The menu is really well suited for people who like home cooked food with an artistic twist - cant wait to go back when I return. We are staying at the Bridge Street Cottages; short walk to Pocketstone Cafe. We had a 20 minute wait, no seating outside but maybe they hadn't fully set up for the summer crowd yet. Would have given them a 5 star rating but the coffee was weak, I'm a bold kind of gal. Got a cup of espresso and that solved the issue. We had egg Benedict, side of bacon which was cooked to perfection, slices were thick and very tasty. We then tried the freshly home made cinnamon roll; throw the diet out the window and indulge. It had just come out of the oven, warm and gooey; so worth the calories. Stop on in, you won't be disappointed. read more

I came to Pocketstone Cafe based off of a friend's recommendation, it was my first time in Montana and we had a few hours to kill before heading to the airport for our return flight. The small downtown of Big Fork is just adorable, there were a few restaurant options but my friend said Pocketstone was the must try! We put our name in and waited about 20 minutes for our table, we were seated outside on the adorable porch. I got the turkey sandwich which was delicious! The bread it came on was made in house and SOO good, it was fluffy but still held up to the sandwich. Everything on the menu looked awesome, especially the breakfast. When and if I find myself in Big Fork again I will 100% be coming back here! read more

Hardly anything for vegetarians, way overpriced for IHop-type food and very rude wait staff. I was just grossed out and will never return. I made the mistake of taking my whole family there and the bathrooms were falling apart and dirty. This is supposed to reflect downtown Bigfork?! Methinks not. So I was lucky enough to live in Bigfork for while, and how few places have two great breakfast places, the Pocketstone being one. I've eaten at the Pocketstone at least a dozen times, mostly for breakfast and a few times for lunch. Everything has been fresh, with top quality ingredients and served with a smile. I only have a few gripes, I have had problems getting service, and getting food in a reasonable period of time. This seems to be hit or miss, and I would say the majority of the time things were smooth sailing, but I have had situations where an order took quite a while, or was "lost in the system", but the staff was always very apologetic, and comped the meal that was "lost in the system" without my having to say a word. I also found their menu to be somewhat limited, primarily for lunch. Compare to the Echo Lake Cafe they have a much more limited selection for lunch (and this is probably why I didn't have many lunches there). All in all the Pocketstone is a great place with great food, but if you're there when its a packed house, don't expect lightning quick turn arounds, and if you're looking for a broad lunch menu to suit everyone's taste maybe try somewhere else. read more

Although this place is always busy, it's packed for a reason! Good service and great food makes this place a must for breakfast in the Kalispell/Bigfork area. I recently tried the breakfast tacos and they did not disappoint. Their Huevos Montana is also incredible. And if you have a sweet tooth, make sure to get their giant cinnamon roll on the side. Just make sure you come hungry because no matter what, you will leave stuffed! read more

This is a very good place to eat. Breakfast and lunch options are all very good. There's always a long wait to get a seat and service can be pretty slow. The waitresses are always very nice and do pay attention to if you need a refill. Also, the menu is quirky and kinda fun to read how they describe their dishes. read more

My wife and I drove down from Kalispell in search of something "new" to try and this place was perfect. The waitress Tanya was amazing, enlightening us on the history and even shared some of the amazing recipes used. I'm Irish and have eaten a lot of potatoes in various cuisines but the breakfast potatoes that come on the side with any breakfast dish is unbelievable good. The coffee is probably one of the best in the entire flathead area and that's saying a lot. No doubt we will be back soon for more. read more

We were both in West Berlin at the time, and may have been at the same nightclub! They had telephones on every table, ostensibly to ask a young lady to dance from afar. She is now the manager, and runs a first class, quality place, with great breakfasts and lunches. You will enjoy the food as much as the ambience. Waitress wasn't the most pleasant to deal with. I understand she might have just had a rush of people prior to us showing up but ignoring us because we didn't order a large meal doesn't cut it. This is one of the first times I haven't tipped 20%+ simply because she didn't seem too interested in what was going on at the table. We saw her when we ordered and when i paid. Oh, and perhaps asking if an adult wants gummy worms and a bunch of candy along with sprinkles on their hot cocoa would help with thinking we are taken seriously as patrons. The food, almost forgot the food. The cinnamon rolls come with a blob of frosting in the middle that is so cold it's rips apart the roll. The biscuits and gravy are just okay. I've made better and told my daughter before she tried them. She immediately said not to compare myself with the poor quality. The biscuits are mushy and dry at the same time. The outside doesn't have the yummy butter flavor with the semi crisp texture that is followed by flaky tender insides. These just didn't have that. Very disappointing. read more

Ate at the Pocketstone with my wife & granddaughters, 10 & 5 y.o. We had a chili burger, hamburger, wrap and salad. Food was middle of the road, the chili actually detracted from the chili-burger. Servers were really nice, but we had to ask more than once for the kids drinks, and our waitress took my wife's salad from her before she was done with out, just whisked the plate away without asking! Both kids had hot chocolate, didn't come with the gummy worms as advertised, but had peppermint bonbons and hershey's kisses on the side. The heat from the cup melted the kisses in their foil wrappers so they were pretty messy to eat.... read more

The food here is fantastic & generously sized. We always leave here feeling stuffed or with leftovers. They make the best lattes in Bigfork. Do be prepared to wait for a table in the busy summer months but they will provide you with a convenient pager that allows you to walk around the entire cute town of Bigfork while you are waiting. If you don't mind sitting at the bar seats & there is a seat available, those are first come, first served & you can grab one if there is one open. We had a great summer breakfast here sitting on the porch! The pancakes are a must, and I am truly not much of a pancake fan usually. I loved their locally made blueberry jelly as well! The staff was great. My husband and I split a main breakfast dish and then paid the extra $4 for the extra sides and that was plenty of food for the two of us..... My husband and I have tried this restaurant many times since they opened -but we are finally giving up. The cute decor and fresh ingredients can only go so far when the service is so poor and the wait times so ridiculous. But this last time the service and food were so bad-with cold fries and undercooked pancakes. We waited over 1hour for a table of 6 with a 4 year old and a 2 year old. While waiting stared at numerous tables that sat empty...waiting to be used because the owner cannot be bothered with customer thru-put. Once seated it took over 18 minutes for the waitress to take our drink orders! It took another 48 minutes for our food to come out. And the waitress "forgot" to enter the entree for the 2 year old who was beyond hungry at this point. She messed up 2 more of the other orders. And she had a habit of setting all the drinks, hot plates with sharp knives(!) down in the empty space in front of the 2 year old. Isn't that in waitressing 101? The empty space is there for a reason lady. We sadly noted that our waitress seemed to be the one in charge...and had been our waitress in the past as well. I am certain she has been teaching her terrible service tips to the others too. We were so done at this time that we didn't even want to take our food to go-it wasn't correct or cooked well so not worth the bother. We did complain and asked for another waitress...and the owner came over to apologize. We had overheard him doing that at 3 other tables during our wait for food. The terrible waitress finally delivered our bill after another 10 minutes and announced that she had "taken care of over half of the bill" like we should be grateful. Pretty amazing food. Their buttermilk pancakes are the best pancakes I have ever had. All food is fresh and amazing, breakfast or lunch. The baked goods are to die for. Sometimes they can be so busy that the waitresses can get stressed BUT always courteous despite and service is fine. My only real complaint is I wish their OJ was fresh squeezed as everything else is from scratched. When in Bigfork don't miss it. read more
