I found Miss Bliss on Yelp as a business open Sunday evening and walked in around 5 (they close at 7). All the seats were full and 2 girls already waiting, so they advised the wait would be an hour bc of this existing appointments. No problem for me since I thought this was still plenty of time to get in before closing. They were able to seat me around 5:45. I requested Gel-x (my first time but also my nails were pretty short and damaged from my picking off the last gel as it grew out). Jenny began meticulously working on cleaning my cuticles and sizing me up for the tips. I don't know what they look for, but she definitely worked through the different size options, and even re-applied one of the tips bc she noticed something was off. Honestly, I don't think I have have noticed but I do appreciate her attention to detail, she obviously cares about her craft. So 7 pm rolls around, the 3 other customers that were still there and had wrapped up their nail sessions. Julie, the other nail tech offers to finish up my polish design to let Jenny go home to her kids. I'm definitely feeling bad for keeping them past closing, and I am secretly hoping they rush through the polish so they can leave. NOPE! Julie takes her time on my design, and finishes up with a nice neck and hand massage, warm towel, and we all finally close up at 830. I am super grateful they continued to dedicate time to my service, while not sacrificing quality. Left a fat tip since I know Jenny and Julie will be splitting. Looking forward to coming back here on a future NY trip! Next time I will make an appointment though

my rating is between 3.5 and 4…read more i called ahead to see if they had any availability, and since they had pretty good ratings on google and yelp, i decided to go for it. my nails were getting way too long anyways. it was a very typical nail salon, the exact kind you would imagine when you think of one. she didn't ask what length i wanted and just went straight for the cut. by the time it came to filing, my nails ended up super short, and i am definitely a longer nail kind of girl. i'm not sure if she simply forgot to ask, but i'd like to think she was looking out for me and knew my nails would chip if they were kept too long. i went for a regular gel manicure since i told myself my nails need a break after this. when she was done, she gave me a shoulder massage, but it was very brief (shorter than the typical massages you get at nail appointments) and only on one shoulder, which felt a little odd. upon leaving, i immediately noticed a flaw on my left thumb. there were visibly tiny bumps, and once i noticed them, they kept bothering me. my conclusion: always go to the nail salon you trust, and that is exactly what i should've done.

The place is highly unsanitary. The woman at the reception had on old gloves that she did my gel manicure with. She also alternated between my manicure and payments. I requested she painted my nails thin but they look blobby. They aren't smooth. She also wiped my hands with a moldy smelling hot towel and massaged lotion onto my smelly hands with her unclean gloves. When time came for my pedi I requested she change her gloves. She refused and got someone else to do it. This lady scrubbed my callouses poorly and painted my toes too quick. I asked if she did a clear top coat, she lied saying she did. She did not. The paint job was so sloppy I asked her three times to clean it up. Needless to say, the work did not last me two whole days and I did sit an hour for my toes to dry (with the machine constantly turning off). They also didn't line the tub with a bag or anything :/ I understand they work long hours hunched over. I paid and I tipped both people servicing me. Will never be returning.

They began doing my toes and asked me to pick my base color for my French tip. I said OK where are your base colors to choose from and they literally told me that they don't do that . Obviously, their on some sort of substance so I demurely decline and let them know that I have cases of Gel X nails & authentic Swarovski crystals at my house and if I wanted Gel X then I would've just done them myself at home. I continue to tell them that I have been getting acrylic on my nails for over the past five years and that this is what I want. She then tells me ok. Well, we can do dipping instead and that it is the closest to acrylic. I said fuck it OK. Look at the photos LMAO just trash. The outdoor sale sign is just bait - don't fall for it…read more I went there during the afternoon on a weekday because I was impressed by the outdoor sale sign showing mani plus pedi for $38 Monday through Thursday before 3 pm. The service was good but their business practices are atrocious. It's clear that they have no intention of sticking to the sale. As soon as I entered they were upselling. Warning: if you say yes to anything they offer, you opt out of the sale and they charge you the menu prices. This is what they want. They want few customers to actually get the sale. So I got a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. They should have charged the sale price for the regular pedicure or make it clear (aka verbalize) that I would be opting out by adding gel to my manicure. I expected to pay the difference for the gel manicure but still pay the sale price for the regular pedicure. And when I asked about it, the manager started speaking so loudly in an attempt to embarrass me by getting everyone in the salon to turn and look at me. Rude attitude. I paid them the full price (and tipped because the nail tech was good) but I won't be going back.

The phone ringing was driving me a little crazy - doesn't look like they have a dedicated receptionist and the manicurist had to go back and forth a bit. There was only one UV machine that I had to put on my lap. Not manicurist's fault, operational feedback for the managers... Jennifer took extra time - cuticles and smoothness are perfect! She's soooo sweet and patient with my pickiness. I mentioned that one nail felt sticky as I was leaving but she said it hardened. It's been 45 min since I left and I just saw bits of my sweater stuck to the corner of one nail....she is newer and may have made an honest mistake and missed a gel coat in the corner or gel didn't cure..... Regardless, not an experience I'd expect from a $50 gel manicure. I would've still came back for Jenn if it were a slightly different atmosphere.
