treatment. I left with an itemized list of recommended treatment. Luckly a family member mentioned a dentist who she had been seeing for the last 20 years. This dentist did a NP consult and checked all of my teeth. After the exam with him, there was no treatment that needed to be done. I asked him, "why would Dr. E say I needed so much treatment". Sounds like Plaza Dental just wants to make money off patients with unnecessary work. De. E you are a con-man and you rip off patients. I hope Karma gets returned to you real soon. I was looking for a dentist with knowledge and skill combined with imagination and a spark. Maybe too much to ask for, but I found him at Plaza Dentistry. Dr. E maintains a high standard practice, and at the same time, he is very down to earth, friendly, and very passionate about his work. As I entered the shop, I was greeted by my name, and I felt like I was amongst friends. The dental hygienist is gentle, encouraging, patient, and very cool. This is a new dental office in town and they are accommodating, professional and eager to please! The reason I changed dentists is that I am in need of 3 crowns and I felt that the cost of the crowns from my other dentist were too expensive. I almost went to Mexico but found that this office had a good financial plan. I googled Dr. E to check his background and I liked what I read. We just finished 2 crowns and everything went perfectly! I saved $1000 on the 2 crowns. He is very personable, exacting and is working hard to build his practice.
