My sisters and I had a fabulous time in our cabin on flathead Lake in Somers, Montana. My sister Wendy, found this little gem of a café, where we could have a very delicious breakfast. Because it was Cinco de Mayo on our visit at this time, I had the breakfast burrito, which was absolutely delicious, and my sisters had the eggs Benedict. We had Emma, our server, who was very attentive and extremely nice. The inside of the café is small and cozy with a great deal of lake memorabilia on the walls and we really had a wonderful time sitting and chatting while we ate our breakfast and drank our coffee. This establishment is small enough that you might miss it when you drive by... So be very vigilant when you're looking for it. I ordered The Basics for $13.50: two eggs any style, potatoes, toast, and your choice of meat--bacon, sausage links, grilled ham steak, or a sausage patty. This was the best hole in the wall find!! The service was amazing! The waitress was SO sweet and attentive. The food was great ( i highly recommend the bucket of donuts!! Somers Bay Cafe is still a classic small-town diner that serves hearty country breakfast. It is really the only game in town for this kind of thing. That means it gets busy pretty quickly and, you might wait an hour or more to be served and actually get your food, especially during prime time. So if you have somewhere to be, get there early! In fact, it doesn't really seem like they are staffed to handle the amount of business they get, which is super unfortunate. If you don't constantly remind them you might be forgotten. That said, the food is still classic and very tasty, no matter what you choose. The house bread, if they have it available, is a must with any order! We also enjoyed the chicken fried steak, and a few different scrambles. The ambiance is country, through and through. You won't find a better place for that. This cute little cafe was exactly what we needed this morning. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress, who told us to sit anywhere. She kindly gave us the breakfast and lunch menus as we weren't sure what we wanted. She was patient with us, made sure our coffee was full, and was super friendly. The food was delicious. Incredibly slow kitchen service! If you have any sort of reservation with the Park give yourself at least an extra two hours if you plan to eat here! This place is off the main road just a little. But if you do not know where it is you will miss it. I'm so glad my mom and I could go here. This is an incredible breakfast spot located in a small Montana town. This isn't your typical small town diner. You know the kind I'm talking about. Large portions of food that is just OK. They probably have biscuits and gravy, the corn beef hash is definitely from a can, they probably have an omelet with "Spanish Sauce". Sometimes I'm in the mood for a place like that. Often I'm not. This is not a place like that. This place has a very house-made, from-scratch feel to it. It was hard deciding what to order. I settled on the veggie hash, which was bright and delicious. I got a side of jalapeno bacon. I was disappointed when it came out. It was regular bacon. At least it looked like regular bacon. But, IT WAS NOT. It had a hidden spicy kick. This place was really high rated and we were looking for brunch options on the way to glacier national park. We got there around 12 pm on a Sunday to see a lot of groups waiting! The girl taking down names for tables looked a little uninterested when we approached her, but we got a table quickly! They had run out of breakfast so we ordered from the lunch menu. I got the loaded roast beef sandwich and my husband got the Reuben. The food was really tasty, the soup I got with my sandwich was a little lukewarm. My husbands fries were amazing! He loved his Reuben too. It took really long for us to get the food though. Almost 30-40 mins. But maybe they were just short staffed! Do give this little spot a shot if you are in the area. Awesome breakfast! A cute little place right in Somers. There are a ton of old pictures on the walls to look at. Our waitress was so nice. She brought us coffee and menus and was quick to take our order when we were ready. The Benedict with chorizo was amazing. It's super easy to mess up a hollandaise sauce but it was just right here. The chorizo on the Benedict is what made the meal- just spicy enough. The basic was perfect too. The bacon. THE BACON. I guess that's what you get when there is so much pork and beef available in the area because the bacon was friggin delicious. The reason I had to give it 3 stars is solely due to how long it took to get our food. The restaurant was not very busy and it still took almost an hour and a half to get our food. When it finally came out it was delicious but overall we were there for just about 2 hours..... for breakfast. Hopefully it was just an off day for them. We wanted to eat at some place off the beaten path....a "hole in the wall"...Somers Bay Cafe fit the bill. What used to be the town's post office and bank is now this little quaint cafe that serves breakfast and lunch only. Inside is filled with historical information and photos of days gone by. We seated ourselves and waited a bit until someone poured us water and handed us a menu. The Buffalo burger was their special that day so we both decided to order it. We waited for probably half an hour or more for our food and it came out hot! The French fries looked like bear claws. They weren't seasoned at all which was a little disappointing. The buffalo burger was not fresh meat. Pretty sure it had been frozen. It was dry and a little hard to chew. The bun was the best part...buttered and grilled to give it the burnt edge. Our waitress was super friendly and wanted to offer us all kinds of information and tell us lots of stories....bordering on a little too much. If you want the small town experience, it's a fun little place to stop. But I wouldn't recommend the bison burger. read more

I've been here numerous times and the food is tasty and consistent. Breakfast is my fav especially the skillets. Service this time was lacking. No sense of urgency to seat your guests and clean off tables. I understand there is a shortage of staff everywhere in the valley, but people need to lead by example.
