Leasing our car at Plaza Hyundai was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The process was incredibly slow. We were left waiting for hours while staff disappeared, openly smoking and laughing outside while customers sat unattended in offices. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful of people's time. As first-time leasers, we were taken advantage of. The finance team was extremely predatory, pushing wheel insurance and unnecessary add-ons that were never clearly explained and that we did not need. On top of that, our card was overcharged, and now--five months later--there is STILL no resolution. We have had endless back-and-forth with their financial manager, who repeatedly said he would "get back to us" and never did. We even have written proof of these communications. This level of incompetence and lack of accountability is unacceptable, especially when it involves customers' money. No follow-up. No urgency. No professionalism. Just excuses and silence. Plaza Hyundai don't go purchase anything at this location staff tells you lies until at the end when all paper have been filled out . Give 30 days on repair that you report during a test drive and they supposedly fix the problem but did a temp job so i can drive it off the lot because we all know once off the lot it is YOURS!!. The worst experience of my life.Dropped off my car for a electrical issue and no one informed me that it will take 3 or more days to find the issue.Finally got the car and sentimental items were missing from my keys and no explanation was given. Multiple issues occurred throughout the time period from December 16th, 2024 through March 29, 2025 The car was reserved at Plaza Hyundai on December 27th, 2024 @ 10:30 a.m. for check engine light, engine knock (re-call for load bearing and rod), engine oil burnt etc. The car was released on January 21st, 2025 after multiple reminders/visits. You barely get connected with someone over the phone. Service center charged $442 for diagnosis and said will be reversed if engine replacement approves On January 29th, 2025, I took the car back to Service Center of Plaza Hyundai because the engine light came back and oil was kept burning considering the fact, the oil just emptied out within few days after the oil change was made The service kept the vehicle on January 29th and March 15th, 2025 after engine replacement. The service center again charged $1627 even though engine replacement approved. As I said, bunch of liars there and said, the parts they replaced are not covered as part of engine replacement. They didn't bother asking me and replaced the parts without mentioning the details on the receipt On March 17, the car again reserved at service center because engine light came back and released after 2 days. Again cost me $216 for oxygen sensor and lied again by Manager as he said, only one oxygen sensor covered with engine replacement, and they already replaced previously The biggest and most critical issue started, when I took the vehicle back, it was shaking and vibrating and I was so disappointed and took my vehicle to my local mechanic. As per diagnostic, the engine and transmission weren't assembled, and engine was hanging. I can attach video but there is no option here. Upon further diagnosis, the transmission plate was broken where bolt's needs to be tightened. I took the car back to dealership on March 27, 2025 just 2 days after I got the car back and Manager made us sign the paper and doesn't want to take the liability of the issue because It is purely their fault because they didn't assemble the engine and transmission properly. The car was given them without any assemble issue but engine. Dealership kept the vehicle for over 75 days out of 90 days. No proper testing occurred after engine replacement and car was released 3 times and I had to go back to dealership for one issue after another I've had to engage case manager twice on my case. The experience with first case manager is rough, he never responded my email and phone calls. I also experienced, there is no control of Hyundai Management on this dealership and case manager has no authority on dealership except conveying the message between customers and dealership. I asked my case manager to engage and escalate the higher management from corporate office and dealership but case manager refused to give me information. The car is still with dealership and I have no faith that they will do anything with the car for month, if they do, they will come up some sort of excuse to generate another large bill OUT OF POCKET COST - ABOUT $2500 SO FAR EXCEPT CAR RENTAL EVEN THOUGH ENGINE REPLACEMENT WAS APPROVED. CAN YOU IMAGINE, I WOULD RATHER BUY USED ENGINE FROM JUNK YARD THAT WOULD JUST COST ME $1500 - $1700 DON'T BUY HYUNDAI, DON'T GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP/SERVICE CENTER. I came into the dealership with what I thought would be a simple ask, how much the lease for a vehicle would be with all costs included. I had previously spoken to a rep on the phone and told them that I was gathering quotes from a couple of dealerships as I was getting ready to sign on the dotted line with one of them (and I also had a vehicle to trade in that had to be valued). When I got there, they simply refused to give me a full price (including taxes and fees) unless I was ready to do a deal! They wasted my trip there but at least I now know that I do not want to take my business to them. I called the dealership and explained the manager (Manny) my requirements from the car. He advised me that he has the car and it's ready for me. I drive all the way from Queens to Brooklyn. I meant Manny and he introduced me to the sales person. I explained her again what my requirements. Manny and pointed to the car that I am going to get. The rook out about 5 cars from the show room. In I had a test drive with the car and the sales person and she explained me about the features of the car. I negotiated the monthly payment for the car and we agreed on the price. They advised that they are going to run a soft credit on me. I asked then again if it's a soft or hard query and Manny and the sales person assured me that it a soft credit. After this process I went outside to get pictures of the car and the vin number. Manny approached me and ask me why I am taking pictures of the. I told him that I want to make sure that I am getting the correct car upon delivery. Suddenly, he told me that this is not the car I will get iwas confused. He said that that I am getting a car with less features. I was in shock and disbelief. I ask him why he is doing that to me. Why he tricked me with the sof,/hard credit query and the model of the car. No specific answer. He kept proving false information and blamed the sales person. I request to get my file and they refused. Then someone came to my help and gave me my file and I left the place. I don't recommend buying a car from this place. They tell you they will give you anything you want till you sign on the dotted line once you leave they don't get in touch with you anymore. Have a 2018 white Hyundai Elantra that had a 3 year 36k warranty that has expired. However there have been numerous complaints on the white paint peeling off on their vehicles. They refused to paint my car and wanted me to pay out of pocket or go through my insurance. This is a defect with the paint peeling off and they should correct this issue without charging. Terrible customer service. As soon as they take your money they kick you to the curb. Leased 2 vehicles in January 2024. We were up for a lease renewal, received a random phone call from the GM Sal begging us to to come into their dealership. We came in was told and agreed upon an early lease termination and they would take care of the remaining payments. I received a bill a month later from Hyundai motor finance for an end of lease bill, called Sal and asked what this was for, he said don't worry about it and to disregard the letter. Kept receiving letters and calls and finally was told from HMF that Plaza never satisfied the remaining payments and I owed the money. I am trying to get the check number and check date that Plaza supposedly paid. Sal says he will get back to me. I am waiting days, no call back. Everytime I did speak to him on the phone he sounds so annoyed like I am bothering him for doing his job. I will NEVER return to this dealership. The day we picked up the cars, pieces were not assembled. My brand new Palisade has a scratch on it. The sales girl was too busy talking to her side dude when I asked where our rugs were bc they were missing. A total trash establishment. GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP!!!!! This dealership just won a prize for the worst customer service experience ever. This review is for a particular dealership and NOT of a Hundai as a car I had an appointment, for a test drive, and to talk over the opportunity of purchasing a car. Appointment which I honored coming a few minutes before. The young lady at the front desk had me signed in and told me to walk around while a sales manager will talk talk to me. So I did. Some sales person or a sales manager, seeing me looking at the car, opening doors, told me to come over and sit and talk to him. He seemed a little moody and rude, but I thought since it had nothing to do with me, since I just got there, and it will pass as a conversation would progress. Well, it did not. For starters, he did not introduce himself, so I did not tell him my name either. (I am a customer who came to bring him my money !!! ) From the get go, he told that a ($29000) dollar car would cost me $550-600 to lease and when I mentioned that is a "little" cheaper in other places, he told me that I "can go and grab that deal in that other place" because I will "not get anything better here, and they do not give test drive if I am not happy with the price". !! I quote his exact words removing the names of the dealerships I mentioned. He was very rude, and the price he told me was obviously not the price of a car, but a purposeful move to make me get up and leave.. Our conversation lasted less than 1 minute, just about the time for him to say what he said and for me to say "OK, well, I will look elsewhere" . Something like this should not happen at any conversation, let alone a conversation with the sales person at the car dealership. But, maybe this Plaza Hyundai sells thousands of cars per day, and they just did not feel like making this extra sale. The rudeness is inexcusable !!! Suddenly, a compressor on my Palisade has died but the compressors were backordered. I called Hyundai case management and they promptly shipped a compressor to Plaza Hyundai. Both Hyundai case management and Hyundai Plaza service management called me almost every day notifying me about the status of my case. The new compressor has been installed and tested ahead of expected time. I am incredibly grateful to William Bonilla, the Assistant Service Manager of Hyundai Plaza. I came in to get our regular check up and had an appointment for 730am on a Saturday. I got there on time and there was no waiting in line. The young lady checked us in and I went in the waiting room. There was free mini donuts, coffee and tea for guest which was really nice. The waiting room is clean and so were the bathrooms. The only complain I would have is the wait time. I did not leave there until 950am. So I would recommend making an early appointment so you can still have a productive day. read more

Public service warning stay away from Plaza Hyundai and all Hyundai products. Do not trust anything they tell you. Not only do they offer sub par service, but they lie on top of it all. The Service Department manager lied to me and to the car rental dealership where I rented my car while they replaced my back ordered, recalled engine. Which I may add I was told by Hyandai after they inspected it was fine until the day in which it died. The service depertment manager told Enterprise they were on the way to pay for my rental, not only do I recall this but the rental dealership does as well. Enterprise attempted to call them back three times and Hyundai would not take their call and did not pay for my rental. Which both the local dealership and corporate said would occur. I now have an almost $1,000 bill because of their deceitful business practices. Enterprise apologized purfusly that they had to bill me as they recalled the entire event verbatim as I have, however they could not wait any longer as Plaza Hyundai has not stood behind their word or followed through on what they said to both me and the other business. Terrible service. Car had more issues after bringing it in to them (issues I have never had with my car before). They also gave me back my car TRASHED!! I have no idea what they did to the interior of my car, because they told me they only worked on the hood and the wheels, but the inside of my car was an absolute mess. Sticky pink stuff all over. Maybe it's gum, maybe it's something else; I have no idea, but it looks like it was intentionally trashed. I have no idea how I would be able to clean it off, because it's in the car seats too, as well as the car doors, cup holder area, and glove compartment area. There was garbage left in my car, and they stole my Apple cable (but sure that's on me for leaving it in the car). Either way, I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Go anywhere else but here. read more

Their service rep Courtney lied to me about the condition of my car and attempted to charge me over $900 for work I didn't need. He said I needed all 4 brake rotors and pads replaced plus re-alignment, and that the car failed their NY safety inspection. Took the car to another mechanic and they showed (not just told) me the pads were well within safety tolerance and rotors had some surface rust but this is normal and not dangerous. No need for replacement at all. They shouldn't be allowed to do business in this city. Don't ever bring your car here they will lie to your face. read more

My experience in the store was average, however as soon as the papers were signed the service I received was terrible. My representative would not answer phone calls or emails when I needed her to set up my hyundi bluelink that she had set up with a typo in the email so it didn't work. Then I was told my license plates would be mailed to me and they never showed up. I have called now at least 5 times and they will not answer the phone. It rings and then just hangs up every time. I went to the dmv and they can't help me because this dealership never put my VIN in the system. They screwed me and so save yourself the headache and use another dealership. read more
