We love Plonk! We enjoyed glasses of wine, and some delicious drinks. I especially loved the strawberry and raspberry drinks with fresh tasting purée. The quality of the food, service and ambiance was terrific. We loved the spring rolls and steak salad. Both were super fresh. The mushroom chowder was savory and delicious. We were not fans of the steak tartare as there was too much mustard. We loved the scallops dinner. It was perfectly prepared, beautifully presented and very tasty. Absolutely excellent! Love Plonk. Great ambience, large space, great wine and options. The food is unique and very good. We were traveling from California and stopped in for lunch and had such a great experience we went back for dinner that night. The martinis were unique and tasty and the attention to detail was appreciated. The owner even helped us find a hotel to stay because we were passing through the area...talk about hospitality! The burrata app-was great. My boyfriend is a meat eater and we always go out for filets and he got the bison I think--if I recall. He said it was the best tasting meat he'd ever had. Had a great time last night. Service was super great from the moment we walked in. The upstairs patio was full and we didn't want to wait so we took a table downstairs. Not super busy but building to that while we were there. Server was on the spot with suggestions and great attention. Cocktails were amazingly good - yes, get the GFC as it didn't disappoint. Shared the pork buns which were absolutely delicious and the falafel cakes which were crispy and flavorful with a whipped feta sauce that I want to be buried in. I had the curry and she had the salmon. Both very good - mine was better. Skipped dessert and just shared a glass of excellent wine for the last. We will go back next time we are in town. Did not disappoint and no one was rude or short with us. We had cloth napkins. Waited maybe six minutes for the first cocktail but we were sitting where I could see the line of tickets in the bar and they moved through them quickly and the server assured us in that time that we we're not forgotten. I'm from a much larger city and what I did not like about this place was how arrogant the waiters were. Just wow! My take from visiting from out of town: the food is okay from this bar - if you can eat from their limited menu. Everything on this menu has nuts or red meat. I could only order one thing on this menu. I asked if I could order a side of fries and they said NO! "You can only get fries with the designated entree and there is nothing they can do". This review concerns happy hour. The small plate menu is superb and the offerings taste even better than advertised. Service is wonderful, and the location is convenient downtown. Today it was a beautiful blue sky and the doors to the patio were wide open. Nice selection of alcoholic beverages. Prices were extremely reasonable, and quantity was pretty good too.The burger came with a small bun but a giant heavy of meat. The cheese and meat platters were excellent also. So.. enjoying a night out with my friends , and the menu boasted a pork belly taco which we tried to order, but apparently this entree is only available during happy hour..with is like 3-5 and after 10:30 unfortunately we happened to be dining around 8, so we were out of luck. Okay first of all no one appreciates a happy hour menu as much as me, but don't restrict menu items! Charge me extra...seriously the ONLY reason I should not get the pork belly taco is in the event the pork belly does not get delivered until 10:15 pm.. you need to rethink this business practice read more

Good news first. The waitress, Jamie, was superb and should have 5 stars. Unfortunately, everything else was not great. Firstly the barman did not want to serve my date and insisted the waitress could take the order. The waitresses were all incredibly busy with parties of Graduates. Plus had it taken the order my date would have paid him and tipped him. On top of that the drink order was one draught beer and one sherry. The barman said they did not have sherry, but on looking at the drinks menu there were three on there and they had two of them. The sherry was $8 which was acceptable, but the beer was no more than 8 oz at a ridiculous price of $6. I ordered the Halibut which arrives with a small amount of salad green and four small slices potato which was supposed to be crisp. The fish was way over-cooked so back it went. A gentleman brought the next piece of fish to the table and that was also overcooked. Both pieces were dry So back it went again. The third piece of fish was a great improvement, although not perfect. I have to be honest the waitress was always pleasant through this whole unfortunate meal. My date ordered cioppino which whilst tasty the fish and the clams were overcooked, but not as badly as mine. The sauce that came with my fish was very tasty. Also plates were stone cold. We had read these Yelp reviews and as we were going to Missoula thought we would give this restaurant a try as it sounded really nice. This was not our experience. The cioppino was $26 and the halibut $29. We have no problem with paying any price for good food, but this was not good and the amount on the plate is very small and we are not huge eaters. We really appreciate the efforts of Jamie, the Waitress to get the chef to cook the fish as it should be cooked, but we will not be returning and would not recommend this place to our friends. read more

We were just passing thru and found this fabulous place. Best food and manhattan we've had in the last 6 weeks which is saying a lot since we've eaten in a lot of lovely restaurants during that time. My husband had the tenderloin and i had the roasted chicken both of which were done perfectly. We felt so lucky to have stumbled on Plonk. Service was great, too.
