I've been to Plums a couple of times and always enjoy their atmosphere. They have great food and sitting outside when the weather is nice is so beautiful with the water front view. Today I ordered the curry chicken salad sandwich and it was decent. It wasn't great, but not bad. Their french fries were amazing though! In the past, I've enjoyed the the biarritz sandwich and peach vinaigrette salad. Our service was great and I'll definitely keep coming back! read more

I've always loved Plums and have been going there for years, but lately the service has been horrible. We totally understand the situation with Covid and the fact that the staff has been short-handed at times, but some of the problems we've encountered have nothing to do with being short-staffed. My family and I went today and got there right when they open for lunch. We got seated immediately, and ordered our food right away. After about 45 mins-1 hour, we noticed everyone around us (who had gotten there after us), had received their food, but our's was still no where to be seen. We talked to our waitress, who already hadn't checked in on us since taking our initial order, and she claimed "the kitchen lost out ticket," and they never made our food, nor have their started. I had our 1-year-old son with us, who had been very patient, and so we decided to leave, as we did not want to wait 30+ more minutes for them to even start our food. No manager visited our table, the waitress was minimally apologetic, and we weren't offered anything to compensate for having us wait over an hour for leaving with no food at all. It was overall just awful customer service. It's really sad, because we've been faithful customers of Plums for many years. Disappointed for sure. read more

Met an old friend here for lunch. Weather was beautiful so we all decided to sit on their outside patio. The view of the water was perfect and a slight, cooling breeze in the air. Waitress was very responsive. Drinks came quickly and our meals followed perfectly timed. I ordered their Rubin. The pastrami was melt in your mouth tender. Full of wonder flavor. It was perfect! The others ordered a chicken plate and a lunch salad. Everyone enjoyed their meals, the view of the water and the ambiance of Plums. Looking forward to another visit. Well worth it!! read more

Very nice, efficient staff. We had the Greek Salad, Spinach Salad with cup of Seafood Gumbo & cup of Clam Bisque. Clam Bisque with cream base, thick & creamy, loads of clans. Very smooth, pleasant flavor. Seafood Gumbo, a little thinner, tomato base with loads of shrimp, sausage, potatoes, well spiced. Very pleasant. Spinach Salad w/Bacon dressing. Large very filling. Greek Salad, loads of Kalamara Olives, Feta Cheese, cherry tomatoes, lots of ingredients; best salad of this type I have had in a long time. Very filling. read more

Touristy restaurant on Bay Street. I love sitting on the back porch with a glass of wine. Ceiling fans and breeze makes it comfortable most of the year. Food is uninspired but good and reliable. Southern classics with shrimp and grits, po'boy sandwiches, Ruben, salads, club sandwiches. Good for kids. I like the Biarritz which was s a wrap with turkey, bacon and Brie. Reasonable wine selection, draft beers. Specialty drinks over priced. Great views, good food. I would definitely recommend trying it out. read more

Plums on Bay Street in Beaufort is a great place to eat and enjoy a good meal. I really like the location that is in the middle of Beaufort and walking distance from just about anywhere on the main street. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating overlooking the Waterfront Park with views of the water and the park. The food was great as every single bite had a unique flavor that tasted great. The service was great as we were taken care of from the moment we arrived and seated right away and provided with everything that we needed in a timely manner with a smile and kindness. We really had an amazing experience here and look forward to being able to come back in the future and try some more items on the menu. read more

Had a wonderful relaxing lunch on the shady patio with a nice view of the marsh. Service was friendly and efficient. Had the shrimp and crab dip which was very decadent and abundant. The pretzel sticks were ok but would have preferred crackers. The curry chicken was fresh and tasty. Had the 1/2 salad with apple, nuts and added fried oysters. This is one of our regular stops when we come to Beaufort. Today they had fried green tomatoes on special as an appetizer. Of course we tried them and they did not disappoint. This restaurant is located in the heart of downtown. You have the choice to sit inside, outside, or just at the bar with the bartender (who is tall, dark and handsome. ) We chose to sit inside today because of the humidity outside. Loved this place! Simple, but perfect lunch. Really friendly and helpful service. My wife had a curry chicken salad sandwich, which she loved. This is my first time back to the iconic Plums since the renovations. BRAVO. During the day, it is a great place for a quick bite to eat. The Biarritz is amazing and so are the sweet potato fries. The egg salad was OK. Staff was friendly and fast. They had a top notch reggae band (Inner Visions from USVI) playing later that night so we came back for dinner. The fried green tomatoes were unbeatable. The chef is from Maryland so you don't have to worry about bready dry crab cakes. These were very tasty as well. The bar area converted into the band area once dinner service was done. Thanks to the renovated area (oyster raw bar) we had a place to get away from the music when we wanted to take a load off. read more

Was in town for my son's bootcamp graduation. There was plenty of seating for big groups and an option to sit outside facing the water. We started of with a calamari appetizer with a chili sauce on top. I ordered the 1/2 order of Sea island scallops. It came with 2 jumbo scallops over a coconut raisin Carolina rice. I was worried the portion was too small but it was just right. I actually forced myself to finish it because it was so good. I truly enjoyed my food. My husband ordered the Bleu cheeseburger with caramelized onions. The burger was mediocre. The kids had chicken tender that were "extra crispy". Went for lunch had about a 15-20 minute wait. After the text saying our table was ready we walked to the hostess stand and she was seating a couple before us that had just walked in. About 10 minutes after being seated and no server, a couple was seated adjacent to us and a server was there almost before they got seated. We waited about 5 more minutes then left. read more

The wait for lunch was estimated @25 minutes to sit anywhere. After 45 minutes, I asked status and was told by the young hostess she had not texted me yet. A manager happened to show up, and she seated us immediately. Turns out I saw 3 dirty tables inside, 2 dirties outside and 1 clean outside. This place needs to get organized. We had lunch here with 4 adults and 1 child. We sat on the back porch and the view was so nice. We had the gumbo and it was very tomato flavored. The American burger was so good. Their ranch is homemade and delicious! Whatever you do get a side of it for something. The shrimp salad BLT was fantastic too. We had some peel and eat shrimp that was good. It wasn't very flavorful but good enough. And it has a full bar and dessert. We will definitely eat here again because of the location and the views. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by our dinner at Plums. The reviews for this place are just so-so and I found almost all aspects of our dinner to be great! To start I really like the ambiance of the place and it has a prime location on the main street in Beaufort and on the waterfront park area. Service was also stellar and our waitress was really sweet and attentive. I also loved the biscuits they bring you. As far as the food the major misses of the night were all the starters. The fried oyster starter came with lots of oysters which was nice but flavor was missing. The gumbo was also less than ideal. The Greek Salad was a huge portion and really tasty! They didn't advertise it on the menu and I probably should have asked if they did a half portion. The crab cake app was very strange tasting. I did not like it one bit. Maybe it is because I'm used to different crab in the PNW but it just tasted all wrong and like it had not been cooked properly. Thankfully entrees were all amazing. I really appreciate the option to do half sized portions so you can try different things out. The shrimp and grits were divine as was the curried scallop dish. The scallops were well cooked and the rice was rich with flavor. They had a soft shell crab and grits special which was also really phenomenal! The grits were all perfectly cooked and seasoned really well. We were too full for dessert but all of the options sounded great. I hope to be back some day! read more
