Great location with lots of great food and stuff to do, staff is also friendly and helpful! However their prices are a little expensive. Came here on a date, it was my second time here. He wanted to go sing, so I told him about this place. He was super stoked and excited. My first time here, I was with people that knew how to use the system. So this time, I had to really listen to the instructions. Not super hard, just a lot of buttons to remember and it's not in English! But we got it moving along, but it was quite disappointing to a white boy when most of his songs weren't on the list. Three reasons 1. Too expensive. 2. The music and microphone volumes were too low so it didn't feel like I was at a karaoke but it felt like i was singing in my car without a mic. 3. They charge 15% service charge (it was automatically added to my bill) but I didn't get any service worth the price from them other than a person leading my party to the room. It's nice how this is one of those few places in Irvine that is still open past 9pm! I am a karaoke buff and I absolutely love singing - and after coming here on various occasions - I really recommend this place. The interior design is really nice and sleek in every room. There's a nice big TV screen and leather couches. The place uses 2 different audio systems. If you want to sing mainly Korean songs, you will use a mini computer-like device to choose your songs. However, if you're more into English songs, you will use the touch-screen device by the wall. I enjoy singing Korean and English songs, and I really do wish they had a specific system, in which there is an equal quality of song selections in both languages. If you're one of those people who doesn't read anything past the first couple lines of a review, here's the Cliff Notes version: Service, and Song Selection, and Value are AWFUL here. If you're not Korean, 70% of the songs aren't for you, and the remaining 30% is split between Chinese, Russian, Japanese, English, and I believe Arabic. I can't give 0 star reviews for this place, so, the 1-star is for the fact that you can drink alcohol here. My first experience with this place was getting out there with a group of coworkers. The English song selection is so random and disparate that you'll find like, all the tracks from Radiohead's first 3 albums, and NOTHING from The Cure. I love Radiohead, but "Let Down", "High and Dry" and "Karma Police" aren't exactly party songs. The "new" tracks in the books are from 6-9 months ago and the "new" tracks on the incredibly unresponsive touch screen system are the "old" tracks from the book. There are no books with the songs organized by Artist, which when combined with the randomness of the song selection means that if you actually plan to, you know, SING, you're going to spend the majority of the evening with your head down in a book trying to find SOMETHING that you know. But what makes this place worse than all the other Korean-run karaoke places in the OC with a similarly weak English song selection is the fact that service is awful. We came here on a Friday night and were told there was a 20 minute wait, but that we were next on the list. After waiting 2 hours, and patronizing 2 of the restaurants in the Diamond Jamboree plaza, it's finally our turn. Curiously, all the people who were waiting in the lobby for a room and were "behind us" on the list aren't there anymore. "Next in line" apparently doesn't mean what these people think it does. At any other karaoke place I've been to, you get asked to leave if there are people waiting and you've been there for over 2 hours. But since this place is anything but well-run, that doesn't happen here. Bottom line: If you want to get your sing on, go to Elvis!? in Huntington Beach. The song selection there is VASTLY better in both English and Japanese. If you are Korean, go to any of the KTV places in Garden Grove, because they will treat you better, and it will be cheaper. This place is all alcohol, smoke and mirrors designed to cover up the fact that they offer the worst karaoke in the county. I chose this karaoke place to celebrate my birthday from over 8 other karaoke places. I had my birthday last year in July. Before I made a reservation to use the VIP room, I went there by myself to check out the place. I had to pay the price of 2 people to utilize the "All You Can Sing Drink (tea/soda)" special during the week nights. The workers there were nice and attentive throughout my stay. I arrived there past 8 pm and ended up staying there until closing. I used both the Korean and the Chinese/KTV karaoke systems. I like that if I did not find certain songs in one karaoke system, then I was able to find it in the other one. As for the VIP room, I like that you can still use the room even if only like 5 people show up instead of 20. People are so unpredictable, so I needed a place that will be flexible like that. In some karaoke places, you will need to have a big group of people there first in order to use the biggest room...or they will still charge you a fee to cover a large group whether you have a large one or not. At the time of celebrating my birthday in the VIP room, my friends and I really enjoyed ourselves. It was the first time for some of my friends to experience karaoke in the private room setting. We all also really liked using the big microphone on the stand. Overall, I enjoyed this karaoke place for being able to use 2 different karaoke systems, the price of the VIP room during happy hour, the drinks, the snacks, the workers, and the environment. Be ready for a dishonest place with hidden fees. First of all, they charge by 15 minute increments. So if you go during happy hour caution on their rates. They may see that happy hour has certain rates but if you happen to come in on the last half hour of the posted happy hour then you get charged for half the hour at happy hour rates and the other half hour at regular rates and you're still forced to pay a 10% service fee and MUST buy something for each person. If you decide that you just want to go with the regular hourly rate then you still are forced to pay a 10% service fee. When we asked them why they forcefully charge a Unposted 10% fee and we were told it was a service fee to set up and clean the room. My question is, isn't that what we pay for? For the room to be cleaned and prepped and ready to use is what you pay for each hour when you go in there and karaoke!!!! So just a note out there. Whether you go happy hour regular rates or special Sunday to Thursday rates you are still forced a 10% fee on top of what you're already billed for the room and you must make a purchase on the menu for each and every person that goes to karaoke as I was told. There's another karaoke place on El Camino real in Tustin and I frequented another one in the valley and I like the fact that they are honest with prices as posted both on the wall and on the flyers. You go in there you pay what they say and it makes you want to tip them for extras it makes you want to buy stuff off the menu because when you have a basis of honesty it makes you want to support that place of business. read more

They were out of the beer (bud light on tap) to make flavored beer, which is the one thing my friend wanted to drink and wanted to go to this karaoke place for.... but the guy was nice enough to give us the syrup on the side to experiment with Blue Moon...! umm verdict: stick to regular Blue Moon... The song selection was decent. We don't sing asian songs, so no complaint there... and the english selection had pretty much all the traditional songs, plus a good amount of recent songs you would hear on the radio. There were 5 of us in a medium size room, because the wait for a small room was too long. Plush is located in a pretty busy plaza (Kula, 85C, BCD, Capital...). Know what you're getting yourself into before you attempt to make the drive, or you won't come out alive! No, but really, watch out for the crazies. AMBIANCE: This place reminds me of the upscale karaoke lounges in Taipei (ie Partyworld). Everything is state-of-the-art, and the screens are huge! From what I can remember, the decor had a romantic/victorian theme going on. STAFF: The girl at the front desk was very friendly and spoke perfect english. You get better service when you speak in Chinese, but I tend to go with the "whatever language they use first" approach. When we wanted to reduce the volume, one of the workers came and showed us how to adjust everything to our liking. SELECTION: Best selection of english/chinese songs I've seen outside of Asia! I know they have a Korean list, but I'm not sure how developed it is. They had every Chinese song that I wanted to sing. :) OVERALL: Plush is a great place to drop around $20 for karaoke. We come here every once in a while, mostly because they're the best Asian-style karaoke game in town. They serve booze and food that's not halfway bad. Gripes: The songs! Not a problem if you sing English or Korean. But if you sing Chinese, be prepared to deal with song numbers that don't work and lyrics that have been changed by mainland China facilities. On our latest visit, we took the parents who have been singing karaoke all their lives. We chose to use the remote control dial pad because that seemed to give us the most variety of song languages. Guess we should have went with the touch screen system because only about 30% of the Chinese songs in the remote control database worked. The worst part is...songs my parents have sung for decades were suddenly altered with different lyrics! The words were in simplified Chinese but the lyrics were also completely different than the actual song. Terrible. So for Plush, it's a little bit more done up on the inside than say most of the other KTV places you'd expect to find in other places. Plus, it's as clean as you hope for. Medium room (5-9 people) cost us $40/hour, which came out to be about $14/person since we stayed forever. They do have wireless mics. Not sure what the other Yelpers are referring to, but there was no drink minimum for us. The only thing that's really horrible is the way the iVod computer is set up for song selection. I don't know if we're just idiots, but it took us a half hour to figure out how to work the damn thing. Once we got going, it was hard to search for songs that we wanted right on the spot. I know the computer thing is cool and all, but I wouldn't mind a classic book + number key-in if it let us get to the songs we wanted faster. I've been here plenty of times before (I was even thrown a surprise birthday here!) and it's usually a pretty solid 3.5-star experience, but my last visit here warrants a 1-star review (but I averaged my rating). DON'T BE FOOLED! If you're in on a Sunday for happy hour like I was, you are REQUIRED TO BUY A DRINK. If you order a tea, they will take over half an hour because they are 'brewing it.' I honestly don't know how they brew they teas, but it should take no more than 15 minutes to complete a drink order, even if they are brewing from scratch. The drink I ordered, however, was decent. I just didn't appreciate having to get my drink more than halfway through my time there. Because we didn't finish our drinks, we ended up staying another ten minutes or so. At the beginning of our karaoke session, we spent five minutes literally just talking and waiting for the guy to come back for our drink menu. He didn't, so I walked out and placed the order. The last five minutes were spent being girls in the bathroom, but okay, my bad, we should've paid first. Anyway, the total came out rounded to an hour and a half, plus two drinks (one of them was priced wrong and they corrected it when we mentioned it to them) came out to what would've been an hour at normal price. Overall, I felt scammed into having to pay for the drinks (they mention it no where on their website), and they really should have a disclaimer that certain drinks will take over half an hour to make. I am going to start with the cons of this place because they outweigh the pros. The aircondition was barely one. It was so hot in that little room that we had to open the door to get some air several times. We asked repeatedly to get the A/C going, but it was so not happening. It took a good hour and a half to feel something. And then it went off again. The rating on the karaoke was broken. This place is stingy I guess. The highlights: 1. THE BEST sound system you'll find in a karaoke room; 2. They have an actual kitchen, meaning you can get fresh-cooked hot food, along with boba-shop-style teas and coffees, brought into your room; 3. UNLIKE many other karaoke room establishments, they have a liquor license, so you can buy alcohol here, if you'd like; and 4. Relatively clean, especially compared to other karaoke room establishments. They have a decent English song selection. I understand the Chinese/Japanese/Korean selection is much more extensive. People seem to be impressed with the touch screen song selector. To be honest, while flashy, this may be more of a detriment, because there is only one, unmovable touch screen planted in each room, and thus only one person at a time can look for songs to put in the queue (at places with printed books, they usually give you several books, so multiple people can peruse them simultaneously). Their normal pricing is about $10 per hour more than at other karaoke room establishments. The "highlights" as I've outlined above are (in my opinion) worth the price difference. read more

My coworkers and I really wanted to get some karaoke into our Friday night, so we came by here. We had about 15 or so people in our group which meant we were planning on being there for a while. Plush offers some pretty nice deals for drinks and food for large groups. At first, we had some trouble with the remote control not being able to place our choices in the song queue, but the staff was nice enough to help us out. We spent about 2 hours there just eating, driving and singing and we all had a lot of fun. Not very many song selections in English....pretty disappointed in what they had to offer. I went into the night knowing that they do not have a hard liquor license which was fine, but we only saw the waiters at the beginning of the night. After the first two rounds of drinks they did not come back. Later on I wanted club soda or juice and my boyfriend went to the bar, the server stated they do not have club soda, tonic, or cranberry juice. Then a security guard came up and told him they do not serve hard alcohol nor do they allow it on the premises.....although that's not what I was looking for. waited 2 hours on a friday around 8pm for a small room. first come first serve so make sure you come when they open or something... honestly could spend hours here. it is so fun to sing (scream) your heart out with your friends. :) you can order snacks or drinks here. drinks include soft drinks plus alcoholic drinks like beer, sake or soju. lots of english song choices are available. of course they don't have every song or many new songs but it's ok. it can get pretty pricey if you come any time other than happy hour and make sure to watch the time!! 2 hours will go by so quick and since you pay at the end, you could rack up quite the bill. service was ok. they have a button in each room to call someone but i don't know if they really pay attention to it because even after waiting a while, nobody came. when i went out to order, they weren't really busy so i'm not sure what happened. anyway i recommend you to just go to the front if you want to order or if you have a problem or you could be waiting a while. TL;DR fun place to hangout with friends. watch the time. can be pricey but they have deals. service is ok. but despite it all, totally recommend coming here to have a great time. read more
