Went to see the Cher concert on Sunday and was very surprised to see the $30 price tag for parking this is totally ridiculous to charge such and extremely high price for parking I would expect those prices in NYC but not here. It wouldn't mind so much if they actually learn how to direct cars to the parking lot after all these years they still don't know how to park cars. Then there was the long wait to get into the building due to slow security checks very unorganized very disappointed not sure I will attend any more events here unless I get a ride. Spent the weekend in Raleigh as part of a gift: husband and I bought each other tix for The Eagles, and the kids bought us 2 nights at the Hyatt Place, plus tix and parking for the NC State game on Saturday. We've seen a lot of games and events at a lot of arenas all over the world, and the PNC Center is far and away the nicest. It's clean-clean-clean, sight lines are great no matter where you sit. Our concert tix were on the floor in folding chairs, and it was jam-packed in our original seats but we were able to move to an empty half-row at the rear of our section and spread out. We're fans of the large variety and most stadium seats are a degree of uncomfortable, so it was nice to be able to move. For the basketball game, we had seats in the balcony just below the private suites/boxes. These seats were excellent and the view of the game was top-notch. The in-seat food service was a nice touch; I highly recommend the chicken ceasar wrap. Food and drinks here are expensive, but in line with most nice arenas. The BBQ sandwich was good: workers chunked it up right there in front of us, and we got to put our own favorite sauce on it to juice it up. The philly steak was freshly grilled but too greasy to eat, so that was a disappointment. Wine was way expensive for mediocre vino, but I choked that whole cup down. Access in and out was easy but expensive. Next time, we'll take the free shuttle from the hotel that will drop us right at the door, and then cab it back. For the BB game, the kids also purchased a parking pass that put us about 100 yards from the gate: PRIMO. Every employee we came across was polite and seemed glad to see us/customers. If we win the lottery, we'll purchase a private suite here, this arena is that good. read more

Highly disappointed with the way security handled a situation in section 219 last night during the capitals vs canes hockey game... my fellow degenerates and I took a trip to go see the caps spank the hurricanes but then things took a turn for the worst. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a bunch of uncultured swines wearing pastel colored shirts not knowing a lick about hockey. After crushing a bottle of ketel and 5 Red Bull's on our road trip up I was 100% sober walking into this game. The home team fans were chirping the minute I got out of my Uber walking into the game. Even the event staff was very unpleasant with my C A P S chants that I continuously shouted throughout the first period and half of the game that I was in attendance for. The game started and tensions were high. I'll give it to the hurricanes though for coming out hot and going up 2-0 on the caps. Then somehow I went from watching a professional hockey game to a WWE event on the stairs. Some lovely hurricanes fan from another section decided to come grab me by the throat and choke slam me on the steps. After he had me pinned I asked him what he was doing and he didn't have the respect to respond to me. I was beyond appalled that he didn't have the respect to answer a simple question while grabbing me by the throat. Typically, I'm into my throat being grabbed but last night was was not acceptable. After John Cena did a number on me I was escorted out of stands so they could relocate the undertaker to another section. Upon my return I was greeted with a heavy roar of boos from the lovely hurricanes fans in sections 219/220. I sat down and enjoyed another 5 minutes of the capitals being slaughtered and then the flood gates opened. UFC 236 took place sooner than expected and a full on screaming match ensued between John Cena's friend and I. I was removed promptly and escorted out but 15 of Raleigh's finest PD. The fans had nothing but hateful things to say about my removal. Needless to say I will never be returning to Raleigh and or the PNC arena. The PNC arena is pretty impressive--I was curious to see how a concert would be considering up until a couple of weeks ago I had only been there for games. We went for the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert and had a blast. We didn't have too much trouble parking as they seemed fairly organized in that dept. There was a pretty good selection of food and beer options including even some micro-brews. The expected overpriced T shirts were on display left and right and they didn't have any problem keeping the refreshments flowing and amping the concert volume up to near-deafening decibels. read more

BY FAR the strictest camera policy I've ever seen at a venue (and I've been to many around the US and Canada). You have to empty your pockets and go through a metal detector. The place looks like it's run by DHS with its "See Something Say Something" propaganda spread throughout the venue. I've got news for the PNC folks....EVERYBODY'S PHONE IS A CAMERA NOW!!! No, I couldn't bring my little camera in, but everyone around me was taking pictures and video with their phone. BULLCRAP! And don't give me the "oh, it's this artist's prerogative", that is bullcrap as well, as the artist I saw allows cameras all over the country. Closing off the stage side of the walking area also stinks, because if you're stuck on the wrong side, you have to go ALL THE WAY AROUND to get to the other side of the stage. read more

I have been attending the PNC arena since I was young and I have NEVER experienced poor costumer service there like I did last night. I drove an hour and a half to take my daughter to see Disney on Ice the show was great but the service was not. I got tickets from the box office and was told I did not have to buy a ticket for my daughter from the clerk. Well when I approached the ticket scanners one of them stopped me and informed me she had to have a ticket. So needless to save it was 10 minutes until showtime and I had to get out o line to get back into another. I demanded to speak with a manager in which he seemed like he didn't even care and insisted I buy another ticket. The point of the matter is that I should have not been told two different things and the manager should have honored what the clerk told me. I have worked in retail for years, and to be honest this is kind of like false advertisement. After we got our tickets we asked the lady who was selling souvenirs how long the show was lasting and she replies in the most rudest and loud voice "What did I just say?!" And by that point I had, had enough. I will NEVER attend the PNC arena ever again I would rather drive another hour to see it in Fayetteville, NC!! read more

I attended a playoff game on 5/14/19. Hurricanes vs. Bruins. I bought my tickets on Ticketmaster an hour before the game. I paid a little over $200 for two seats next to each other. A few minutes into the first period a man with a ticket showing the same seat as mine showed up. A PNC employee had us both go down to customer service to investigate the issue. I showed them my receipt in my email. I was down there for 30 minutes and missed the rest of the first period. They took my phone because my ticket was in my apple wallet. When my boyfriend called to see if I was okay. They told him to stop calling because they were trying to figure this out. My boyfriend then had to come down to make sure I was okay, since they didn't let him talk to me. Eventually a pnc employee came out and told me my tickets were fine. Which I already knew. I understand that they were trying to deal with possible fraud. However, I am a rule following, HIGH paying customer. I have never paid more for a sporting event in my life and. And my experience was ruined because they can't tell the difference between real and fake tickets. I was not offered any compensation, nor did anyone say sorry, for my inconvenience. The only thing I can do is share my negative experience here. I will not be going back to waist my hard earned money at the pnc arena. read more

The arena was clean, no problem with the surroundings. All of the add on costs were highway robbery. The should be ashamed. We went to see Monster Jam. After paying for 4 adult tickets at $25 each and 3 kids at $10 each. A bottle of water cost $4.50, a beer cost $8, and they charged us $15 to park our car to get into an event we just paid all that money to attend! Smallest popcorn was $4.50. This was my first time at the RBC Center and I was quite impressed. The parking is immense and there were lots of orange cones and people in day-glo vests serving to guide us--always helpful when you're not quite sure where you're going. I can always appreciate quality signage, as well, and it was plentiful here. We found our ticket lady with complete ease. We had some time, so we did a lap and a half before committing to our seats. Amidst all the enticing and tasteful concessions, such as market sandwiches and gourmet nuts (this was not just your run-of-the-mill stadium fare) we found a little beer kiosk where we decided to splurge and buy a lg. $9 draft Natty Greene Buckshot to share--tasty. It boggles the mind to think about all the money that people drop at these places, what with the prices. Thankfully we snacked in the car beforehand, but it was nice to sip a beer while walking and people watching. The bathrooms seemed clean enough and, overall, the whole building seems very well maintained. The people working all seemed very pleasant, as well. We purchased our tickets from a 3rd party (Seat Geek) and have done so prior for events at PNC Arena. We printed the ticket for entry. After we went through security and displayed our ticket to the ticket taker, we were told a hard copy was not sufficient and would only take electronic tickets on a cell phone. Because we were unable to find the confirmation email, we were directed along with others to a IT desk that had 2 IT specialist to handle multiple others who were in the same boat. While at this table for over 45 minutes, I spoke with others who all had stories and were unable to produce a electronic ticket. People were being turned away that had paid up to $400 per ticket and one couple who had flown to Raleigh from Miami. The only explanation for accepting electronic tickets was, fraud. We finally were secretly told to to just take a photo of our tickets and crop the symbol to fit the screen and that should work. It did. So this tells me, the real reason is not fraud, however the scanning equipment that is used does not scan a larger symbol that is produced when you print tickets. We missed the entire opening act and this dampered our experience at PNC Arena. read more

I'll keep it short and sweet. As a kid I came to every single Hurricanes game I could, I even got to attend a Van Halen Concert here, back when it was the RBC Center. But as I have gotten older, I find things to complain about, as a now paying patron. First off Parking. Every year it goes up. $15 to park?? YIKES! The food and atmosphere is great, but I had an encounter with an upper level "Attendant" yesterday. Me and my buddy were sitting in the REALLY cheap seats. (And I'll admit I am on the larger side, but good God, you have to be a slender 100 lb person to fit in these seats! They packed them together like you would see sardines! Anyhow, we saw a couple of people move down a couple of rows as it was completely empty. So I asked the attendant if me and my buddy could do the same, as I would be more comfortable. Seats were empty, so why not right? Wrong. I was shouted at "NO!" You can't do that. And then this lady stared me down the whole night. Very rude and very unprofessional. A simple "I am sorry sir, you are not allowed to do that" would've sufficed. Plus others were doing it, so why was I not allowed to do the same? Too bad I didn't get her name. I'm giving this arena such a low review because I just had a terrible experience getting there. After spending a small fortune on seats for the home opener this past Friday we left the house with what I thought was PLENTY of time to get to the game. Coming from Durham we hit a lot of traffic, as isn't too unusual on 40 although 6:00 on a Saturday isn't exactly rush hour either. What caused all the problems though, was that they had closed every entrance to the arena except for the one on Blue Ridge Rd.. We basically had to go a mile past the arena and then come back, all though gridlock traffic, to the one open entrance. Why would you build infrastructure to allow the mass of traffic and then not utilize it? Then having to pay $15-20 for parking after being directed all over creation was just a further insult. Due to this idiocy we and hundreds of others were late to the game. The stadium itself is great, I've been there a bunch of times and never had this trouble. Why they decided to drop the ball on opening night is beyond me, but I'm hoping whoever had that bright idea is now working in the lot for minimum wage. Also the food costs are kinda crazy. We were on the VIP level, where everything cost an extra few dollars. I guess they are just gouging the rich people more, but the $5 snickers bar was pretty funny as was the fact that a bucket of popcorn was $2 more upstairs. The burgers and dogs were $4-5 more! I am surprised that they were so brazen to have different prices for the same things on different levels. I guess they just thought nobody would notice... It was definitely worth it to me to walk downstairs to get food and beer! read more

We purchased three premium tickets in Section 104 at the RBC Center to see the Eagles on June 17th. A young "20-Something male" on Row E stood in front of us for 90% of the concert. Since he was large in size, the three of us could not see the stage even though we had paid for seats to do so. No appeal to him or his female companion made any difference. She told us that it was not up to them to be considerate of us as they had come to the concert to have fun. After the first half, the family of four behind us moved or left. They had also been requesting he sit during some of the performance. (Note that no one was standing in front of him except for brief moments of applause before and after the music.) We requested assistance from RBC staff twice. The man had been drinking and continued to drink after intermission. No one from the RBC Center offered any assistance or spoke to the man. I have been to many concerts in many venues but have never experienced the immaturity and rudeness shown by these two individuals. Nor the lack of professionalism of the ushers in assisting their paying guests. We will definitely think twice, or even three or four times, before we spend $600 for tickets to an RBC Concert - or any price. Do we not have any right to enjoy the concert we have paid for as well? read more
