DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE! My wife and I had the worst experience with "Plug IN Auto". She called ahead and booked an appointment to see a $30K Range Rover. We were assured the car was in "perfect condition" and ready to go. However, when we arrived, we were shocked to find scratches all over the car. Sensing something was off, we took the car to a nearby mechanic for a neutral inspection--the best $130 we ever spent. The mechanic uncovered something truly appalling: the dealers at Plug IN Auto had tried to erase no less than 48 codes from the car's system. All of them reappeared when the mechanic ran it through his advanced diagnostics. The most shocking part? The mechanic told us it would take 4-6 months and $30-40K to fix all the issues they had tried to hide! This dealership is full of sleazy, dishonest salesmen who will try to scam you without a second thought. We wasted an hour driving each way from L.A. and then waited another two hours for the mechanic to expose the hidden issues they tried to cover up. When we confronted them, they weren't even surprised--they knew exactly what they were doing and were planning to pass this lemon off to the next unsuspecting buyer. I attempted to contact a sales rep (Gloria) multiple times, concerning a specific vehicle. I was placed on hold twice, and no one ever picked up. I also texted Gloria. The website stated that the vehicle was available. I made a long drive to the dealership and was told the vehicle was down for maintenance. I was contacted by the same sales rep from the dealership, the next day, asking if I wanted to see the vehicle. I attempted to contact the manager but the receptionist I spoke with attempted to evade my questions. I initially contacted them through Capital One to purchase a Tesla. Despite multiple listings on their site, every car I inquired about was mysteriously "already sold." Eventually, I was connected with Sales Manager Freddy Marroquin, who initially seemed eager to help. He assured me, *"I'm here to help you get what you want."* That statement couldn't have been further from the truth. Even though I had Capital One financing in place, Freddy insisted on running a credit application for "identity verification," which I knew from Capital One's process was standard. No issue there. The real problems began when I finally found a 2022 Tesla Model 3 with 26K miles listed at **$20,980.** Freddy confirmed its availability and said he'd work on the deal. Then the games started. The next day, Freddy gave me numbers that didn't align with Capital One's offer sheet. He claimed the price was actually **$24,980** and that they had already deducted the **$4,000 EV Tax Credit**--which is **completely illegal** per IRS guidelines. The tax credit is meant for the buyer, not the dealer's pocket. When I pointed this out, Freddy became **agitated and aggressive.** He outright yelled, *"If you want this car for $20,980, then we have no deal!"* I reminded him that this was the **advertised price**, and nowhere did it say $24,980. Instead of clarifying, he doubled down. After much back and forth, Freddy reluctantly agreed to "work the numbers" and get back to me. Since I live far from the dealership, he promised a video of the car to confirm its condition. That part was the only thing they followed through on. Then came the **final insult.** When I received the **Bill of Sale** from Frances Jacobs-Bailey (who oddly claimed they don't have a finance manager), the **numbers were completely different from what was discussed.** Capital One's offer sheet stated the final price should be **$19,734** after the tax credit, with a **monthly payment of $352 at 11.88% APR for 72 months.** Instead, the **dealership inflated the price to $24,980**, with an out-the-door cost of **$28,567.16**, then deducted the tax credit, bringing it to **$24,567.16** at **13.25% APR.** When I asked Frances why the numbers didn't match, I overheard Freddy in the background saying, *"We're not going back and forth with him. I recently purchased a car here. it was just ok. I texted the night prior and spoke with Jamal who confirmed our appointment, the following day confirmed again yet when we showed up he was nowhere to be found...we waited outside for around 35 minutes while he was being located only to have to go back in and check with carlos who told us right away he would give us the keys to check out the car we were looking at (he never did) after going back in to check what was going on carlos told us he was taking over for jamal and would be with us shortly- we wandered around the lot and were met by Estopheles. He then proceeded to get us the keys and let us do a test drive. He was very helpful and even though he is new he was very professional and made us feel comfortable and not "pushy" the major issue with this experience was when the dealership tried to add in two "packages" to my vehicle...both $2,000 each which I was told were optional. after getting the finance paperwork and requesting to decline the services Estopheles was uncertain how to help me with this. He called over a man with short reddish hair who was rude, pushy, and essentially told me I had to pay for one of the two services because "that's how we make money, you work with us we work with you" I did not want either and he then told me " we do not have to sell you this vehicle" as if he was doing me a favor. This 1 minute interruption of what was a peaceful sale had us stand up from our seats and walk out to leave. thankfully Estopheles made a way to waive one fee and cut in half the other(still not happy to have had to pay $1000 extra for something I did not want).. if it wasn't for him going the extra mile for us we would have left that day and never came back. all in all it was just ok. I do not like low sticker prices that get you in the door only to be met with added fees that make the car the same price and all competing dealers...also I would definitely recommend not jumping into the middle of a sale with that type of energy as it almost ruined what was going very smooth for myself and Estopheles. overall seemed disorganized but the process was pretty quick and they have a lot of good cars...oh and they didn't even fill the gas tank- let me pull off the lot with a quarter tank..that pretty much sums up what you need to know about this place. read more

I've never felt more deceived, manipulated, or disgusted with a business in my life. I bought a 2013 Chevy Volt from this place, and within DAYS, it started showing a "Propulsion Power Reduced" warning going uphill -- a serious, known hybrid battery issue that renders the car unreliable and dangerous. No check engine light, no codes, just hidden damage they never disclosed. And guess what? I contacted the last repair shop that worked on the car before I bought it -- they told me the battery was already failing 2,000 miles before I purchased it. This means the dealership knew and STILL sold me the car with a straight face. I contacted Richard, the salesman, and instead of owning up to it or offering a solution, I got nothing but excuses and gaslighting. The dealership claimed they "can't refund" the car because of the federal rebate applied at the time of sale -- as if that has anything to do with selling a defective vehicle under false pretenses. This place is nothing but a scam factory in a shiny showroom. If you buy a car here, expect lies, cover-ups, and absolutely no help once they have your money. I am now dealing with complaints to the DMV, the Bureau of Automotive Repair, and possibly small claims court. STAY AWAY. Don't make the same mistake I did. Sells rep was very professional, but you have a woman sales person who is sitting on the bench trying to get the sales person's attention, maybe in line trying to be the next person to sell a vehicle as she started saying negative things under her breath towards the sales rep. It took me a while to write this review, but I wanted to see how much profit Plug In Auto made off the Honda I traded in before sharing my experience. I traded it in for $14,000 (they initially offered me $13,000), and two months later, I saw it listed on their site for $21,000. That's a $7,000 markup, and that's before any of their infamous add-ons. I initially went to the dealership because I saw a 4Runner online listed at $45,000. It looked like a great deal, so I made the 40-minute drive to check it out. When I arrived, I noticed a sticker on the windshield that listed two add-ons: * Sealant: $1,995 * Theft Prevention: $1,995 I asked if these were included in the $45,000 price and was told "nope." I told them I didn't want those add-ons and was fine paying the listed price. They responded that the add-ons had already been applied. That shocked me, especially because it was raining, the car was soaked, and as a professional detailer, I could clearly tell no sealant had been applied. I explained this to them and also pointed out that a real sealant job doesn't cost anywhere near $2,000. They admitted that's just how the dealership makes money. I called that out, because there's no way the dealership is only making $4,000 profit on a $45K vehicle. After some back-and-forth, I was able to get one of the add-ons removed, but not both. I didn't want to walk away from the 4Runner, it was lifted, had the exact wheels and tires I wanted, so I took the deal and at least saved money on aftermarket upgrades. When we sat down to finalize the numbers, nothing added up. My monthly payment was coming out $92 higher than expected. They tried to tell me I must have calculated wrong, so I redid the math in front of them and asked them to show me where I was off. They didn't want to. Instead, they gave me the classic "Let me see what I can do" line. Eventually, I got them to lower the payment to a level I was okay with. It's still $24 higher than it should be, but that's a lot better than $92. One more thing, they didn't even clean the car. They told me to bring it back the next day if I wanted it washed. I wasn't about to make another 40-minute drive for that. For a dealership, handing off a dirty car is just unprofessional. And after reading reviews, I saw I'm not the only one who had this issue. Now that I've seen they listed my old Honda for $21,000, I can clearly see they made a $7,000 profit just from the sale, possibly $11,000 if the buyer got the same overpriced add-ons. Yet they told me the $4,000 in add-ons is where they "make their money." Not buying it. The most disappointing part? The salesman told me he only gets $200 from those markups. I get that salespeople need to make a living, but when a business is charging thousands for items that aren't even properly applied, that's just plain greedy. To Plug In Auto: From one business owner to another, making a profit is fine, but don't deceive your customers. A real clay and seal job costs $150, not $2,000. If you want to build trust, just include your markup in the listed price. You might earn more respect that way. To potential customers: If you go here, don't let them push you around.
